The way Ian agreed to play along with the voice overs you can tell that he respects Simon as an interviewer despite Simon being known for taking the piss out of his guests and he does try with Ian but it rolls of his back and Ian plays along with it. Simon is a much better interviewer than that annoying cunt Steve Jones who Ian should have knocked the fuck out of :)

Amstel is such a tool. If I were Ian Brown I would devour him. I'm pretty sure he thought about it.

It's apparent Ian was drunk, which is playing with fire. Maybe Amstell was really genuinely a nice and pretty non threatening guy, not an asshole who deserved retribution from the fist of god.

Also if Ian punched that kid in the face, it wouldn't have been cool. Amstell is probably a closeted homosexual, so it would be unfair for Ian to have the pleasure of making him earn his pay.
