  • fake

  • ese es el primer raptor que hicieron el segundo y que anda a x2 la velocidad del sonido

  • super drifting anyone?

  • How would the wheels cope

  • @conkstheman solid aluminium wheels

  • they should put the superman logo on the froont after all it is faster than a speeding bullet

  • saw bloodhound at santapod this year, the thing looks like a beast.

  • Thumbs up for a Need For Speed SSC Racing game!

  • @RandomStuff9177 how would you turn?

  • @Albzsure Maybe the tracks would be straight...

  • Maybe the driver does not like it if the vehicle goes too fast like that.

  • what happened to the scorpian? O.o

  • @roblehman5 The team plan to start trial runs in mid 2012. Maybe they'll be ready to go for the record later in 2012.

  • i want to see a motor driven car .. not jets on wheels

  • @bc71766 tough shit

  • Comment removed

  • the british are to confident with this there saying it will break the land speed record and it will beat this juet fighter when they havent even run this car yet quit being cocky and showing animations that arent backed up and actualy run this car to prove that it does what u say it can

  • @dk9613 i beleive they allready hold the record with thrust ssc, blood hound is there new ride and can theoretically reach this speed,i kinda agree with what your saying but if anyone can do it,these guys can.

  • @dk9613 They already hold the land speed record and they have already broken the sound barrier in a car, so if anyone has bragging rights, it is this team.

  • In real world eurofighter would win, may be not develop its top speed at that altitude bit for sure is supersonic at sea level, specialy with its supercruiser hability.

  • The guy in the jet was like fuck this guy he can go kill himself. Lmao.

  • fucking stoopid cartoons give me tom n jerry

  • Does anyone know is there is a conversion from thrust to hp?

  • @biograph16 There isn't a direct conversion as they are both different forces, it can be approximated at 133,000 thrust horse power (or 180 F1 cars)

  • To think about it, if a catastrophic failure were to happen at target speed, or close to, you could simply have a seperate pod that was streamline, but easily removed, and just have two sets of wings that popped out at the right angle and this thing would fly into the air and a normal parachute would be all you would need to achieve the right decent rate, due to the carbon fiber monocoque's light weight that is likely used...

  • Why is Britain the only country that's bothering with the land-speed record? :< The last three records were ours, and it looks like it's going to be the same with the fourth.

  • @Kookas Because we're a country that still believes - and invests in - science. It's forcing problems to be solved and progress to be made.

  • @Kookas We wanna see how fast a land vehicle can go.... why should we stop?

Btw.... there are at leat 3 teams trying to beat the land speed record.

  • the worlds fastest jet or plane i think is the sr-71 blackbird

  • I saw This in the guinnes world records!

  • another example of humans wasting time and other resources for such a stupid thing. Good engineering, though. but how about achieving something actually usefull for mankind??? You could be "proud" of being british, but we can all be ashamed of being humans...

  • @daagusutube id rather we all had fun on this planet than walked around like fucking zombies thanks. Personally I think stuff like this is what being human is all about. We've got emotions, it would be a terrible waste not to use them. It really saddens me when people spend their lives moaning about how shit the world is and how selfish everyone is, get a grip we're all humans just trying to live enjoyable lives. There's no reason at all these people should feel guilty for doing this.

  • @daagusutube Well if the world was full of people like you then it would be a very boring place. Its called a challenge and without people taking on these challenges we would still be in the dark ages.

  • another example of humans wasting time and other resources for such a stupid thing. Good engineering, though. but how about achieving something actually usefull for mankind?

  • its just such a shame that a eurofighter can go 1500mph, and not just 1000mph, cos this is a really impressive cartoon demonstration and makes me exited to watch the real test of the car

  • The scorpion was the fastest, he just teleported to where the car arrived at the end of the video xD

  • whats its 0-100 time ?

  • @shawnhbkdx90 About 15 seconds

  • @shawnhbkdx90 About 15 seconds

  • i really wanna find a non cg video of this thing is action. this just doesnt do it justice

  • @hudg7630 They haven't actually finished it yet. There's an engine-less dummy, but not the real thing :P

  • @mcgherkinstudios i know i just read thats what their going to use, but still i cant wait, its gonna be nuts.

  • scorpion like WHAT. THE. HECK.

  • is the v12 engine for reaching regular speeds first? (0-200mph+)?

  • @Themayseffect no the v12 is for delivering fuel to the rocket bahaha

  • NO THE SCORPIONS IS THE FASTER!

  • I like it!

  • The British will get the record with this for sure, with 47000 pounds of thrust.

  • I love the fact that in a car the speed-o reads in mach ^^

  • Anyone else expecting the pilot to honk his horn 3 times to begin race?

  • show me in reality and i might scream :P

  • WTF??? 1080P IN 480???

