This will work for me...until I'm ready to throw $50 into buying the floor mounted version. This shoe string, and two screws method serves my purpose (in private). Wont be letting any friends (especially ladies) ride in my car though....they will see that string, and ask me "what's that?" I'd proudly exclaim MY IPAD2 CAR MOUNT!!! They would secretly think....what a CHEAP ASS!!! Plus it looks GHETTO RIGGED. BUT seriously...THANKS MAN!!! It is VERY clever...MR. (JACK) MACGYVER....lol

Wow u r a fraking genius! I kept coming up with concepts and designs to mount my tablet easily to my car front console and occasionally headrest for my son to watch movies, and this string idea is sooo simple its ridiculous. I can tie a string on the headrest as well! Leave it up to an asian to come up with an effective, simple ideathat works awesome. Thats why toyota honda and nissans last so much longer than fords and chevys

I have a bayonet setup but your way is great glad to see another real user I use mine in the car all the time. before this I made my own behind the seat windows computer and wrote my own touch interface to hide windows but I could simply touch named buttons to run apps. I even had voice rec to run programs and talk to the computer with talked back to me, but when driving it was always too noisy so I decided not to use the mic much unless I was stopped somewhere. ALOHA!

BTW, mounting an iPad on the dash board doesn't mean we watch video while we are driving. We can use iPad as a GPS, Internet Radio or watch video when the car stop.

I'd be worried that the weight of the iPad would rip the case at the corners. That portion of the case is made of particularly thin rubber. Perhaps there's a way to reinforce the corners to prevent this from happening?

what you should do is add Velcro to the back of the case and stick it to the car dash the way the iPad doesn't move forward when you find yourself with an uneven surface, nice job anyway, the simplest solution and most ingenious, great job
