@FinalFantasy10RO The series before this only had Scooby and Scrappy and everybody hated it, so they decided to add in the elements that made the original so popular. The answer they came up with was to add in Shaggy and Daphne for sex appeal.
@judgeman090 nahh imma go with 2011 because it's prolly them people who be watching these pathetic cartoons and it doesn't even compare to the classic D:
@uptownaaron90 haha, well i was born in 1996 so I grew up with all these classics, it''s just kids now who hav to grow up watching shitty cartoons like chowder, anglio rules and adventure time ect. xP
@dskolenko Fred became a mystery writer and Velma went to work for NASA. They both appeared at various points during the season, but then were completely absent for '13 Ghosts'.
You can thank Micheal Jackson Thriller for this stylistic intro... At the time Thriller was the biggest thing out there and everybody wanted a piece of the pie inculding Hannabarbarra.
He was the one of the greatest characters of the cartoon-history like "Uncle Scooby". But this theme is so awesome and cute! Unfortunately i'm hungarian and in Hungary we have all of Scooby-Doo spin-offs in HunDub, except this.
@roznar97 I agree with you. Scrappy was awesome. Unfortunately Warner Bros took over the Scooby-Doo franchise and ruined Scrappy because they thought most fans hated him and found him annoying. In truth those people were just a loud minority who probably never even really watched the Scrappy era episodes to begin with. But WB still ruined Scrappy anyway.
@Filip1830 No, actually most people loved him. He saved the whole franchise from early cancellation. The show went for like five more seasons and three full-length movies after he was introduced. The problem is that that the series did end eventually and then there was the long period of time when there was no Scooby-Doo. Then at some point a minority of people started saying "Hey remember how Scrappy killed the show?" or "Scrappy was annoying", and ever since then the myth has been perpetuated.
@taylorjohson Fred had gone off to become a mystery writer and Velma had gone to work for NASA. They both appeared occassionally throughout this season, although Fred appeared more often than Velma did.
@BobbyDrake2000 - I've never watched this show, so when Fred and Velma did appear, how did they help them as it looks like Shaggy and Daphne are coping fine without them?
@BigRedUnderpants1 It was more or less like the first season with Scrappy, only Scrappy was far less annoying in this season. The eps with Fred & Velma basically took things back to the way they used to be when Mystery Inc was together.
I knew this show existed. I vaguely remember the episodes where George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were haunting DC, Velma showed up to help solve something happening at an archeological dig site and they all attended a party with real monsters.
@TheNumberOneJumpJack You know, there are certainly videos on youtube that I can understand people not liking. But I just can't figure why someone would go to the trouble of watching a video like this and then click a button saying they don't like it.
@seanmc31076 They think that today's Scooby Doo is much better! UGH! -_- Scooby was disgraced ever since "What's New Scooby Doo" ended (which, to me, was the last Scooby Doo show that kept at least tried to keep Scooby Doo original, which is why I liked it as well.) R.I.P Scooby Doo. You will be missed. ;_;
@seanmc31076 Probably something really stupid like because it's Mono sound.
Well to all those people yes seanmc probably was already aware that there was Stereo programing and VCRs in the middle 80s, but the fact is at that time when it was beginning of Steveo TV the Stereo VCR's were expensive as hell at £200 or $+ a piece.
@wrestletube1 It is mono sound. On some PCs it's hard to tell if it is mono because some PCs are made to play mono out of both speakers. My PC laptop is made to do it.
This series when I first saw it on the USA Cartoon Express....I swore Scrappy looked a little big bigger than he did when he was first introduced. Case in point would be where he pushes the lever on riverboat to help Scooby.
I like the 60's and 70's themes better, but the 80's was a awesome theme, way better than the sucky ass themes for todays SD, in fact i think the new SD in kinda general sucks, the todays theme is the worst of it!
The part at :25 with the monsters made me think of the animated opening to the game show "Whew!", showcasing the Gauntlet of Villains.

this version of scooby doo sucks! SD and Disco do not mix...

@Lottech96 It's so much disco as it is inspired by the mega popluarity of Michael Jackson at the time (hence the monsters doing the Thriller dance).
