You should post videos for the whole game , using both ryu and Robert. You are a very good player, and definitly worth watching . Finish the final boss with both characters.
my god this game is really annoying... i love the franchise, but fuck this game. Roundkicks and punches with ryo are extremely slow and therefore unnefective, since all the oponents have a ''mind reading'' MK cpu, plus, sometimes the special moves decide not to work. Old schoolers and butthurt classics defenders can bark at me all you want, but you know i got a point.
lok at ryo & robert they are a complete rippoff of ryu and ken!! even tho I like ryo and robert! 2ndly 4 those of u who r saying streetfighter doesnt require true skill dat a damn Lie! u Must not play ssf bcause dat game isnt just a fightin game u really have 2 read ur opponent, know ur character fro top 2 bottom be on point with combos know wat works in a diffcult situation and keep a level head!! thirdly there is a diago of aof or snk because no one care to be that good for snk games
@seanfresh88: All Daigo does is pick the cheapest character he can find in the game. And if that character gets balanced out, he searches for another cheap one. Daigo sucks and only exploits the bugs and shit in SF. Sf take very little skill if any at all. And I've been playing both SF and SNK games for over 20 years.
You can do a super combo. Here is how it works 1-your blood must be 25% 2- power gauge 100% -then rotate your diagonal in full circle motion to with pressing C then A. This game was ahead of its time and better than SF2 IMO.
@jowrab They were quite well known, just not as well recieved. Even little shitty arcades often had SNK games. They were not that rare. They were easy to find in arcades when I was at school in the UK.
You could also buy all the conversions on MegaDrive and SNES in Europe and there were reviews in magazines. They were just not as popular as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
@jowrab Ryo is to Chester Cheetah and Ryu is to Pink Panther. They look similar, because they were created by the same creator for different companies. Robert was modeled after Steven Seagal. If you see Han Baedal from Viccom's Fight Fever and ever wondered why he resembles Ryu, don't just think that, think of him as a tribute to both Ryu and Ryo. I highly doubt Fight Fever's a pirated version of SNK's fighting games, because Viccom was SNK's Korean distributor. SNK most likely assisted them.
But fast-forward 15 years to SFIV and Crapcom, being so devoid of character ideas, re-use Dan. 'Cept this time (in SSFIV at least), he's one of the upper tier characters!
lol @ karma smearing egg all over Crapcom and its Gen Wii casuals pandering face! xD
THIS! was the first fuckin game to introduce supers and big ass hits. SF2 was the first to introduce combos. But this here was the real deal. When you served someone an ass whippin with a super THEY knew it LOL
@demonkai76 Not really, Fatal Fury 2 had desperation moves although AOF was released first, FF 2 was in development first. Either way though SNK introduced tons of concepts that Capcom ripped off, most notably the super combo and the team concept.
haha yeh thats what im sayin^^. From what i remember AOF back in the day at the arcades was the first one to have those life low come back beat down supers. FF2 (special) ended up being the same. And hell yeh Capcom ripped off that "Super move" concept from Snk. this i know of hands down lol. thats why i always liked Snk now matter how much i favored the Capcom "animated Design" more.
@demonkai76 lol, AOF had the super that could be done from full life, but you had to recharge to use it again, making it harder to abuse the system. I always notice how much Capcom rips off SNK, WTF is PARRY??? It's called "JUST DEFEND" (Garou MOTW) and it's not unlimited Capcom! AOF is a prequel to FF, what does Capcom do? SFA. I could go on, but you get my point. And oh yeah, give us real conclusions. Bison never dies? WHY? Geese (in FF), Goenitz and Orochi are all gone. Capcom = unoriginal.
@ojideagu SF is not the first fighting game. I guess you didn't read any of the education laid out on this page. The guys that developed the first SF, went to SNK, but weren't allowed to bring Ryu with them. So they made fun of him and Ken by making AOF. AOF pretty much shows the flaws of SF and how to fix them. Dan shows no flaws of AOF or SNK. Hence, Capcom lost that battle.
@theshooter2000 AOF has TERRIBLE game play, it plays like wood, it feels like card board cut outs fighting.
AOF has never had good game play. Why do you Street Fighter 2 was so huge? It CREATED the modern 1-1 Genre because the gameplay was so smooth and flowing.
SNK game play has always tried to catch up but been a pale imitation with wooden animation and combos.
@ojideagu First of all, you're stating nothing but straight up opinions. 2nd, clearly many people love the AOF game play as it had sequels and is still a sought after item today. AOF 3 is said to be some of the sweetest fighting game gameplay in history (Which, I'm sure you never played). Street Fighter 2 was huge, because anyone could play it. Hell my aunt played it in a bar and found it fun. You can't do that with a Neo Geo game, you'll get squashed pure and simple. Again, the modern 1 on 1
@ojideagu was created by Konami in 1985, not Street Fighter. Read a book or go on a website. Obviously, anything I tell you wont penetrate your brain.
@TORQUATO26 HAY MERCADOS DONDE SE VENDEN LOS JUEGOS AUNQUE SON PIRATITAS PERO SI FUNCIONAN MUY BIEN TAMBIEN SE LES PONE UN CHIP AL PS1 O PS2 PARA QUE LOS PUEDA LEER
@RokuroCarisu Not original? This is a parody of SF made by the developers of the original SF, it's not supposed to be original. It was a way to show how you can take out the problems of SF 2 (spamming fireballs, etc).
Is this a clone of Street Fighter II? Well there are a few similarities, but the answer is no. Art of Fighting was perhaps the first to use energy bars for super attacks. It also prevented players from "spamming" each other with projectiles. Ran out of energy? Either continue beating up your opponents with regular attacks or recharge yourself at your risk. Art of Fighting was also the first to have a zooming view and characters with fighting taunts.
I hate to be a douche, I just deleted a comment cos I thought it seemed too personal for a mere objection, but basically, I said SNK were part of the Capcom team who made Street Fighter 1 - which we all know was kinda sucky. If anything AoF is a clone of SF1 as opposed to SF2, but you cannot dispute the almost identical fireballs and the main character being basically a cross between Ryu and Ken aesthetically :) they also have a Guile, and a Sagat... and Bonus Stages... & the main title font...
@tremorinmysoul I always felt that AoF was a parody of SF2 showing how to fix the problems of SF2 like spamming fireballs. If you notice most SNK games are hard to win by spamming special moves of all sorts (although many have tried), which is why I've always felt the gameplay was better. There is no Daigo of SNK gaming because there is no one way of exploiting SNK characters because if there is, SNK will fix it the next game (Like Ralf from KOF 96 being changed in 97).
you hit it right on the head 100% in the different between KOF and SF. you cant spam city shit and get away with it like that. It took more technical skill in its own way to get over. and correct again about Ralph from 96-97. i was kinda annoyed that happend cuz i loved usin ralph that way for folks who try to pin me down with cheap tactics lol But i still favor the ralph 94. it felt good to win with him because it took skill to use him and beat a good player with the AOF team
@demonkai76 lol, Even spamming in KOF requires 2-3 backup plans because it wont work 99% of the time. That's why Daigo wont touch them, it's not as easy as hadoken, shoryuken then cancel to super hadouken. I also hated the change of Ralf from 96-97, but it made sense from a vs. standpoint. It's hard as hell to stop him once he starts that combo and has unlimited supers, but I was able to do with Geese all the time (Raging Storm). The Ikari team has always been dangerous, I loved Heidern in 95.
yeh i see you are a KOF fan like me lol. you didnt say anything wrong again. all true. yeh ralph 96 i used to like using for cheap apponents all the time. But yeh man i loved the Ikari team bro. I always pissed arcade beople off in 94 with Heidern first. ralph second and then an embrassing Clark last haha. 95 i liked the Aof Fighting team with that dash kick then vacuum punch afterwards. damn there instant daze every time. yeh it took a bit more to win in KOF thats for sure man^^
@ojideagu Yeah, but it was lame. What is the point of Dan? It accomplished nothing and proved nothing. Funny enough Dan is more popular than some of SF's shitty characters. Why? Because Ryo and Robert are better than SF's shitty characters.
@ojideagu Clearly you didn't read what I just wrote. Maybe I need to dumb it down further for you. The guy that invented Ryu was fired by Capcom b4 SF2 came out and created FF. Did you know FF was in development before Street Fighter 2? Bet not. BTW, without Yie Ar Kung Fu there would be no Street Fighter as they came up with the modern day concept in 1985 dumbass. BTW, Capcom is a hybrid of Ryo AND Robert, not just Robert. Once again, you prove you know nothing.
