WOW!! such an excellent choreography...wht a coordination n energy which didnt lack even for a second!! bravo to the choreographer and the performers!! god bless... :)
No matter how many times I watch this video, it never ages. Its beautiful and is the future of bharatanatyam. Pure magic, and bravo to Shankar ji and the boys for doing an incredible job.
Superb! what else can I say... not easy to chereograph this nattakurunji varnam... furthermore in a group!!
Shankar anna is fabulous! *hats off*
And for that stupid gay comment below(hope the video owner could remove it), I think you have to tighten your screws cuz I`m a male dancer myself..Good answer @6311584..
If I am not mistaken, one of the dancers is Shankar Kandasamy, the guru and dance choreographer himself!!! His dance postures, his fine-tuned movements, etc. remind of Shankar...he is not a boy, he is a MAN!!!
Kudos to the dancers! I enjoyed their beautiful dance movements. Such a pity that I cannot dance like that!
@6311584 I am a female. They seem MALE to me. Why do they seem GAY to you?
1) Are you implying that if it is a male Bharata Natyam dancer, then, he is gay? Since Lord Nataraja is the creator of Bharata Natyam and he is in the male form, do you include him in this category as well?
2) Do you dance? Modern, contemporary, free or whatever? Or do you think that dance is restricted only to females???
Dance is open to ALL…it is a form of expression which pervades this Universe…
@6311584 Nice to see sensible people leaving comments, NOT idiots like you...(and I am not sorry) although we accept your apology, you cannot help being an inbred idiot.
@6311584 Besides the correct comments about Lord Nataraja, the supreme dancer, being the supreme male entity, there is also this fact: many of the male students who studied in the Pandanallur and Kalakshetra styles were highly rated, and married, and raised the second generation of dancers. If fitness, stamina, precise timing, and an innate ability to transmit the words of a varnam into clear emotions are 'gay', you are missing what it is to be a good classical dancer!
may i know who is the choreographer ,no words excellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllent or beyond excellence.real use if dancers
it's performance was perfect. the adavus were very well done. the blocking of the piece added to the magical nature of the art form..
as a group perfromance it is better to have formations rather than just stand and dance in lines. bharathnatyam is a visual art...and to make it more visually appealing, interesting and beautiful, blocking is added. it does not remove from the actual dance itself at all!
great choreography, great performance by all. Wow! I am a trained male bharathanatyam dancer - i dont dance anymore, but still retain a great love for the art for its vigour symmetry and spriteness. This dance brings out all those qualities of the art beautifully.
The costume is a bit puffy spoiling the symmetry at times - traditional panchakajam is the best costume for male dancers - no frills!
The institute that is training these dancers must be supported and cherished!
I am not so much into bharatanatyam but I do enjoy watching it occasionally. An amazing choreography and great dancers. It's kinda treat. Thank you for posting.
r the guys dancin in there human?! i mean they look like dancers from heaven performin in front... seriously perfect and technically awesome...my salutations..i wish i could dance like that
I 2 wanted to learn Bharathanatyam when I was young, but I don't remember as to what stopped me from learning it! probably the large amount of hair on my body? but watching tese amazing boys perform (esp. with the formation) makes me want to learn Bharathanatyam, no matter wat others say. It's so elegant that even a dance illiterate like me could be mesmerized by it...
wow... supb coordination...
