Great track! But when i talk to old mods, friends dads etc, they tell me that mods in the 60's listened to blues and R&B. This track was played at Northern Soul all-nighters at the 100 club decades later. Can't see this being a real mod track, but EXCELLENT and recalls beautiful nights. By 1966 most mods didn't really call themselves 'mods' any longer. When you hear Marriott being interviewed in 1965, he talks of having been a mod but moved on - ' I used to go down The Scene Club in me anorak'

It's called 'On the Brink' by Mike Vickers, also known as 'Boogaloo investigator' by same

Hi, it's the same tune and the same recording....originally called On the Brink by Mike Vickers orchestra, released in 1966 on Columbia records...it was later 'covered up' as Boogaloo Investigator by Matt Parsons....which as far as I'm aware is just a made up name and title....
