you really should have played retail unmodded system shock 2. The "rebirth" graphics mod is rubbish, it makes all the characters much less scary. midwives for example look terrible whereas retail SS2 they look really creepy.

The Rebirth model pack has a bug. In the original SS2, these models are low-def standard human models. In Rebirth, they are replaced with the dead human "corpse" models. Strangely, the ones in the orbital stations are normal, hidef, humans.

This bug is fixed in the ADaoB mod

I found a link, search "system shock 2 download' here on youtube, and even though it works well on my vista with no patch, just run the patch included, it'll fix alot of bugs.

expanding the space behind it, all while the ship is in a depressed space "bubble".

it is theoretically possible, you just need HUGE amounts of energy to do it.

hey, ive got a question for anyone whos played this recently. how do you get this thing to play on a modern computer running vista? ive tried patches and everything, but somehow it still manages to keep crashing on me. ive done the whole go under affinites and force it to only run with one core, but no luck. any suggestions?

@DarkkBlueWolff Well, I just installed it a while ago, first I have UAC disabled, i installed it full, then made it mod ready, aplied the 2.3 patch and ran it on xp comp mode and that was it, the bad thing is that anytime I run the game, I have to run task manag and make it run on one core or it will freeze to death, and I couldn't get a no-cd so I have to mount the cd on daemon. A little late but hope it's useful.

WARNING - you missed something

OK, this isn't really that important, and a bit late, but I feel I should mention when you were climbing the ladder, you forgot how to learn how to climb without the ladder. if you press space and move into a high object (like the big red block you jumped to) you will climb atop the block.

The other thing that's very important is that you can do this while jumping, if you hold space you can effectively 'stick' to a surface midair and climb it.
