Thanks for the awesome vids. I had two goals for this year...one was getting into shape and the other was guitar. I have dropped 25 lbs...now I gotta get into the groove with your vids. I have to learn how to play the blues!!! Rock on!

Why do acoustic guitars always have tiny frets compared to electric guitars? I like taller frets and I can't find a good acoustic with decent sized frets.
@Songwriter4God Yeah, I tried a few of those...I hate them too, not a fan of plastic guitars. The necks were okay, but the frets were still small. Thanks for the reply though.
I'm a guitar player and I've been playing guitar for almost a year. I'm wondering when do i have to change my guitar strings???? could anyone answer me?
I can see that the C is the 1 chord, the G is the 5 Chord and the F is the 4 Chord. I can work out that the Am is the relative minor and the B is the Diminished, and D and the E are the associated minors.but, when I start trying to count backwards in fourths for a lot of popular music it gets confusing , So C, F, Bflat, Eflat, Dflat etc. yeah yeah I know the damned guitar is set up in fourths, but can you do some basic theory lessons on youtube? Maybe Modes or similar? good lesson though.
I love this video, i watched it two different times, the first time i followed what you said (doing the chords and all till i was good) and then the second time i created a solo (easy to make since it was all in C), with you doing the chords as background (it sounded so amazing!)
I really enjoyed this lesson. the chord patterns you were strumming sometimes sounded reminiscent of songs I think I know but couldn't place them. It must be because C is so common in music.
Just wondering what you guys use for a recording set up. That looks like and SM 57 mic in the corner there. Do you use a pre-amp at all? Sounds great!
Hi - thanks for the kind words - most appreciated! I have an SM57 to catch some of the acoustic and a shotgun room mic off camera catching the vocals - I run both separate lines into XLRs into the camera and can mix the signal right in the camera and then it sounds pretty killer so I dont have to mess with the audio much when I do the editing in Final cut - enjoy and rock oN!
@rockongoodpeople I couldn't agree more with scubascott1098. The sound is absolutely awesome. Would you mind telling us brand and model of your shotgun mic?
As great as Gibsons, Martins, Takamines and Breedloves sound, I haven't heard anything yet that matches a Taylor (even the lower-end models) in clarity and depth. But that's me. Love that GS5.
Hello and thank for your kind words - most appreciated. So glad that you like our guitar lessons and that we can help you with your playing. Keep on rocking and take care!
Hi - yes, the guitar I am using in this lesson is a Taylor GS5 with a cedar top and tropical american mahogany back and sides - great warm sounding guitar - love it!

@kdrake777 Try an Ovation, they're supposed to play like electrics. I personally hate them, partially 'cause of the back, but some people like 'um.

@kdrake777 Yeah, part of my problem is that you can barely play them sitting down without them sliding.
