  • I liked Power Stone 1 combo system.

I liked Power Stone 2 hectic frenzy multi-player and weapon creations.

I would like to have Power Stone 3 on the next gen console to have vanilla combo system and still have what the fans want. Another Power Stone Game! The Dreamcast era was an excellent system for its time.

  • I love this series.

4 player with friends in Power Stone 2 is so much fun!

I wish CAPCOM would release a 3rd game with graphics like in Super Street Fighter IV.

  • @NeoBeowulf03

I'd prefer anime cel shading like in the Naruto games for a 3rd Power Stone

  • @michiyoyoshiku

    hmm...yeah.

the game would also look awesome in cel-shaded graphics.

  • @NeoBeowulf03

You know there was a Power Stone anime right?

  • @michiyoyoshiku

    Yes,I do.

I saw an episode of it on AXN back then.

Now that you mentioned it I feel like watching the anime series again.

  • @NeoBeowulf03

I think the US DVDs have been long out of print.

  • I see a video of snatcher. will you ever review that?

I love powerstone btw. both games one of the most original experiences I had in gaming

  • i preferred powerstone 2 it had the whole item creating thing and some of the stages were epic

  • I found it in an airport store and just knew I had to have it so many good memories

  • OMG, I remember that game and i always play that game on acrade but then they rid of it. they put Marvel VS Capcom 2.

  • God dammit i want this for xbox 360 and ps3 with online mode and co op !!!

  • i love powerstone, i remember going to my friends house and allways playing as jack

  • Thank you guys for the review! I'm getting this for the Psp for $4.99! What a great xmas gift to myself! More power to the Happy Console Gamer!

  • Best game I have ever played, used to go down to the arcade at saturdays and sundays and you see a crowd forming over at the powerstone2 machines as they see the pro's there fight it out... so damn nice, it was quite competitive at that time . still rmb that i would team up with my friend to battle with the others. Very nice game:)

  • Who cares if it stands the test of time as long as you the individual have fun with it. I doubt they will make a Part 3 seems these days everyone is hooked like mindless Zombies on Call of Duty and other such games.

  • Please help me before my head explodes! I'm getting a Dreamcast and I can't deside for my life if I'm gonna get Powerstone 1 or 2. Please tell me which one I should get, and why!

  • @Buss713

well.. the footage is power stone 1, so take that as you will

  • @Buss713 I would say both...Powerstone 2 is a lil better but they both great...They both have become somewhat of a collector's item so you have to look in the right places to get them cheap...

  • i agree, this game has and will withstand the test of time

  • DOWNLOADING THIS ON MY PSP NEXT WEEK(HACKED) SWEET

  • Power Stone 3 should come out. But I liked the second one but the first one more. I liked the mario party feel of the second one but i didnt like that they simplified the attacks. There were move sets and button combos taken out from the second that were in the first.

  • DUDE!!! POWER STONE WAS THE SHIT!!! I MUST GET IT BACK!!!! =/

  • yeah i really really wish they would come out with more!!! i have 1=2 for the dreamcast and still play them (with friends mostly) but man gotta love this series!

  • oh my god, can we please get a different add?!?! all i hear is poptarts crap

  • wwhhaaaat!!!

Power Stone 2 was waaaaay better than the first one. Especilly the AI improvements.

  • Classic!!!

  • Dreamcast + Capcom + Figher = AMAZING

  • Well, i played Power Stone 2. The problem that i countered in that game is i dunno how to use the weapon creation mode in that game. :(

  • i would like to see powerstone on the ps3

  • @starwarsnerd95 Yeah same here that would be a good fit

  • AHH pleasse

  • this game was awesome back in the day

  • @darksayese back in the day.... its still awesome but then again my main console is still the atari 7800

  • WANGTANG ALL THE WAY , LETS SEE POWERSTONE ONLINE !!!!!

  • powerstone is awesome. i love to play as jack

  • NEW power stone

to me that could own ssbb

soo give street fighter a rest and work on power stone capcom

  • Capcom needs to give Street Fighter a rest, and start working on Power Stone 3!

