The liquid pools on the floor is probably condensation bleeding from her phase changers since liquid carbon dioxide only exists under extreme pressure, so on earth its either a gas or solid (dry ice). Also liquid co2 is very impractical and extremely dangerous but that's lain!

It has to do with how the Internet has affected the world, how it has lead to mass desensitization and the improvements in the transferring of information and knowledge. But most of all it's about what happened to god when the Internet was created. did god die? or was god reborn? this is the question that has been asked every episode so far, and I hope the show leaves room for us as viewers to decide the answer.

the men in the black suits are the knights, who are watching over Lain's progress. however, she felt threatoned by them and attacked one of them through the window. i think that they were the ones that gave her the Psyche chip, but only under her fathers word

Oh and as for Evangelion, it's nothing like this and it's also pretty straightforward. I still like it though. =]

You don't get it at all then. The Wired and the real world are suppose to be connected and, as the phantom father explained, the body is merely a physical chassis being manipulated by the electrical impulses from our brain. From everything that has been said so far I gather that the girl that committed suicide had transcended from using her body in the real world and her brain's electrical impulses, soul, data, whatever are still lingering in the Wired.

actually it is water cooling which is extremely effiecient for computers cooling when a computer starts to do higher calculations and processing. though in the wikipedia page it said that it was liquid carbon dioxide though i have only heard of liquid nitrogen cooling . from the looks of the computer scases and hard ware it old for today's high end standards

What do you mean by Internet Metaphor? Is it the absurd way people relate The Wired with Internet what bothers you? That bothers me too, because even though they follow the same physical principles, The Wired is not but a parallel to the Human Mind, where non-physical data (neither electrical nor coded) flows, and where the entity they identify as God (that I identify as the Balance/Equilibrium) "exists". In my opinion, this aspect of the Anime is absolutely right. What do you think?
