  • should have sprinted the last 50 yards

  • I remember watching this at the time and the heat was just silly. One of the Japanese race walkers was so dehydrated, he entered the stadium one lap to soon. He just about managed to cross the line before he was wheeled off on a stretcher by the medics.

  • im not going to lie this would just as hard as running... im a runner... i have no intentions on ever race walking... but i give race walkers props... so people need to quit baggin on them

  • on ya deakesy :)

  • you'd cry too if you endured four hours of people jeering, laughing, throwing half eaten hot dogs at you, small children pointing, dogs nipping at your heels, birds building nests in your hair.

  • dam this looks kind of difficult, this is something i could do if i start practicing now.

  • You kidding me?

I dare you to try and go out there to do this.

  • Nathan Deakes deserves congratulations for his efforts. Um who is this aussieguy691, who do you think you are? Your problem some fatslob that never does any sport and is quick to criticize. Nathan Deakes deserves to be congratulated for his massive achievement.

  • @aussieguy691 it's been in the olympics for decades

  • @TheChristianCorpse for little over 100 years

  • very impressive.

  • I think you will find racewalking a difficult skill to acquire and joining a club to get tuition and meet neat people is pretty cool too. Its like using the crosstrainer at the gym, but without needing any machine. Its an elite sport and I wouldn't criticise it without giving it a good go. You may like it , get fit , lose pounds and have fun.

  • thats no reason to cry

  • why is he crying?

  • try racewalking. try it for a mile. try it for 50 kilometers.

  • Try running.

  • I can totally see how walking would be a lot harder than running. Just the strain from going that fast and NOT running would be incredible. your legs would fall off. And, I do run. I have run cross country the last 5 years of my life.

  • its a shame he couldnt race in beijing =(

  • You just take the time to watch him do the 50K walk in Beijing 2008.

  • YAY!!! GOOO NATHAN!

  • runnderdude33- Race walking IS harder than running. There is ALOT more involved, even ask NATHAN himself! -As I work with his mother in law at work actually thankyou very much.

  • grande recorde

  • Great show. That takes some serious ability.

  • race walking is harder than running u knob

  • umm...how? Have you ever even ran in your life?

  • yeh for 5yrs then got bored so i fancyed a challenge from jus running round a field and mayb bout 3 laps round the track

  • do explain how the hell race...walking...emphasis on walking is harder than running. You sir are the knob.

  • u have 2 constantly think about ur what ur doin all the time any 1 can run u twat but hardly any 1 can race wlk

  • I see.. In that case, have you ever tried "Race Crawling"? Now that shit is hard. quite the competitive sport. takes a serious athlete to Race Crawl.

    Race Crawling > Race Walking

(sounds kind of silly don't you think?)