  • This game is great! i still play it for about an hour a day. the 1st one of course for single player. then when i have a party of friends over at my house i pop in power stone 2 for some 4 player madness!

  • Power stone was my shit!!!! The dreamcast died way to fast :(

  • @Diispaceyone Pirating killed it.

  • Powerful!

  • Some additional info I'm going chime in with 1. There was an Anime based on Power Stone dubbed in English that was not that good 2 The PSP version is nice since you can use the New Power Stone 2 fighters in the original Power Stone game as well unlockable fighters Falcon's Dad and the shop girl.3 I like to see an HD remix of Power Stone based on the PSP version for PS3 and Xbox360 although I'm still playing Power Stone on Dreamcast with my Sega Saturn controller adapter.

  • Gotta disagree here guys. I fell in love with the item creation of PS 2. Many hours lost to that game haha.

  • I loved, loved LOVED this game. It's just phenomenal. I enjoyed every living, breathing second of it. ^^

  • I loved to play the first game with my friend on his DC. im glad he didnt get power stone 2 (he wanted to get that one instead of part 1). we played it so much. and I now I got it for the psp again and I love it! though I never really play the 2nd one. just somehow dont like it. but the first 1 is kick ass. actually I hate fighting games like tekken and dead or alive. they r so boring and always the same. but super smash brothers and power stone just rock! best fighting games ever!

  • so the first game only had 2 people? not 4 people?

  • @ihateschool778

yes only 1 on 1. unfortunately. but u should really prefere the first one over the second one.

  • I got the Collection on the PSP for $20 and it was worth it (even though none of my friends have this game)

  • I never understood why Falcon was never end a capcom Vs. fighting game such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2

    He's a perfect fit

  • I can tell you when this first came out i use to beat everyone in the game this is the best even on the memory cards of Sega Dreamcast

when there's mingames but also soul Fighter,

SoulCalibar are also Crazy in The Graphic's

  • u guys really like capcom

  • @coopkdms I love capcom 2nd favorite gaming company

  • I liked powerstone a little bit but not that much because I always felt like I was forced to get the stones and use the super rather than just playing the game

  • Haha, how fitting that this was shown on my b-day. Personally, I loved Power Stone 1 and I remember having your view of Power Stone 2 again...but after I played it for a while..I ended up loving it even more than the original...The more chaos means the more you have to pay attention to your surroundings and your opponents which I believe you can still strategize for. Unfortunately, my ex somehow messed with the laser pointer on my Dreamcast and now the discs won't spin to play. :(

  • whats the name of the mech game they show for a second during the intro at 0:29 ?

  • Love the way Robman says Japan - very SFII :P

  • Powerstone on XBLA! If you agree cut and paste so we can make a statement to capcom

  • @saturnstar718 Include PSN, and we have a deal. ;)

  • @ChrisKnerr Agreed!

    Powerstone on XBLA & PSN!

  • power stone needs a version on either ps3,xbox 360,wii.

  • I can tell you they probably will make it for the Wii but still it would be nice if they make it for the other systems (0 _ 0) y

  • Nice review! It would be sweet if you talked about another under appreciated series, Jet Grind Radio!

  • Nice review, keep up the good work! I enjoy this turn from the usual AVGN ripoff game-bashing.. and it's awesome how you guys actually enjoy and have played these games, unlike the many posers out there who fake it.

  • i got the pal version of power stone 1

great game i remember me & my friends we spend lots of time kickin. each other in game i still got a dc hook up in my tv next to my ps3 & 360 playing all those great games that dreamcast have

  • powerstone 2 is the better game, you can still do one on one versus in it, and they took out the cheap flykicks so it became more about strategy than just flykicking ur opponent over and over. Also, you are not invincible powered up so there was waaay more tactics in 2. Granted, 4 players is madness but that is what makes it fun

  • power stone 1 is an ammmmmaazzing game dreamcast is wicked fun and i really wished i played all the vmu games especially the gambling one :L amazing game want it to hit playstation 3 with some trophies like a psn or maybe they hsould just revisit it revamp it a little i mean. Capcom did wonders with st4 bringing it back to glory so i think power stone should definately have a revisit, makeover and just another release :D

  • I'm too lazy to hook up my Dreamcast again.