@theshooter2000 Street Fighter 2 created the modern blueprint which lasted decades, fact. Everything before was a stepping stone. I guess you weren't around when it came out to understand how revolutionary it was in game play. I guess you have a very narrow/selective memory.
Next you will be saying Doom was not revolutionary.
@ojideagu Street Fighter 2 did not create the modern blueprint. Yie Ar King Fu did. Clearly I'm older than you if I know what that game is and you don't. The only thing you have to refute my argument is to attack me (classic ad hominem attack). Not only was I around when SF2 came out, there was an FF arcade next to it and I'd say for a while they were neck and neck for quarters on the weekends until Champion Edition came out. SF2 only contributed one thing to gameplay, combos and those were a
@ojideagu Again, you're putting words in my mouth. When did I ever say it was NOT revolutionary??? I just said, it didn't contribute much to actual gameplay. It did contribute to fanbase, I admit that. Congratulations, you played other games, big deal. Street Fighter 2 is great. I love it. Do I prefer Neo Geo games? Yes. Did Neo Geo rip off Capcom? No, if you create something and go somewhere else and create a similar product, you can't rip yourself off. It's impossible.
@theshooter2000 You're talking as if Street Fighter 2 was just another beat-em-up spin off or variation of SNK fighting games. Total disrespect and twisting of history. SNK games were not a boil on the arse of what Street Fighter created.
Look at World Heroes. EVERY damn fighting game tried to copy the Street Fighter 2 formula in the early 90's.
@ojideagu What an idiot. World Heroes wasn't even developed by SNK! Go read a goddamn wiki or something because even that would be better your knowledge. It was developed FOR not BY the Neo Geo MVS and AES systems.
@theshooter2000 Are you seriously that deluded? Street fighter 2 Gameplay was a REVOLUTION. Did it ever occur to you that's why it was so damn popular in the first place???
SNK were jerking themselves off constantly trying to get that flow and fluid feel and constantly failed.
If you seriously think any AOF gameplay is good, then there is little point talking further.
@ojideagu were a glitch in the original game. Everything else Capcom did was a ripoff of some other company (Super moves, parries, tech throws, etc). As for Doom, I wouldn't know. I avoid all first person shooters.
@theshooter2000 If you were truly around in that era and followed all the magazine reviews and PEOPLE, and played them at the time. EVERYBODY thought street fighter 2 was a revolution. It was
nearly as big as Space Invaders.
SNK games were known as a pale imitation at the time. Only Samurai Showdown was anything different. The AOF series was a total joke. Only the late King of Fighters games and Fatal Fury 2/3 were any good.
@ojideagu When you learn to argue with anything other than logical fallacies (ad hominem again) and other emotional appeals, maybe I'll respond. Maybe. For now, I'll just leave your comments to speak for themselves.
@theshooter2000 I don't recall any SNK game creating the huge rush to get a SNES console. Street Fighter 2 nearly sold the console by itself. Everybody wanted Street Fighter 2 on the SNES. EVERYBODY.
@ojideagu Last I recall the Zelda game and other titles created a pretty huge goddamn rush to get the SNES. How many owners of the Neo Geo have you heard of? I own one. How many CPS-1, CPS-2 system owners do you know? Probably little if any. The SNK games created a huge rush for people to buy the Neo Geo. Oh and BTW, it holds the record for highest selling game on Ebay at 14,000 for Kizuna Encounter. When did Crapcom's CPS ever get those kind of numbers on their own system? HAHAHA!
@theshooter2000 Neo Geo games are worth money because they were rare and expensive. It's got nothing whatsoever to do with gameplay or quality you fool.
Kizuna Encounter PAL version is worth a lot purely because Neo Geo games were very rarely ever made for PAL and only a few were made. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON.
@ojideagu What difference does it make shithead? You make your dumbass correlations of SF2 and SNES so I'll make mine of Kizuna Encounter and Neo Geo. I just proved that your argument is useless. Now go fuck yourself. PS. John is better than Guile, Geese is better than Bison and Terry Bogard is awesome. Go blow a Ryu cosplayer you piece of shit.
@ojideagu: Dude, I wouldn't say SNK's characters are poor. The characters if the fatal fury and king of fighters games made Capcoms characters look like some shit form the Flintstones. :-/
@Imadeyourun SNK characters were always poor rip offs of Capcom. Hence why Capcom created Dan to mock SNK. A few Fatal Fury and KOF characters are memorable, but not many.
@ojideagu: I agree that a few were, but not all. And the ones that were ripoffs made Capcom's Characters look like something you'd buy from Fisher Price. At least SNK doesn't head swap their characters and claim it a new one, they have a varied character roaster that's just teeming with wicked personalities and style. And on top of that, almost every innovation in fighting games was created bay SNK, most of which Capcom are only just beginning to implement into their games.
@ojideagu: AOF's game play wasn't bad, it was just different. Also it was very difficult for novice players to just pick up and beat veterans by just spamming moves. SNK fighter have always been more technical and are. And you say KOF characters are forgettable? Have you know that SNK Characters as a whole are more popular among cos players in Japan, Europe and, the USA with Guilty gear characters next. Characters have always been boring and bland when compared to SNK characters.
@ojideagu: " I don't recall any SNK game creating the huge rush to get a SNES console."
Why would anyone rush to get a Snes b/c of an SNK game, the Snes versions of SNK games sucked ass and everone knew that the Neogeo was the only way to go for SNK games, even if they cost an arm and a leg. I bet you wouldn't find someone willing to buy any Capcom game for $200 or more.
@Imadeyourun When Street Fighter 2 came out for the SNES many people WERE willing to pay over $200 to get it early, it was the most wanted game in history at the time. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 31 and was around at the time. Street Fighter 2 was the most wanted and speculated release on ALL consoles. The same when Super Street Fighter 2 came out for the SNES, some people paid well over the asking price.
The Neo Geo never had a game like that. Even if it was made cheaper.
@ojideagu: I know what people were willing to pay for SF, but for me it was never worth it. Especially since there was the prospect of Capcom later ripping you of by re-releasing the game a number of times with newer features. And also, when the King of fighters 2000 first came out, there were people paying up to 1,200 0r more to one of the first to get the game. And even still today, Neo Geo carts are being auctioned of for more than 25k, Metal slug 3 being one of those games. And btw, I'm 38.
@Imadeyourun Those carts are desired by nerds who only want them because they are rare. If they just wanted to play Metal Slug 3 you can get the MVS Neo Geo cartridge for $50 on Ebay. It's the arcade
cartridges that are valuable, not the Neo Geo console cartridges. And the games are identical.
Stadium Events by Nintendo is worth $100k and it's one of the worst games in history.
Street Fighter 2 on SNES people paid that because they wanted to PLAY the game at home, not because it was rare.
@ojideagu: And for your information, MVS carts (arcade) are cheaper than AES (home console). And the people who buy those expensive Neo Geo carts do in fact play them. It's always better to play the game on it's original system. And don't get me wrong, I play SF and I love like the game, it's just that a game gets boring after doing the same exact moves for 20 years. At least SNK had the audacity to change their characters fighting styles and moves up from time to to break the monotony.
@Imadeyourun Ok, whatever way round it is, the point is, the cheaper carts are out there. If someone really just wanted the game, they would get the MVS cart, not waste hundreds or thousands on an AES. They are collectors not gamers.
SNK games were/are interesting because they are different to street fighter. I quite liked KOF, I just found the gameplay a bit clunky and stiff. I don't like the combo system as much.
KOF does have a big following in Japan, but then Japan is full of obsessives.
@ojideagu: Not many people who are more accustomed to street get the hang of the KOF series. The KOF series was one of those fighting game that killed the turtle players (I really hated that in the SF games), it was created for true experts and the combo system was more advanced than any other SF game. Also it brought many new features to fighters, such as, the high/low jumps, evasion moves, and more. KOF isn't for the novice player. It's one of the most technical fighters out there.
