The view was the best bit of Victoria Square when I visited some time ago. I don't think it should be promoted as similar to Dundrum, Dublin (which isn't that impressive either, to be honest, compared to many average-sized British malls. But all things are relative. Belfast is surrounded by larger malls and shopping complexes, so it would be hard for Victoria Square to offer anything unique.
@Jimmac789 Sorry, I didn't catch your point. Mine was that I enjoyed the view more than the shopping in Victoria Square and as the outskirts of Belfast is surrounded by a fair number of better malls eg in Lisburn, Newtownabbey, Conswater etc, Victoria Square doesn't fare well by comparison. The city centre shopping itself is, imo, pretty good, anyway.
@sean0sly 100% correct. They should have only funded the Catholic/Nationalist areas and excluded funding the orange bastards! Protestants who instumentally advocate, endorse or otherwise materially support through public word or deed what is considered annexation of land from Ireland, should never be given funding from the Irish Gov't.
Beautiful city much nicer than Dublin which is very dirty and grey looking, the people were very friendly when i visited last year and i will be visiting again very soon. I love the city center where there are lots of little streets bustling with people and no cars, Food was great too although portions are not as big as we get in the US but hey i need to loose a few pounds anyway.
I worked there for 2 years doing security it's shit n a big let down for Belfast, the metrocentre in gateshead is ten times better in every way possible. Oh and they also make the security sit out in the freezing cold on the mall on nightshift(it's all open planned so is like an arctic wind tunnel) even though it is highly monitored with CCTV with over 150 cameras in the place!! Wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!
I just went to Belfast for the first time like 2 weeks ago. The people were really nice but Victoria Square was such a let down, I'd heard it was same size as Dundrum Centre in Dublin and it turned out to be really small. Was beautiful though.
dont give a fuck what ya say to me its Belfast NORTHERN IRELAND !!!
