...This, the true ending of Crono Cross, and Aerith's death back in FF7... I believe those made me into the gamer who's obsessed with RPGs I am today.
I have to agree with DygitaNinja's post though-- It'd be a lie to say this part didn't rub off on me in a way I wasn't used to in media before. It was fantastic.
I love this game, brings back fond memories, as a matter a fact it is also a milestone for me for this is the first game I beat without a gameshark and boy was it hard.
this was really sad.... I really didn't expect sue to be lost so early in the game =/ least she didn't die. This is my first time playing through the game
This game had more heart and charm than any other game I've ever played. Not only that, it made me see life from a bright perspective and smile more. Yes, truley this game meant a lot for my childhood.
Too bad she had to go at this point. A lot of walkthroughs will say she is a weak character. But I can assure you she is every bit as lethal as Justin if you train her the way you do the other two. It is actually Feena that seems to be a continual weak link throughout the game. Even when I replay this game I still go ahead and use Sue as I do Justin and Feena because her magic and combo potential is there.
@Luxai She might have leveled slowly; in fact she is usually 3 or 4 levels behind Justin even at this point. But that didn't seem to hurt in battle. You can compensate by leveling up her bow and her earth magic (+STR). I save the seeds for Feena because frankly there's just not much other help for her. I will eventually get around to uploading some videos of this game, with Sue at her best. I think that even underleveled she would have no trouble holding her own even late in the game.
I still have a hard time not letting my tears go on this part because during the game you see sue growing up form little girl to a big girl whit strong will power and well her strong feelings, this part just gets me so badly ....
This moment right here, the one where Justin has dinner with his mom the last time and shortly later reads her letter in the harbour, are among the few two gaming moments that seriously jerked tears outta me... Too emo. :<
Manly tears... Very.
Mother 3 is the only other game capable of doing that to me. Alot of other RPGs fail to make you care about any of the characters, and you end up thinking: "Yeah right, cutscene - just die already and let me check out the new sword I got from the boss!".
For me this moment was far more emotional than when Aeris died in FF7. (don't flame me too bad, I liked that game too) The characters in that game felt like they were sneaking off to cut eachother every other scene, but this game contained some happiness, so losing a character I liked like this was just as hard for me as it was for the characters.
Agreed; while that scene from FF7 wasn't exactly cheerful, Grandia is, up until that point, an extremely cheerful game. Once Sue departs, the game takes a much darker tone.
@DygitalNinja Both scenes made me cry as a kid, XD it was like losing a friend and seeing your home just appear infront of you after such a long journey, which ain't even over yet. Far from it. It's tempting and it made me think. Would I go home, I would just say hi but, the adventure would be over . . . kinda thing.
yeah but this is clearly the playstation version. the saturn version was only in japanese and looked and played much better than the playstation version.
@Kinsmar i know this sound weird but i think this is the ps version and whats the different between psx and saturn i only have the psx one and i love this game
This game is so epic, when you get to this bit you actually feel homesick when you hear the parm music and see the town lol. Only game I've ever played that evokes emotion from the view point of the characters
omg i watched this for the first time in about 5years and it moved me to tears again! i still havent completed this awsome game after 8 years lol. i will fulfill my duty to sue and get to alent as soon as i can. :) ty
*tells himself whilst wiping the actual tears off him* its only a video game .. *sniff* Feena Sue n Justin really were the ultimate 3 muskateers to see :D
I think that they should make a grandia anime but not base of the game something completly different with using some of the games features so it will remind you how beautiful the grandia series is it beats final fantasy every way possible and thats all of them
man its got me into playin it now lol but i dont think i have it anymore looks like im gona have to get it, but man, that last boss is a joke! couldnt do it last time, and that guy spendt hours to get the best moves.... hmmmmmm
Did u never teach Justin the heaven and earth move? The ultimate special attack plus u could always save the game, restart , then go back kill more of the trash monsters before killing boss to level up.
I was sad at first, but then I got Rapp on my team, and I liked her a lot more than I did Sue... no offense to her, I just think Rapp is the most awesome fighter next to Justin
Grandia 1 > all the other grandias. When I watch Grandia scenes I sort of feel disappointed that the makers could never re-emulate this game entirely.
Yes Grandia 1 is the best game, I play it once every year.
Manly tears were shed.

@nickthestick26 She did lvl slower than the rest tho, except Gadwin. If you had kept her she would be underlvld endgame.

Man, I noticed something.
This song is played at the 3 key points in the game.
The beginning, when stuff is starting
The middle, when the true adventure ends
and The end when everything concludes
Bagpipes are an amazing instrument when used right. It really had the setting perfect when used each time.

Sweet! One of my favorite scenes, the others being (sorted after how much I enjoy them):
1. Everything between Feena's departure and entering "Spirit Sanctuary"
2. Leen's last words.
3. Mullen's realisation.
4. This scene.
5. Mirror of the Moon or Mirror of the Stars?
6. Justins speech to himself before leaving Parm.
7. Ending and Epilogue
8. Leen returns the Spirit Stone to Justin after Twin Towers.