@Imadeyourun I played KOF and Fatal Fury in the mid 90's. To me it feels stiff compared to street fighter. AOF is an exaggeration of this. AOF is like playing with cardboard characters.
To me the animation in KOF doesn't flow, it's very angular and abrupt. Street Fighter feels smooth and the animation moves link together fluidly and feel natural, which is what made it popular. KOF The animation and the way the moves link seems unnatural. it feels flat and stiff.
@ojideagu: Yeah, SF may have had more fluid animation, but more frames of animation doesn't make it a better game. And about the controls, the stiffness of control is one of the best things about KOF. The controls were made for more experienced fighting game fans. Also most characters moves are done with the same basic commands in SF. There's really not much variety when it comes to SF. Especially not with all the head-swapped Ryu clones. That alone is a testament to capcoms lack of creativity
@Imadeyourun Anyway we have different tastes in animation styles. KOF leaves me cold. King of Fighters 13 seems much the same. Thin skinny characters with fast incoherent animation and combos.
@Imadeyourun in terms of physics, some street fighter "purists" seem to claim Street Fighter 3 third strike is the best. Because of the parry system to reduce spamming. Alpha 3 is one of the best street fighter games yes.
@ojideagu: "in terms of physics, some street fighter "purists" seem to claim Street Fighter 3 third strike is the best". Yeah, right after they were bitching about why Capcom changed the game play style and how much more difficult it was to do combos, they do a 360 and say the game was good. That's just like the Capcom fanboy, one minute they're complainnig about something Capcom did to the game that displeases them and the next they have their tongues up Capcoms ass. Lol.
@Imadeyourun I don't see KOF being more difficult, it's just a lot stiffer and unnatural. One simple way I could call it is ugly. The combo's are ugly. To me the way Ryu and Ken's move's flow is so stylish and feels so natural. That is why they have persisted for 20 years.
@ojideagu: Yeah, 20 years of the same tiresome shit. I'm thinking you probably got your ass handed to you by someone who plays KOF. Even people who only now how to play SF get beaten badly by people who play both KOF and SF. I would guess it's b/c KOF players have better reflexes and SF is just so basic and easy for them. SF is where you begin when you first get into fighters. And when you are ready for a bigger challenge, you move on to KOF. SF is only training wheels for more technical games.
@Imadeyourun Play SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos and look at how the Street Fighter characters are animated and how they play. They have the same problems as SNK games, they look stiff and feel stiff.
It's nothing to do with difficulty, Capcom simply has better animation and physics skills. KOF animation is very bad and stilted. The kicks and punches are all at weird angles.
@ojideagu: SVC was a rushed game and the only reason SNK even made that game was to stick with the deal that they made with Capcom. SNK didn't really care much for the game. And in Capcom vs SNK, the SNK characters had better Graphics that the recycled Alpha sprites and also made the Capcom characters look a bit goofy. And Capcom only has better physics to players who like to spam. If you can spam and turtle better than the other you win.
@Imadeyourun I actually think King of Fighters 12 looks great, even if technically it's a crap KOF gameHow it looks and feels with chunky thick sprites and slick animation is how I'd want it to look.
If they could make a KOF that looked like King Of Fighrters 12 but with the gameplay of the best KOF games I would buy that.
@ojideagu: "If they could make a KOF that looked like King Of Fighrters 12 but with the gameplay of the best KOF games I would buy that."
SNKPlaymore took their fans complaints about the game play in KOF 12 not feeling like previous KOF games and claimed that that 13 would have the feeling of the older KOFs. I tried it, it's close, but still not perfect. But anyway, I guess that I should be happy that SNKPlaymore (I hate the playmore part) didn't give up on hand drawn games like Capcom did. :(
@Imadeyourun I don't know what they can do then to get back the old gameplay
While hand drawn games are very nice, I think SSF4 Turbo looks great graphically, if a little chunky. Personally after 30 years I'm bored with 2D sprite fighters and prefer the new pseudo 3D style.
@ojideagu: Yeah, there is a market for both, but personally I just don't like them. I don't see anything amazing about 3D graphics. The thing about SF, I was afraid that it would play similar to SFEX. And for some characters that is true. And drawn sprites are a real testimony to a companies real artistic abilities.
@Imadeyourun For 2D hand drawn games to survive they have to evolve. The animation has to be of a high quality, not a few frames. I don't want to be stuck in a world where it's the same shit for 30 years! I want evolution.
@ojideagu: And that's why Capcom should have never gave up on 2D sprites claiming they did all they could do. Tell me, how far has 3D graphics evolved? Even though they are so easy to make, there really hasn't been much evolving with them. On top of that, 3D graphics tend to become boring after a while. There is no real showing of artistic ability with 3D graphics. It's the same reason why Computer generated animation hasn't overtaking hand drawn animation.
@Imadeyourun Computer generated animation HAS overtaken hand drawn animation in the cinema, by a long distance. Disney have all but abandoned 2D, so have all major studios. Even TV cartoons are animated with computers. I think you vastly underestimate the skill needed to create 3D graphics. It takes just as much skill as hand drawing.
You are anesthetized to the amazing advance in 3D games because it's so common. Like a Billionaire who is bored of money.
@ojideagu: Disney is but one company, how about all the Japanese animation developers? And anyhow, who gives a shit about gay ass Disney? None of there 3D crap will ever be as good as their old hand drawn classics.
@ojideagu: Disney is but one company, how about all the Japanese animation developers? And anyhow, who gives a shit about gay ass Disney? None of there 3D crap will ever be as good as their old hand drawn classics.
@Imadeyourun Have you actually used 3D programmes to see the skill involved? You have rose tinted glasses. I suggest you go through videos of gaming history and see how far 3D games have come.
@Imadeyourun Have you used a 3D programme to be qualified to judge how "easy" it is? I suggest you go through videos of video gaming history to see how far 3D gaming and cinema has evolved.
@ojideagu: No, but I know someone who does. And also game developers say that rendering games in 3D are far more less time consuming than hand drawing every character and background and foreground by hand. It should be common sense anyway.
@Imadeyourun That's like saying word processing is inferior to a typewriter because it takes longer with a typewriter. Generating 3D models and backgrounds from scratch take a long time and great skill.
As a kid 3D graphics were the holy grail that everyone battled for, it drove advances in technology. It was mind blowing when you saw games such as Ridge Racer.
Now it's so common the rose tinted glasses come out and it's taken for granted like it's nothing. Technology today
@ojideagu: I saw that game. And no, it hasn't evolved much, and even if they were to evolve further, it they wouldn't do so on a home console system. If you look at 3D game form the late ninties up to now, there hasn't been a big leap in graphics.
@Imadeyourun You cannot be that deluded surely? Have you actually seen Gran Turismo 2 and 5 next to each other in REAL LIFE? It's like saying Street Fighter 3 is similar to Karate Champ. Gran Turismo 5 in HD is almost at the level of photo realism. Go and look at some videos of both.
I showed some older relatives Gran Turismo 5 and they thought it was a real TV broadcast of a real race. These are people who are 100% objective and watch formula 1 racing.
@ojideagu: Going back to the SNK Capcom thing for a minute, I remember you saying that Capcom created the Combo system? That's actually not true. Street Smart from SNK which was released in 1989 was on of the first fighting games that you could link moves together to create combos. And there were a few other games before it that did the same, Capcom just improved on the idea.
@Imadeyourun I played Street Smart when it came out and it was one of my favourite games before Street Fighter came out. However it's combo system was no better than Final Fight which came out the same year and can also link moves.
@Imadeyourun One thing I think you're missing is that the more technology progresses the closer you reach a plateau compared to reality and the less dramatic changes appear. Look at a game like Dirt 2. If you put a camera on a REAL car in a dirt race, it would look very similar on TV. Unless you want to re-engineer life itself and the human eye, the limit of progress will obviously seem less dramatic with each generation as it gets closer and closer to reality.