  • Top speed of eurofighter is 1300 mph.... should have won

  • @RedPhoenix230 da blood hound wen mach 1.38 1380 mph ???

  • @awsomeing

Mach = Speed of sound or about 760mph

    Mach 1.38 is 760 + 38% of 760 = 288

    So thats 760 + 288 = 1048

    Just over 1000 mph ^_^

  • move the rocket back to the top!!!!! the sudden increase of power could cause a wheelie and certain death of the driver! if its on the top, it will go down, and allow better steering!!!

  • lol im pretty sure a euro fighter can go faster than mach 1??

  • That video would have been BADASS if at the very end it slammed into a wall at Mach 1.

  • holy crap, this video made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Good job

  • first of all, when will they test this, and second of all, i have my own design, using the original thrust ssc design, with raised dual engines, mini srb ( solid rocket booster) and 10 second burn rockets on top, with stability fins and heat resistant coating.

  • If the Eurofighter lost that race then it is slower than I would have guessed.

  • I'd drive this on the highway lol

  • LOL

  • The SSC part stands for Super Sonic Car, there is no involvement from or link with the American SSC car company.

  • 2:06 That would hurt a scorpion

  • @nipples2k9 ssc is owned by americans, but that ssc is being built by the British so it's a win win.

  • Max speed of an eurofighter At sea level: Mach 1.2[183] (1,470 km/h / 913.2 mph) which would make it slower then the car assuming that they are racing at sea level.

  • 1,38 Mach ?!?!?!?!

    daaaamn

  • All those people saying the eurofighter can go mach 1.5...yes it can...BUT that is only at high altitudes where the air is thin...at ground level like that the drag is too high for the eurofighter to reach it...the bloodhound however (if it works) WILL reach 1000mph at ground level...I hope andy green and richard noble can do it again and make me proud to be british.

  • The Eurofighter goes 1550mph and the car 1050mph see the difference.

  • this video is fake the euro fighter typhoon goes 1550 mph and is not classified

  • wtf :O

    nice lol

  • look we have made something better than the Americans

  • Eurofighter cannot achieve it's top speed at low altitude. The record for a jet at low altitude is 984mph, so Bloodhound would be faster.....

  • @abioape is that because the air is denser at low alt?

  • hell eurofighter maxium speed is between Mach 1.2 and Mach 1.5, the bloodhound in the end is showing the speed mach 1.37, Eurofighter can go faster. talk about lame match up

  • lol niceeeeeeeeeee

  • Es un proyecto real, se intentará superar la velocidad de 1000 millas por hora en 2011. Realmente da miedo.

  • amazing!!!

  • Cool video!

  • Lol First thing I thought was GMod

  • How's it going lads?

No need for me to say to be fucking ultimate geeky in your work, that is all you have to be, just remember the simple thing, make the book, follow the book, and as long you spent enough time making the book, the checkpoints to a success 'might' happen. But you've got to make dur you are in a good position at the start line.

  • unlike Paddy Thomas.........

  • 3d crap

  • awesome

  • Very cool!!

  • Present day people are obviousley totally pants frightened of sharpe edged engineering talked here and elsewhere, tell them we need to change your oil, and they would become ostrich.

May your sensors be strong lads, and never let you down. But if one does, just let me know and I will send the lads round to sort him. : )

  • lol that scorpion was like fuck that!

  • Good Luck!

  • It really is unbelieveable but remember this fictional race is at low altitude and the car almost certainly will win if the team doesn't come up against any insurmountable barriers! Also check out one of the other official videos that shows this car will iterally be faster than a speeding bullet!

  • Sorry for typo - near the end should have read "will literally be faster than a speeding bullet"

  • My money is on the scorpion...they dont tend to explode...lol

  • OK, I know this was simply a computer graphic, but where in South Africa can you operate a 1000 mph car?

  • on the Hakskeen pan apparently, up near the Namibian border. They must know what they are doing. On their website they say where the nearest SA town is, can't remember myself.

  • Thank you for that! I shall be following this story with interest, it looks another world record by us British. :)

    Regards

    Peter.

  • No probs. But I really hope they know what they are doing- over 1000mph in a car!!!. Barking mad us Brits are!

  • It was not THAT long ago that people with flags walked in front of cars. Then us 'barking mad' Brits decided enough was enough, and our engineers have led the world ever since!

    Regards

    Peter

PS, That should 'earn'a few comments :)

  • that flag carrying was due to the horse riding flatearthers, still alive these days at such places as Hickstead and Badmington- those places with carparks full of horse-box trailed £50,000 Range Rovers.......

  • it has got to be a true flat surface- get mcalpines army in to sort it out, beef and guinness on tap, o ay!

