This is American classical music. Where Vilvaldi is studied when learning of Italy and baroque or Mozart is discussed when speaking of Austria and Bohemia, so Glenn Miller will be mentioned 200 years from now when The United States is the topic. Few composers capture the feel of his nation and time as he did. It really is that simple.