@Imadeyourun In fact you can create a mathematical formula to explain it. The closer each generation gets to graphical realism, the less dramatic the next generation improvement appears.
Playstation 6 will not look much better than Playstation 5, purely because there is a limit to what our eyes and brain perceive as reality.
@ojideagu: That's if the world is still around for a PS5 or 6. But even if there still is a world, I really don't think there will be a PS 5 or 6, or any Xboxes are Wiis. Most games in the future will most likely be played on PC and handheld devices.
@Imadeyourun The future may be like cloud devices instead of consoles. So everybody just logs in to servers and plays games like the cloud service. Of course handheld devices will ALWAYS exist, and I have always liked hand held games. But it depends on Sony. I can't see PC gaming killing consoles, even today with the power of PC's, consoles still have a huge market because they are easy to plug in and play, unlike PC's.
@ojideagu: Why does it have to depend on Sony? Sony isn't the only game console developer you know, they weren't even the first. Also they've barley contributed anything innovative to gaming. If it were to be any console developer to which anything would depend on it's Nintendo. Besides, how are we not sure that in a few years the whole world won't be in economical or global turmoil? People cold be fighting over bread and water?
@Imadeyourun Sony weren't the first, but they revolutionised the console market way beyond anyone else. Nintendo pulled out of their deal with Sony for a console, the worst mistake Nintendo ever made. Sony's business model was totally different to Nintendo and especially Sega and Atari. Sega and Atari, the veteran's of consoles, are no nowhere to be seen because they didn't understand the console market and went bankrupt. Sony know what the hell they were doing when the Veterans didn't..
@ojideagu: Actually, Sony didn't revolutionize anything. What they did was make making gaming a bit too mainstream and they did that by bullying their way on to the market. And Nintendo didn't pull out of a console deal with Sony. Sony merely went to Nintendo with a proposal to create a CD add on for the Super Nintendo. Nintendo gave it some though, but after seeing how well the Sega CD was doing, Nintendo made the right choice by saying, "No thanks". It was later released as the PS1.
@Imadeyourun Totally bullshit. Nintendo made the WRONG choice. Hence the reason Nintendo was Hemorrhaging financial lost with both the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, because Sony was out selling and outperforming Nintendo in every category. Perhaps you need to do your research before opening your fat mouth.
@Jemini29944: You need to learn to read. I wasn't talking about N64 or GameCube, you goddamn fanboy. I was talking about they days of the Snes. Even Sony themselves say that the PS1 was originally hard were left over from their deal with Nintendo to manufacture a CD add on the the Snes. If you know nothing about gaming history beyond the PS1, don't start typing. Fucking fan boys make me sick. :-/
@Imadeyourun THere's virtually nothing you can say, because you've just proven yourself to be an idiot. Are you even a gamer? You know nothing about the gaming industry. Here's what you need to do.......get on a diet, find another activity besides video games, and get a girlfriend. Fuck outta here.....
@Jemini29944: I've been playing video games since fucking pong! How long have you been playing? And there's no need for me to go on a diet, except to maybe burn some excess fat and get totally ripped. On top of that, I don't play video games much anymore, I kinda lost interest when everything became about FPS's. You say that I have proven myself and idiot, but you have proven yourself to be a whinny little faggot that only talks from his ass. You probably gotta bleached asshole, faggot!
@Eyeolus And what were the sales numbers between PS1 vs N64 and PS2 vs. Gamecube, huh? Which system had better games and a variety of games to choose from? Which system had a solid format for Game storage? SONY, that's who. You need to hope off of Miyamoto's nutsack and admit that the Playstation outperformed and outclassed Nintendo.
@Jemini29944 Sales numbers is irrelevant to what I've just said. You specifically said "Sony outperformed Nintendo in every area", which clearly was incorrect. Also, if sales numbers is your retort; I guess I can say the Wii curb stomped the PS3 and 360, right?
The only thing Sony really had was format, and little else in both eras. I guess if online play/backwards compatibility was your bag, then that may be another PS2 "advantage".
I'm on nobodies "nutsack", fanboy faggot. Unlike you. :P
@ojideagu: That's if the world is still around for a PS5 or 6. But even if there still is a world, I really don't think there will be a PS 5 or 6, or any Xboxes are Wiis. Most games in the future will most likely be played on PC and handheld devices.
@Phillies64 Hey I agree, if it's in the game, it's in the game. But I like it when a company fixes a flawed system, which SNK has done more than once.
hell yeh..ill always respect SNK for innovating that concept. Thats why as much as i love SF im more anxious to play KOFXIII then i am to play MVC3..dope lookin game though dont get me wrong. But Kof 13 is that back to the roots hard core (zoom in and outs) vibe and in full blast 2D....great for a 90s arcade veteran like myself
@demonkai76 While you play KOFXIII, be sure to also play Psikyo's Daraku Tenshi - The Fallen Angels. One of SNKP's employees worked on that before moving to SNK. KOFXII and KOFXIII might be using the same sprite drawing and animating method of Psikyo's fighting game.