  • i know the designer, Ben evans :)

  • Well supposedly the Eurofighter can reach around mach 1.2 at sea level, which is less than 1000mph, so if the Bloodhound does actually reach the speed it's aiming for, it may go faster. However, a value of "mach 1.2" is a rather general speed rating, so how fast the Eurofighter can actually go is another matter. I'm willing to bet things will be pretty close, and if the car actually goes faster it'll be insane.

  • Andy Green is a brave man!

  • Interesting, but the visuals are awful

  • I once did Mach 2 at 67000 feet on a Concorde and that had a ground speed of 'only' 1330mph, i.e. not twice the speed of Thrust SSC's Mach 1 / 763mph at ground level.

  • Thrust SSC just edged Mach 1.02 in 1997. A lot is about power, if you notice the weight/ thrust Bloodhound has more power and less weight than a Eurofighter…

  • Good response adioape, the Thrust SSC did go faster than the speed of sound.

Although the speed of sound gets less the higher you get in the earths atmosphere, the true air speed, the speed relative to the earth's surface, is what is being chased here.

If a car can be built that could create a vacuum underneath its body as it builds up speed, could knock the pants off any modern fast jet fighter. No doubt. : )

    IT CAN BE DONE!

  • Aeroplane should go quicker because they have less friction, no wheels on the ground. <both have after burners above... Great video :)

  • Theoretically, a car should be able to go faster, since air has only mainly got to go over it, and not under and over it like with an aircraft.

That is why fast jets can't go much faster than the speed of sound in the thick soup of air of low altitude. At high altitude- ok, the air there is thin as anything, and an aircraft then can be able to go at its designed max speed.

  • Up in the air, the air can move out of the way more easily for the plane, but on the ground pressures caused by sonic waves are hideously unpredictable and reflecting back to the car and possibly destroying the surface they're driving on. At 1000mph the desert surfuce could 'liquify' and become unstable.

  • That has been checked out no doubt, they do not sound that amateur. The surface, after cleaning, will no doubt be as hard as your average motorway in mid-summer.

Have faith in British engineering when we put our minds to it, and when politicians do not get too involved...

  • Actually, they need the surfact to be hard but ever so slightly crumbly. The wheels will need to sink slightly into the surface in order to steer.

  • great video

  • I was thinking about the thick soup of air of low altitude issue :) (Cars are at this level).

I don't know of any cars that can go the speed of sound, or faster... well not yet.

There are plenty of jets that can. :)

    P.S great video

  • Really nice animation. Proud to have been a supporter of Thrust SSC and now Bloodhound SSC

  • Great animation. I have no problem admitting i would not have the balls to drive that thing. 1050mph on land, its absolutely insane. A split second loss of control and its all over. I LOVE IT!!

  • 2:12 Scorpion's Tail is inside itself =/

but its a god 3d animation though

  • That "you win!" thing is just silly

  • This is exactly what the coyote should build to finally catch the road runner. I am sure things will go perfectly this time :-)

  • Life is sadly not a cartoon, admitedly- how he survived falling off the edge of the edge of the Colorado Canyon and surviving always is baffling, much the same as Tom in Tom and Jerry who changed into those strange shapes when clouted by the end of an ironing board! But they are doing it on the South African/Namibian border, so the cartoon factor might not get into it.

  • Hope they don't rush and risk it, just make sure everything is near damn close to perfect before they try and travel over land at over 1000mph....

Leave it until the 22nd century if you are not confident, for gawds sake!!!!!

  • They just need to keep the wheels together, at speed, there will be no vertical strain on them, Strain gauges of the ultra sensitive sort will monitor them, I will not be surprised, God, I sound like a press information officer......

  • The wheels are the problem; best remove them and replace with wings. Oh hang on, thats what it was so whats the point of all this. Great engineering but sure you could find something a little more useful like solving the fuel problem.

  • Hope I am not giving the game away but the secret to keep it just on the ground is utra-sensitive rate gyros and accelerometers, feeding signals to very quick decision software to send their signals to sharpish working exterior control surfaces, mathematically worked out how much. How much?- ah-hah, now that is the secret.....

  • friggin epic

  • what is the noise at 0:36 where he presses the white button? isn't it everywhere? Where do I get it?

  • Now try it against an English Electric Lightning (Cape Jets), that would be interesting, BTW my wife is related to Dawn!!

  • Quality of render is not impressive :(

  • @lewandier

The HD render was playing too slowly on You Tube. To be fair the render isnt bad at all.

  • was geht bin so einsam wer will mit mir schreiben hab auch bilder

  • thats funny, it goes so fast, it mesures speed in mach, lol

  • Fantastic. Proud to be British

  • That is soo kool!

  • This is an automatic favourite. Good luck Bloodhound SSC.

  • my honda civic can drive faster than that

  • this is what it takes to attract the kids into engineering, good job

  • The stuff of boyhood dreams

  • Brilliant =)

  • Nice comparison!

  • Very cool indeed, great attention to detail. Fingers crossed for 2011/12
