Nicely sung. Brings the lyricist Kannadasan back to life, and also brings back old memories of TMS and PBS from the original version. This version is just as good; feels much more relaxed, actually. Funny to see Hariharan resorting to the swaras in between: he doesn't seem to know the song well. Wish the audio had been better here.

have you listened to the original version of the song in youtube ... .. and also it is a fact that has been told by ar rehman that unless he controls the singer they get carried away .. No bad feeling i like both of them for their work in breathless and colonial cousins and many more songs but this one is total crap and btw you need not have to be a good singer to differenciate good music from bad

Listen guys taking an old song and re-rendering it in itself is a tribute to the old song. And the two guys here are the best ones we have!!

Wrong! Many talented kids can sing better than this. Two stalwarts of yester years sang this song of great vintage value;a great duo set music and lyrics were by master poet Kannadasan. What these two did was total injustice to the song. Messed up the words and were out of tune in quite a few places and there was a major Sruthi alignment problem for Shankar in this piece. No doubt,these two are great singers. But they lacked respect and humility in rendering this and that showed obviously.

I fully agree with you AshokSubra. The original was sung by two stalwarts of South Indian music, P.B. Srinivos and T.M.Sounderarajan. That original song is im-mortal and it is a disgrace that these fellows are more or less mocking it. And Hariharan, despite all his talents does not possess the mellifluous voice of P.B.Srinivos. Re-rendering songs to correct blemishes in recording ir-regularities is one things, attempting to mutilate that great song is deplorable.