my god this game is really annoying... i love the franchise, but fuck this game.

They were just not as popular as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
ojideagu 10 months ago
@jowrab
very amsuin history lesson there lol
demonkai76 11 months ago
@jowrab Ryo is to Chester Cheetah and Ryu is to Pink Panther. They look similar, because they were created by the same creator for different companies. Robert was modeled after Steven Seagal. If you see Han Baedal from Viccom's Fight Fever and ever wondered why he resembles Ryu, don't just think that, think of him as a tribute to both Ryu and Ryo. I highly doubt Fight Fever's a pirated version of SNK's fighting games, because Viccom was SNK's Korean distributor. SNK most likely assisted them.

demonkai76 1 year ago 2
@demonkai76 Not really, Fatal Fury 2 had desperation moves although AOF was released first, FF 2 was in development first. Either way though SNK introduced tons of concepts that Capcom ripped off, most notably the super combo and the team concept.
theshooter2000 11 months ago 2
@theshooter2000
haha yeh thats what im sayin^^. From what i remember AOF back in the day at the arcades was the first one to have those life low come back beat down supers. FF2 (special) ended up being the same. And hell yeh Capcom ripped off that "Super move" concept from Snk. this i know of hands down lol. thats why i always liked Snk now matter how much i favored the Capcom "animated Design" more.
demonkai76 11 months ago 2
@demonkai76 lol, AOF had the super that could be done from full life, but you had to recharge to use it again, making it harder to abuse the system. I always notice how much Capcom rips off SNK, WTF is PARRY??? It's called "JUST DEFEND" (Garou MOTW) and it's not unlimited Capcom! AOF is a prequel to FF, what does Capcom do? SFA. I could go on, but you get my point. And oh yeah, give us real conclusions. Bison never dies? WHY? Geese (in FF), Goenitz and Orochi are all gone. Capcom = unoriginal.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 Street Fighter came out first, so the ultimate ripp off is still SNK, 80% of the
fighting game standard idea's came from Street Fighter.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu SF is not the first fighting game. I guess you didn't read any of the education laid out on this page. The guys that developed the first SF, went to SNK, but weren't allowed to bring Ryu with them. So they made fun of him and Ken by making AOF. AOF pretty much shows the flaws of SF and how to fix them. Dan shows no flaws of AOF or SNK. Hence, Capcom lost that battle.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 AOF has TERRIBLE game play, it plays like wood, it feels like card board cut outs fighting.
AOF has never had good game play. Why do you Street Fighter 2 was so huge? It CREATED the modern 1-1 Genre because the gameplay was so smooth and flowing.
SNK game play has always tried to catch up but been a pale imitation with wooden animation and combos.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu First of all, you're stating nothing but straight up opinions. 2nd, clearly many people love the AOF game play as it had sequels and is still a sought after item today. AOF 3 is said to be some of the sweetest fighting game gameplay in history (Which, I'm sure you never played). Street Fighter 2 was huge, because anyone could play it. Hell my aunt played it in a bar and found it fun. You can't do that with a Neo Geo game, you'll get squashed pure and simple. Again, the modern 1 on 1
theshooter2000 11 months ago

& the main title font...
tremorinmysoul 2 years ago
@tremorinmysoul I always felt that AoF was a parody of SF2 showing how to fix the problems of SF2 like spamming fireballs. If you notice most SNK games are hard to win by spamming special moves of all sorts (although many have tried), which is why I've always felt the gameplay was better. There is no Daigo of SNK gaming because there is no one way of exploiting SNK characters because if there is, SNK will fix it the next game (Like Ralf from KOF 96 being changed in 97).
theshooter2000 11 months ago 4
@theshooter2000
you hit it right on the head 100% in the different between KOF and SF. you cant spam city shit and get away with it like that. It took more technical skill in its own way to get over. and correct again about Ralph from 96-97. i was kinda annoyed that happend cuz i loved usin ralph that way for folks who try to pin me down with cheap tactics lol But i still favor the ralph 94. it felt good to win with him because it took skill to use him and beat a good player with the AOF team
demonkai76 11 months ago 2
@demonkai76 lol, Even spamming in KOF requires 2-3 backup plans because it wont work 99% of the time. That's why Daigo wont touch them, it's not as easy as hadoken, shoryuken then cancel to super hadouken. I also hated the change of Ralf from 96-97, but it made sense from a vs. standpoint. It's hard as hell to stop him once he starts that combo and has unlimited supers, but I was able to do with Geese all the time (Raging Storm). The Ikari team has always been dangerous, I loved Heidern in 95.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@demonkai76
yeh i see you are a KOF fan like me lol. you didnt say anything wrong again. all true. yeh ralph 96 i used to like using for cheap apponents all the time.

