It may only take 2 shots to toast a Scorpion/Wraith (unless you hit the Wraith's hatch, doesn't work with the Scorpion though), but it only takes one for the Scorpion you kill you and stop you from hastling it. And in much more time than you can fire even one shot, let alone two.