  • That Robman is one sneaky guy!

  • I have PT2.. but you've convinced me to give PT 1 a chance!

  • street fighters shit to this >:D

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 2 FTW.

  • Nowadays...POWER STONE 1 and 2 are VERY VERY under-rated games! The DREAMCAST is/was an ARCADE MONSTER!!!! (NAOMI)

  • SO WHO WATCHED THE CARTOON :D ?

  • @Sye909 Right here! Paid $64 for it on DVD.

  • @DanielBMS Does it stand the test of time ? i haven't seen it in years, but i remember liking it just fine when i was like ten or whatever and it was still on the air : ]

  • @Sye909 It does by being very nostalgic. The limited exposure of this TV show makes it very good at bringing back memories. Of course I didn't just buy it for entertainment. I bought it to also make music videos.

  • @DanielBMS

there is a dvd version with all 26 episodes?!?!?! I want it! I was looking for something like that. even if its an US version and I can only watch it on my pc. I want it. and when I got a ps3 it will be able to read NTSC anyway

  • @WuschelofDespair It's available on 6 different DVDs. Collecting all 6 is hard to do. Your other option are fansubs.

  • @Sye909

I DID, and I loved it ;) actually knew the anime before the game

  • @ first comments of the reviewers: The super fast conversion from arcade to console was possible because this game ran originally on Sega's own NAOMI arcade board, specially built to convert games to the Dreamcast very smooth and easy.

  • I would seriously shit my pants if they made a third one.

  • Powerstone on the PSP?

I never owned a Dreamcast, but I'll defiantly check it out on the PSP.

  • powerstone on dreamcast= win.

i've considered getting a dreamcast solely for powerstone, but decided against it. damn, the urge is still there. i need my powerstone!

  • you can get such amazing deals for a dreamcast on ebay nowadays. If you like fighting games at all, especially capcom games, the dreamcast is an easy choice

  • This game would own iff it came out on psn and xbox store thingie

  • I had the first one for my dreamcast when I was really little, I loved it.

  • you guys are amazing i love the vids

  • So I found a small arcade and spent hours playing Power Stone for the first time.

I had grown up on Street Fighter but Power Stone kind of gave me the same impression when I played it. I talked about how amazing it was for a long ass time until I finally got it for Dreamcast the day it came out.

    Ahh..

  • Hey Mr. HappyConsoleGamer. I just discovered you, and subscribed, today.

I watched your Street Fighter Tales story and the Las Vegas part hit me.

When I was around that age, my parents took me to Reno (I can't remember if you said Las Vegas or Reno) and, obviously, I couldn't gamble either.

Well, I got tired of staring at the wall which is seriously what they made me do if I was in any room with slot machines or any other form of gambling.

  • damn... this game is amazing.. i still play it sometimes.. it never gets old

  • How is it a bad thing to have 4 players I think there needs to be more 4 player fighting games.

  • In Power Stone's case, you really need to play it to see why.

  • *looks for Power Stone on eBay* :)

  • I have played this to death on my DC , and still playing it with my bro :-P.

  • Capcom needs to make a third installment to the Power Stone game.

  • @Airjet2582 lol hell yeah that would be kick ass! "Power Stone 3 HD" lol

  • Hey guys, love your vids, i now have power stone on the psp :) , ill get back to you seeing if its good ;)

  • Dont download games D:

  • Dreamcast classics! Really, really cool party games. In my opinion even better than the Super Smash Bros. series. Although those games are really cool as well.

  • Power Stone on the Dreamcast was great :)

  • Tell me you live in california i have to play you in this game

  • God I love Power Stone, when I got my DC it was the 2nd game I picked up for it and it was amazing. I am one of those people who enjoys PS2 over PS1, I loved the chaos in the levels and it never really bothered me that it was turned into more of a button masher. Capcom needs to release a PS3 but its unfortunate that I doubt they will because I have a feeling they dont feel it will sell well enough. Power stone 3 with 2-4 player online? We can dream.

  • I had the first one on Dreamcast but sold it a long time ago with my system. I didnt know about the PSP one. I may have to go pick that up.