@theshooter2000 Street Fighter had their own parody of Art Of Fighting with DAN.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu Yeah, but it was lame. What is the point of Dan? It accomplished nothing and proved nothing. Funny enough Dan is more popular than some of SF's shitty characters. Why? Because Ryo and Robert are better than SF's shitty characters.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 All SNK's characters were a ripp off of Street Fighter 2 characters. I mean Look at Ryo.
That's why Capcom created Dan to make a joke of Robert. Without Street fighter there wouldn't be any SNK fighting games.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu Clearly you didn't read what I just wrote. Maybe I need to dumb it down further for you. The guy that invented Ryu was fired by Capcom b4 SF2 came out and created FF. Did you know FF was in development before Street Fighter 2? Bet not. BTW, without Yie Ar Kung Fu there would be no Street Fighter as they came up with the modern day concept in 1985 dumbass. BTW, Capcom is a hybrid of Ryo AND Robert, not just Robert. Once again, you prove you know nothing.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 Street Fighter 2 created the modern blueprint which lasted decades, fact. Everything before was a stepping stone. I guess you weren't around when it came out to understand how revolutionary it was in game play. I guess you have a very narrow/selective memory.
Next you will be saying Doom was not revolutionary.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu Street Fighter 2 did not create the modern blueprint. Yie Ar King Fu did. Clearly I'm older than you if I know what that game is and you don't. The only thing you have to refute my argument is to attack me (classic ad hominem attack). Not only was I around when SF2 came out, there was an FF arcade next to it and I'd say for a while they were neck and neck for quarters on the weekends until Champion Edition came out. SF2 only contributed one thing to gameplay, combos and those were a

Don't Kid yourself STREET FIGHTER 2 was a revolution, the true leap in modern fighting games.
I was playing Way of the Exploding fist, all of these games. None of them hold a candle to what
Street Fighter 2 created. NONE.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu Again, you're putting words in my mouth. When did I ever say it was NOT revolutionary??? I just said, it didn't contribute much to actual gameplay. It did contribute to fanbase, I admit that. Congratulations, you played other games, big deal. Street Fighter 2 is great. I love it. Do I prefer Neo Geo games? Yes. Did Neo Geo rip off Capcom? No, if you create something and go somewhere else and create a similar product, you can't rip yourself off. It's impossible.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 You're talking as if Street Fighter 2 was just another beat-em-up spin off or variation of SNK fighting games. Total disrespect and twisting of history. SNK games were not a boil on the arse of what Street Fighter created.
Look at World Heroes. EVERY damn fighting game tried to copy the Street Fighter 2 formula in the early 90's.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu What an idiot. World Heroes wasn't even developed by SNK! Go read a goddamn wiki or something because even that would be better your knowledge. It was developed FOR not BY the Neo Geo MVS and AES systems.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 STADIUM EVENTS on NES is probably the worlds most valuable game, and that game is complete SHIT. What a pointless argument.
The most expensive Neo Geo games are PAL, purely because it was never officially released in Europe
and Pal Games are rare.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 Are you seriously that deluded? Street fighter 2 Gameplay was a REVOLUTION. Did it ever occur to you that's why it was so damn popular in the first place???
SNK were jerking themselves off constantly trying to get that flow and fluid feel and constantly failed.
If you seriously think any AOF gameplay is good, then there is little point talking further.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu were a glitch in the original game. Everything else Capcom did was a ripoff of some other company (Super moves, parries, tech throws, etc). As for Doom, I wouldn't know. I avoid all first person shooters.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 If you were truly around in that era and followed all the magazine reviews and PEOPLE, and played them at the time. EVERYBODY thought street fighter 2 was a revolution. It was
nearly as big as Space Invaders.
SNK games were known as a pale imitation at the time. Only Samurai Showdown was anything different. The AOF series was a total joke. Only the late King of Fighters games and Fatal Fury 2/3 were any good.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu When you learn to argue with anything other than logical fallacies (ad hominem again) and other emotional appeals, maybe I'll respond. Maybe. For now, I'll just leave your comments to speak for themselves.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 I don't recall any SNK game creating the huge rush to get a SNES console. Street Fighter 2 nearly sold the console by itself. Everybody wanted Street Fighter 2 on the SNES. EVERYBODY.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu Last I recall the Zelda game and other titles created a pretty huge goddamn rush to get the SNES. How many owners of the Neo Geo have you heard of? I own one. How many CPS-1, CPS-2 system owners do you know? Probably little if any. The SNK games created a huge rush for people to buy the Neo Geo. Oh and BTW, it holds the record for highest selling game on Ebay at 14,000 for Kizuna Encounter. When did Crapcom's CPS ever get those kind of numbers on their own system? HAHAHA!
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 Neo Geo games are worth money because they were rare and expensive. It's got nothing whatsoever to do with gameplay or quality you fool.
Kizuna Encounter PAL version is worth a lot purely because Neo Geo games were very rarely ever made for PAL and only a few were made. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON.
Try and learn why games are valuable.
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu What difference does it make shithead? You make your dumbass correlations of SF2 and SNES so I'll make mine of Kizuna Encounter and Neo Geo. I just proved that your argument is useless. Now go fuck yourself. PS. John is better than Guile, Geese is better than Bison and Terry Bogard is awesome. Go blow a Ryu cosplayer you piece of shit.
theshooter2000 11 months ago
@theshooter2000 Kizuna Encounter is valuable because there are only 12 PAL copies in the world.
What the fuck has that got to do with Street Fighter's 's revolutionary gameplay and SNK's
poor imitation characters and gameplay?
ojideagu 11 months ago
@ojideagu: Dude, I wouldn't say SNK's characters are poor. The characters if the fatal fury and king of fighters games made Capcoms characters look like some shit form the Flintstones. :-/
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun SNK characters were always poor rip offs of Capcom. Hence why Capcom created Dan to mock SNK. A few Fatal Fury and KOF characters are memorable, but not many.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: I agree that a few were, but not all. And the ones that were ripoffs made Capcom's Characters look like something you'd buy from Fisher Price. At least SNK doesn't head swap their characters and claim it a new one, they have a varied character roaster that's just teeming with wicked personalities and style. And on top of that, almost every innovation in fighting games was created bay SNK, most of which Capcom are only just beginning to implement into their games.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun You cannot deny the game play of the AOF games is garbage, all 3 games.
KOF is much better but bloated by tons of forgetable repetitive characters. There are about 7 SNK characters I like.
And as I said, Neo Geo home console cartridges are not very expensive at all, even brand new.
If people just wanted to play the games they would buy those, not the expensive arcade carts.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: AOF's game play wasn't bad, it was just different. Also it was very difficult for novice players to just pick up and beat veterans by just spamming moves. SNK fighter have always been more technical and are. And you say KOF characters are forgettable? Have you know that SNK Characters as a whole are more popular among cos players in Japan, Europe and, the USA with Guilty gear characters next. Characters have always been boring and bland when compared to SNK characters.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@ojideagu: " I don't recall any SNK game creating the huge rush to get a SNES console."
Why would anyone rush to get a Snes b/c of an SNK game, the Snes versions of SNK games sucked ass and everone knew that the Neogeo was the only way to go for SNK games, even if they cost an arm and a leg. I bet you wouldn't find someone willing to buy any Capcom game for $200 or more.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun When Street Fighter 2 came out for the SNES many people WERE willing to pay over $200 to get it early, it was the most wanted game in history at the time. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 31 and was around at the time. Street Fighter 2 was the most wanted and speculated release on ALL consoles. The same when Super Street Fighter 2 came out for the SNES, some people paid well over the asking price.
The Neo Geo never had a game like that. Even if it was made cheaper.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: I know what people were willing to pay for SF, but for me it was never worth it. Especially since there was the prospect of Capcom later ripping you of by re-releasing the game a number of times with newer features. And also, when the King of fighters 2000 first came out, there were people paying up to 1,200 0r more to one of the first to get the game. And even still today, Neo Geo carts are being auctioned of for more than 25k, Metal slug 3 being one of those games. And btw, I'm 38.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun Those carts are desired by nerds who only want them because they are rare. If they just wanted to play Metal Slug 3 you can get the MVS Neo Geo cartridge for $50 on Ebay. It's the arcade
cartridges that are valuable, not the Neo Geo console cartridges. And the games are identical.
Stadium Events by Nintendo is worth $100k and it's one of the worst games in history.
Street Fighter 2 on SNES people paid that because they wanted to PLAY the game at home, not because it was rare.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: And for your information, MVS carts (arcade) are cheaper than AES (home console). And the people who buy those expensive Neo Geo carts do in fact play them. It's always better to play the game on it's original system. And don't get me wrong, I play SF and I love like the game, it's just that a game gets boring after doing the same exact moves for 20 years. At least SNK had the audacity to change their characters fighting styles and moves up from time to to break the monotony.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun Ok, whatever way round it is, the point is, the cheaper carts are out there. If someone really just wanted the game, they would get the MVS cart, not waste hundreds or thousands on an AES. They are collectors not gamers.
SNK games were/are interesting because they are different to street fighter. I quite liked KOF, I just found the gameplay a bit clunky and stiff. I don't like the combo system as much.
KOF does have a big following in Japan, but then Japan is full of obsessives.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Not many people who are more accustomed to street get the hang of the KOF series. The KOF series was one of those fighting game that killed the turtle players (I really hated that in the SF games), it was created for true experts and the combo system was more advanced than any other SF game. Also it brought many new features to fighters, such as, the high/low jumps, evasion moves, and more. KOF isn't for the novice player. It's one of the most technical fighters out there.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun I played KOF and Fatal Fury in the mid 90's. To me it feels stiff compared to street fighter. AOF is an exaggeration of this. AOF is like playing with cardboard characters.
To me the animation in KOF doesn't flow, it's very angular and abrupt. Street Fighter feels smooth and the animation moves link together fluidly and feel natural, which is what made it popular. KOF The animation and the way the moves link seems unnatural. it feels flat and stiff.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Yeah, SF may have had more fluid animation, but more frames of animation doesn't make it a better game. And about the controls, the stiffness of control is one of the best things about KOF. The controls were made for more experienced fighting game fans. Also most characters moves are done with the same basic commands in SF. There's really not much variety when it comes to SF. Especially not with all the head-swapped Ryu clones. That alone is a testament to capcoms lack of creativity
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun Anyway we have different tastes in animation styles. KOF leaves me cold. King of Fighters 13 seems much the same. Thin skinny characters with fast incoherent animation and combos.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: I really don't like KOF13. In my opinion, 2000 was the last good KOF game , and Alpha 3 the last good SF game.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago

