My manual save & my auto saves all have me stuck in da thalmor embassy with no way out cuz of a stupid bug dat made da key I need 2 continue my mission unavailable. Seriously, How can a game with bad graphics, repetitve gameplay/voices & 2 many bugs even b considered GOTY? It's not even an original series 2b 4given 4 it's same old problems
I have feeling like this game was rated before it was even released... On metacritiic it has like 31 positive scores, imo these reviewers didn't even give game enough game play to judge it...
It has lots of flaws which imo don't make this game worthy of almost perfect rating when you compare it to other top rpg games like Torment/BG2... When I saw those SKYRIM fans I noticed they were rather blind. They just follow the influence of what other say and just...well. ..think its proven fact. And It's not that my rig can't play it, or the cooling. It's sad to say that I can't play this game, because the game is infected with problems. If the saves lag the game why not just dealet saves you don't need? Or better yet, get ride of your PS3 and get a Xbox. I have found only 1 or 2 glitchis in the Xbox version and they were just things like bodys floting in air or something harmeless. From what I heard the PS3 version of almost any game is the glitcheyist.
Ps3 version of almost any game is the same as 360 version. people just get bothered by the slightly 'worse' graphics. Not even noticeable unless put side by side.

Based on my experience with the ps3 version of skyrim it only lags occasionally for me and crashed about 7 times during my 100 hour skyrim play.

I changed my mind. Ignoring the graphics and focusing on gameplay and story, this game gets a 6.5. I've played it for 20 hours and i don't think i'll be playing it over 30 :\.
I give this mediocore crap a 7. The story is mediocore. The world is mediocore. The graphics are good but who cares about graphics. The combat is mediocore, the AI is terrible, the world is big, but with a mediocore main story, and sidequests that were taken from other games you get down to the question of whats the point of a big world when there is nothing to draw you in? Monsters are scares outside of dungens, the enemies lv system is terrible, and it's too easy to break the game.
When IGN rates games, they usually rate the game for 1 certain platform and then just copy and paste it on other platforms. I agree the ps3 is really buggy, they should of gave it a lower rating. But from my understanding the reason that it didnt get a 10 is because of the bugs. I think reducing .5 from the game due to the bugs is totally fair when it comes to the 360 version. The PC version is actually really stable and has better graphics, I think they should of gave it a 10.

I have all systems, but I usually play my PS3 for "regional" reasons.my area is totally not supported by Xbox LIVE. so sad, but every platform has its pros and cons, now the Xbox 360 suffers from the path MS has chosen, DVDs aren't so reliable for gaming anymore, most games has above 10GB of space, so an other dick is required, one for the actual game, and the other as a texture pack. but gaming on both is similar.

Ign gave minecraft a 9/10. I mean the game isn't very detailed or polished but compared to other games of it's kind it is fun and original.
Compared to other rpg games skyrim is much better than most of them. I bought fable3 for $60 and although there were no bugs and the graphics were good and very polished, I beat it in 10 hours. Skyrim has way more content, options, and isn't linear and takes me 50+ hours and is still fun which is why it deserves a high rating.

Skyrim is better than any of those games that you mentioned, because the devs focused on making the game fun, even if they had to contend with a million glitches to make it fun. At least these games didn't require me to be some fucking fanboy to like them, I just jumped in and enjoyed them.

What has practically happened here is; Skyrim was a highly anticipated game. Bethesda worked hard on it, and wanted it to sell well. IGN and other gaming sites gave it a high score --> Skyrim sold great the first couple of weeks --> IGN are now writing about the issues to save their own skin.

IGN has no credibility. They rated PES 2008 as an 8.6. They then rated PES 2011 as an 9.0 while PES 2012 which was better received an 8.0 hence no consistency. Yes Skyrim is overrated, you can't rate a game so high when Bethesda continues to have the same problems from previous games they developed. There's a problem on every single platform the game is on.

I have all systems, but I usually play my PS3 for "regional" reasons.my area is totally not supported by Xbox LIVE. so sad, but every platform has its pros and cons, now the Xbox 360 suffers from the path MS has chosen, DVDs aren't so reliable for gaming anymore, most games has above 10GB of space, so an other dick is required, one for the actual game, and the other as a texture pack. but gaming on both is similar.

ps3 version of skyrim works for me bro.
100+ hours of gameplay too. It has its issues but nothing game breaking.
faced worse with fallout 3: game of the year edition (ps3). that game was nearly game breaking. Froze every 1-2 hours. Still put over 150+ in it though.

Ign gave minecraft a 9/10. I mean the game isn't very detailed or polished but compared to other games of it's kind it is fun and original.
Compared to other rpg games skyrim is much better than most of them. I bought fable3 for $60 and although there were no bugs and the graphics were good and very polished, I beat it in 10 hours. Skyrim has way more content, options, and isn't linear and takes me 50+ hours and is still fun which is why it deserves a high rating.

@kidico In short I would rather have a game that has a huge amount of content and isn't that well polished to a game that has little content but very few bugs and is very well polished. I've played other rpgs and skyrim is still the best compared to other ones.
Just like how starcraft2 is rating so high for a strategy game cuz compared to other strategy games it is top notch. It all depends on how the game compares to other games.

Uncharted 3 and Zelda are overrated
No game in 2011 has the scale of Skyrim
Plus the lag issues only in PS3 version, PC version is fine and Bethesda is working on the patch for it

Also, Skyward Sword and...Arkham City are better games than both Skyrim and Uncharted, at least Uncharted offers something new...

@Melkac Hey, guess what? Skyrim is better than any of those games that you mentioned, because the devs focused on making the game fun, even if they had to contend with a million glitches to make it fun. Other games that I found to be better than those games, regardless of glitches: Two Worlds, Metro: 2033, and Fallout 3/ New Vegas. At least these games didn't require me to be some fucking fanboy to like them, I just jumped in and enjoyed them.

@NamelocTheBard Well from my point of view which is completely subjective like yours.This game is not nearly as fun as you are claiming. If you running around with overpowered gear through out the whole game than kudus to you.If you didn't have a problem with the lag,then again kudus to you.But as I've said the game isn't that fun nor are the quest.The quest are trivial and the story line is mediocre like the characters and places.Nothing is memorable about this game and it is very bland.

What has practically happened here is; Skyrim was a highly anticipated game. Bethesda worked hard on it, and wanted it to sell well. IGN and other gaming sites gave it a high score --> Skyrim sold great the first couple of weeks --> IGN are now writing about the issues to save their own skin.

IGN has no credibility. They rated PES 2008 as an 8.6. They then rated PES 2011 as an 9.0 while PES 2012 which was better received an 8.0 hence no consistency. Yes Skyrim is overrated, you can't rate a game so high when Bethesda continues to have the same problems from previous games they developed. There's a problem on every single platform the game is on.