  • Hey good job again guys. Was very intertaining... I actually knew this game haha so it was fun to reminise =D Keep up the amazing work.

  • u guys rock!

  • thanks for the review , nice to have Rob Man around for a change ^^

Oh man this Games brings back Memorys of countless hours playing this game ^^

  • Those games are so fun! I played the first one a lot more but only played a bit of Power Stone 2 at an arcade ages ago. Capcom really should bring back this series with online play. It would be amazing :D

  • First time i disagree with you guys, power stone 2 is way better than one, i played it a lot with my another 3 friends.

  • MORE videos please :)

You should do a video on Giant Gram 2000!

  • I still dig the first 3-4 seconds of the opening lol

  • Once again gret video!

  • Thank you, dammit! THANK YOU!!

Your reviews are ACE, best youtube Blogger ever!

Thank you for reviewing such an underrated/overlooked series, One of the best multiplayer fighting games ever.

I also agree with the criticism of the second Power Stone!

  • I wonder what came first: The game or the cartoon...

    Does someone know that?

  • Definitely the game. The cartoon came out a couple of years after the second game. :D

  • Thanks :)

  • That's a pretty cool soundtrack. Too bad there's no remixes of it on OcRemix.

  • Hey man just to let you know there is a Power Stone Anime lol i just watched the 1st episode lol EPIC!!!

  • awesome work man keep it up

love watching your vids and love your positive attitude

    powerstone is a classic!

  • I like the Power Stone Cartoon!

  • I've never owned Power Stone for the Dreamcast so I picked up the PSP version. I like it better than the Super Smash Bros games.

  • i only played power stone for abit then got a little bored with it for no reason so i may pick it up again on psp and give it another chance

  • Great to see another episode just wish you could do more! One thing you didn't really go into was the VMU side of things as there were some pretty decent extra's to carry about on that screen.

  • Definately hands down power stone and power stone 2 my top favorite games for the dreamcast.

  • Oh yeah I played that game on the Dreamcast and Power Stone was great to play.

  • man your AWESOME!! you always pull out good quality episodes with honest opinions, and Ive never seen a episode that's not INCREDIBLE!

    GREAT WORK!!! keep it up!

  • looks awssome i'll have too check it out.

    atleast the psp version..

just wow your vids keep getting better and Better. it's amazing how you put these vids together..very informative!!

  • Agh man this review couldn't have come at a better time, I just recently picked up my DC with Soul Calibur, Jet Set Radio and MvC2. I was debating whether or not to get Soul Calibur 2 on the Gamecube (played it on PS2 but playing as Link sounds fun) or Powerstone.

There's an anime series as well, I really want to check that out.

Shame the DC died when you compare it too the other consoles in sixth gen I think it would have come 2nd if it had held on a bit longer, just me though XP.

  • Buy Shenmue! A game everyone should experience at least once.

  • I would but I have exams coming up, I'm getting it before the Summer, I get addicted to RPGs real easy lol.

  • what's the name of that wrestling game at 0:31? anyone recall?

  • That ones a sequel to a wrestling game that I completely adore called Saturday Night Slam Masters, its called Ring of Destruction: Slammasters II its not really a wrestling game (more of a fighting game)

  • I didn't know that game has a sequel. I played the first one extensively on the SFC with my friend back in the days when I was in high school. Yes, you are right about the game being more of a fighting game. I supposed Capcom used the same game engine for Final Fight in in Ring of Destruction.

  • Yeah I loved the first one!! i still play it dude its as fun as you remember, i didnt like the second one because they took the wrestling aspect away which was the whole charm of the first game lol

  • I did a little bit of research of the sequel and found out that it is a VS fighter with style similar to that of SF2. LOL That's totally awkward as the most fun element in the first game was the chaotic moments that happened during the match. You are trying to punch one dude as the other guy trying to jump from the pole and hit you both...things like that

  • yup exactly lol just avoid it and play the original

  • yeah because it was so much better than Super Mario 64.

    douche

  • PS, Chu Chu Rocket for the Dreamcast... ftw

  • This is good work. Keep teaming up with Robman, he makes you look better than an AVGN ripoff (which I don't think you are... but the name kinda does). This was an excellent review and opened my eyes to the game behind the packaging. I always saw this game in stores when the Dreamcast was alive and well, but I never bothered picking it up.