Lol.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun I don't see KOF being more difficult, it's just a lot stiffer and unnatural. One simple way I could call it is ugly. The combo's are ugly. To me the way Ryu and Ken's move's flow is so stylish and feels so natural. That is why they have persisted for 20 years.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Yeah, 20 years of the same tiresome shit. I'm thinking you probably got your ass handed to you by someone who plays KOF. Even people who only now how to play SF get beaten badly by people who play both KOF and SF. I would guess it's b/c KOF players have better reflexes and SF is just so basic and easy for them. SF is where you begin when you first get into fighters. And when you are ready for a bigger challenge, you move on to KOF. SF is only training wheels for more technical games.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun Play SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos and look at how the Street Fighter characters are animated and how they play. They have the same problems as SNK games, they look stiff and feel stiff.
It's nothing to do with difficulty, Capcom simply has better animation and physics skills. KOF animation is very bad and stilted. The kicks and punches are all at weird angles.
ojideagu 5 months ago

If they could make a KOF that looked like King Of Fighrters 12 but with the gameplay of the best KOF games I would buy that.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: "If they could make a KOF that looked like King Of Fighrters 12 but with the gameplay of the best KOF games I would buy that."
SNKPlaymore took their fans complaints about the game play in KOF 12 not feeling like previous KOF games and claimed that that 13 would have the feeling of the older KOFs. I tried it, it's close, but still not perfect. But anyway, I guess that I should be happy that SNKPlaymore (I hate the playmore part) didn't give up on hand drawn games like Capcom did. :(
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun I don't know what they can do then to get back the old gameplay
While hand drawn games are very nice, I think SSF4 Turbo looks great graphically, if a little chunky. Personally after 30 years I'm bored with 2D sprite fighters and prefer the new pseudo 3D style.
Although there is a market for both.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Yeah, there is a market for both, but personally I just don't like them. I don't see anything amazing about 3D graphics. The thing about SF, I was afraid that it would play similar to SFEX. And for some characters that is true. And drawn sprites are a real testimony to a companies real artistic abilities.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun For 2D hand drawn games to survive they have to evolve. The animation has to be of a high quality, not a few frames. I don't want to be stuck in a world where it's the same shit for 30 years! I want evolution.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: And that's why Capcom should have never gave up on 2D sprites claiming they did all they could do. Tell me, how far has 3D graphics evolved? Even though they are so easy to make, there really hasn't been much evolving with them. On top of that, 3D graphics tend to become boring after a while. There is no real showing of artistic ability with 3D graphics. It's the same reason why Computer generated animation hasn't overtaking hand drawn animation.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun Computer generated animation HAS overtaken hand drawn animation in the cinema, by a long distance. Disney have all but abandoned 2D, so have all major studios. Even TV cartoons are animated with computers. I think you vastly underestimate the skill needed to create 3D graphics. It takes just as much skill as hand drawing.
You are anesthetized to the amazing advance in 3D games because it's so common. Like a Billionaire who is bored of money.
The quality of 3D today is incredible.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Disney is but one company, how about all the Japanese animation developers? And anyhow, who gives a shit about gay ass Disney? None of there 3D crap will ever be as good as their old hand drawn classics.

@Imadeyourun Have you actually used 3D programmes to see the skill involved? You have rose tinted glasses. I suggest you go through videos of gaming history and see how far 3D games have come.

@Imadeyourun Have you used a 3D programme to be qualified to judge how "easy" it is? I suggest you go through videos of video gaming history to see how far 3D gaming and cinema has evolved.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: No, but I know someone who does. And also game developers say that rendering games in 3D are far more less time consuming than hand drawing every character and background and foreground by hand. It should be common sense anyway.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun That's like saying word processing is inferior to a typewriter because it takes longer with a typewriter. Generating 3D models and backgrounds from scratch take a long time and great skill.
As a kid 3D graphics were the holy grail that everyone battled for, it drove advances in technology. It was mind blowing when you saw games such as Ridge Racer.
Now it's so common the rose tinted glasses come out and it's taken for granted like it's nothing. Technology today
is incredible.

@Imadeyourun If you want to see evolution, play Gran Turismo 2, and then play Gran Turismo 5 in HD. Nothing more needs to be said.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun You think 3D hasn't evolved much? Play Gran Turismo 2, and then play Gran Turismo 5 in HD. Then come back and tell me that.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: I saw that game. And no, it hasn't evolved much, and even if they were to evolve further, it they wouldn't do so on a home console system. If you look at 3D game form the late ninties up to now, there hasn't been a big leap in graphics.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun You cannot be that deluded surely? Have you actually seen Gran Turismo 2 and 5 next to each other in REAL LIFE? It's like saying Street Fighter 3 is similar to Karate Champ. Gran Turismo 5 in HD is almost at the level of photo realism. Go and look at some videos of both.
I showed some older relatives Gran Turismo 5 and they thought it was a real TV broadcast of a real race. These are people who are 100% objective and watch formula 1 racing.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Going back to the SNK Capcom thing for a minute, I remember you saying that Capcom created the Combo system? That's actually not true. Street Smart from SNK which was released in 1989 was on of the first fighting games that you could link moves together to create combos. And there were a few other games before it that did the same, Capcom just improved on the idea.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago

Playstation 6 will not look much better than Playstation 5, purely because there is a limit to what our eyes and brain perceive as reality.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: That's if the world is still around for a PS5 or 6. But even if there still is a world, I really don't think there will be a PS 5 or 6, or any Xboxes are Wiis. Most games in the future will most likely be played on PC and handheld devices.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun The future may be like cloud devices instead of consoles. So everybody just logs in to servers and plays games like the cloud service. Of course handheld devices will ALWAYS exist, and I have always liked hand held games. But it depends on Sony. I can't see PC gaming killing consoles, even today with the power of PC's, consoles still have a huge market because they are easy to plug in and play, unlike PC's.
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Why does it have to depend on Sony? Sony isn't the only game console developer you know, they weren't even the first. Also they've barley contributed anything innovative to gaming. If it were to be any console developer to which anything would depend on it's Nintendo. Besides, how are we not sure that in a few years the whole world won't be in economical or global turmoil? People cold be fighting over bread and water?
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun Sony weren't the first, but they revolutionised the console market way beyond anyone else. Nintendo pulled out of their deal with Sony for a console, the worst mistake Nintendo ever made. Sony's business model was totally different to Nintendo and especially Sega and Atari. Sega and Atari, the veteran's of consoles, are no nowhere to be seen because they didn't understand the console market and went bankrupt. Sony know what the hell they were doing when the Veterans didn't..
ojideagu 5 months ago
@ojideagu: Actually, Sony didn't revolutionize anything. What they did was make making gaming a bit too mainstream and they did that by bullying their way on to the market. And Nintendo didn't pull out of a console deal with Sony. Sony merely went to Nintendo with a proposal to create a CD add on for the Super Nintendo. Nintendo gave it some though, but after seeing how well the Sega CD was doing, Nintendo made the right choice by saying, "No thanks". It was later released as the PS1.
Imadeyourun 5 months ago
@Imadeyourun Totally bullshit. Nintendo made the WRONG choice. Hence the reason Nintendo was Hemorrhaging financial lost with both the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, because Sony was out selling and outperforming Nintendo in every category. Perhaps you need to do your research before opening your fat mouth.
Jemini29944 4 months ago

Jemini29944 4 months ago
@Jemini29944: I've been playing video games since fucking pong! How long have you been playing? And there's no need for me to go on a diet, except to maybe burn some excess fat and get totally ripped. On top of that, I don't play video games much anymore, I kinda lost interest when everything became about FPS's. You say that I have proven myself and idiot, but you have proven yourself to be a whinny little faggot that only talks from his ass. You probably gotta bleached asshole, faggot!
Imadeyourun 4 months ago
@Jemini29944 >Sony outperforming Nintendo in every category.
Bullshit, the 64 and Gamecube were proven to have more powerful hardware than the likes of the PS1 and PS2, respectively.
Perhaps you need to research before pulling horse shit out your ass, Sonydrone.
Eyeolus 4 months ago
@Eyeolus And what were the sales numbers between PS1 vs N64 and PS2 vs. Gamecube, huh? Which system had better games and a variety of games to choose from? Which system had a solid format for Game storage? SONY, that's who. You need to hope off of Miyamoto's nutsack and admit that the Playstation outperformed and outclassed Nintendo.
Jemini29944 4 months ago
@Jemini29944 Sales numbers is irrelevant to what I've just said. You specifically said "Sony outperformed Nintendo in every area", which clearly was incorrect. Also, if sales numbers is your retort; I guess I can say the Wii curb stomped the PS3 and 360, right?
The only thing Sony really had was format, and little else in both eras. I guess if online play/backwards compatibility was your bag, then that may be another PS2 "advantage".
I'm on nobodies "nutsack", fanboy faggot. Unlike you. :P

hell yeh..ill always respect SNK for innovating that concept. Thats why as much as i love SF im more anxious to play KOFXIII then i am to play MVC3..dope lookin game though dont get me wrong. But Kof 13 is that back to the roots hard core (zoom in and outs) vibe and in full blast 2D....great for a 90s arcade veteran like myself
demonkai76 1 year ago 3
@demonkai76 While you play KOFXIII, be sure to also play Psikyo's Daraku Tenshi - The Fallen Angels. One of SNKP's employees worked on that before moving to SNK. KOFXII and KOFXIII might be using the same sprite drawing and animating method of Psikyo's fighting game.