  • Amazing as always dude you and Robman should think about doing a joint show permanently. O yea and check out my video response i posted. I reviewed the game way back when i started :)

  • you work very well as a team u and robman another great video :D

  • Great Vid!

  • i remember playing the demo back and i got the game the day it came out. same with 2nd one. me and my brother played this like every freakin day. i still have this but i lack the friends to play them with : /

  • cool lookback mate. i noticed jumblejunkie is trying to steal your until next time line rotfl.

  • HCG ROCKS!!! Nice editing dude!

  • naturally a brilliant episode :)

  • Good reiew guys. I've always been meaning to check those games out, being the Dreamcast junkie that I am.

  • powerstone kicks ass i only have the original for the dreamcast i plan on buying the japanese import version of powerstone 2 from a shop i know over here its just exspensive :(

  • I wanna get this for my PSP now.

  • I agree with you, a powerstone 3 game would be awesome, I still have my copy of the original on dreamcast but sadly I never got ps2 for dreamcast. I tried it on the portable but just dont think the psp controls work well enough for it.

  • I didn't own a DC, but I used to rent one now and then and got to play great games like Resident Evil: Code Veronica (which I still prefer on the DC) and this game.

To this day when I talk about it I always say that this is where I thought fighting games would go. I was tired of planar fighting and wanted more full 3D, but things didn't quite go my way, haha.

Still, Power Stone (I never played 2) is a great game. Awesome video, guys.

  • Where did you get that zelda shirt i would love to have one. Great review as well HCG i really hope capcom will continue with it.

  • Dreamcast was an awsome console, I wish it would of had more of a fighting chance back in the day.

  • The graphics look good even now.

  • This was the 1st Dreamcast game I rented. Easily the best 3d fighting game made. I like that you didn't have to learn complex combos to be good at the game, It was more, like you said, using the environment as a weapon, & it was a race to get the 3 power stones before the other guy.

  • Power Stone OWNS!

    I had the game.

  • Awesome Review as usual, I completely adore the power stone series, I actually like it more than smash bros

  • i am not a anime gamer but after watching this i want to be i will go and buy power stone when i get the chance

  • awesome episode!! power stone is a true classic. dude, no joke, i used to spends DAYS in front of power stone when it was a dreamcast launch title!!

it hasn't aged that well but still have loads of charm.

  • Power Stone is indeed one of the best fighters of all time! I remember it fondly as one of the first games I got for my Dreamcast when it came out and still have a copy to this day. I still play Power Stone Collection on my PSP and it's enjoyable today as it was on the DC.

  • Ok I am so jealous of that shirt man.

Killer episode with PowerStone maby on the top of my DC list. 5 Starz video

  • Since Capcom's re-releasing their older fighting games on the XBL Marketplace and PSN, I think there's a decent chance to see Power Stone come back with online. That could spawn a new game.

  • Great stuff as always fella's.

  • i didnt know if i was gonna make it to the end of the week without this guys!

    really great stuff

  • Damn! People have been tryin' to get me to pick up a Dreamcast, and this game is just teasing me. I just can't believe the graphics for the time.

    Great review guys.

  • Which video is the one in the intro where you and robman are in the gamestore

  • i have the dreamcast versoion woooo

  • i highly doubt that there will be a power stone 3, the few unwanted changes from the second power stone probably killed it. that and capcom sees games from a business stand point other that a gamer demand. sad really, because i'd really like to see a megaman legends 3, because megaman legends was how a 3d megaman game should be.

  • One of my favorite fighters of all time glad to see it's not forgotten!

    --Nick

  • great video again guys. wish i had this game. i played a demo back in the day and i couldnt find the 1st game as it was sold out a lot.

  • there are plenty of games like power stone out there

  • great game for the dreamcast

  • that game looks awesome dude, i was wondering can you play psp games through your ps3 on your tv? like so i can see the psp game on my tv b.c the small screen kills my eyes i have a hard time seeing
