The Romulans are known as a race with their own problems, and the Federation shows example as the more mature thinker.
The Borg contest rational thinking of the Federation by acting like a robot. Borg was interesting first because the Federation was innocent and a good contrast to the robot. TNG failed in its later seasons by resorting to nothing but war. So it has been going on for 21 years now.

The United Federation of planets do not stay together, because the humans have such big weapons against them, but because the Federation offers cultural exchange, mutual security, research and trade. The planets feel that they are better of sharing life with the humans.

@JeffGraw I';m actually a star wars fan:) grew up with star wars and star trek ( i am 48) so i can say this :); STO plays well and has tons of content . like all other folks, i was doubtful so basically i see your approach as being more so a put down than reality. and, reality is, from it launch until now, this is a new game so at least this time Cryptic got something right. I happen to like the way they set up STO but thats me:) think if I relied on you, i would miss out cause im having fun:)

@kahetel13 Well, we aren't talking about Sony, not sure why you want to bring them into it, but consensus from the SOE hating crowd is that those games like SW and EQ were at one point good. STO was never good, although PvP had some promise at one point.
In terms of playing on elite, turning all of the brain dead NPCs into HP meat-bags isn't very compelling, but if you think that it makes you a good player, send me a PM @hurleybird --we'll create a match and your team will lose 15-0.

I tried 3 different browsers and I can't register. Everything is okay, but when I enter my password and agree to the terms and press download now, it reloads the page with all the info still input, except for the password. It keeps telling me "Please enter your password again."
What the fuck? I tried 20 different password and 2 different mails and at least 4 different account names and NOTHING works.
@ManosOfTerra That happend to me with a different game and it was because my mozzilla firefox was an older version and it didn't tell me a new one was available. I downloaded the new one 4 lvls higher and was able to activate my account and play the need for speed world

The remastered episodes take advantage of technology they didn't have access to at launch, so you can't fault them there. And in case you didn't notice, the Foundry gives players HUNDREDS of missions to choose from...not to mention create. So there really is no excuse to hate on Cryptic for a "content drought" that never actually existed.

I never once spent 3 hours in an STF, too many noobs tried to PUG them, the key was strategy and voice communications so you could actually coordinate what you were doing with your team. And yes foundry missions, corny stories where most of the text is spelled wrong, I've played some very dumb foundry missions, besides it's the job of the devs to make missions not the player base lol, we're paying for them to provide that service.
@ExplorerXIII You're right about one thing. If you're not satisfied with the devs, feel free to not buy stuff from the C-store. Subscriptions are optional now, and free players have basically all the same stuff as paying players. And most Foundry mission are actually way better than the "official" ones - try "Spirits of Ramok Nor" or "The City of Polmar Ree". Those two (and many others) are more than worthy of being installments of DS9 or TNG.

@AdisloKazdan Well, for me it was constant disconnections and/or failing to log in. Sometimes the game will crash while at the character select screen.
If only the game was as cool as this new opening 'cinematic'.

I saw this a while back as a sneak preview.. This will be the new opening scene instead of the old one we all got with a new character.. if anyone one remembers when beta testing or getting the game for the first launch... we didn't have any of the new ships ( Dkyr ) and other things that are in this video at that time..

@adrius Look at previous Trek games, Bridge Commander; unfinished and buggy. Same With Armada 1 and 2. Elite Force 1 was the best for its time; not so sure about EF2.

@ExplorerXIII You're right about one thing. If you're not satisfied with the devs, feel free to not buy stuff from the C-store. Subscriptions are optional now, and free players have basically all the same stuff as paying players. And most Foundry mission are actually way better than the "official" ones - try "Spirits of Ramok Nor" or "The City of Polmar Ree". Those two (and many others) are more than worthy of being installments of DS9 or TNG.

I'll check out those missions you suggested, but I'll set the bar very very low for them. Then I'm going straight back on TOR lol, at least that feels like an MMO

I played this game when it launched, but left because of server issues. But with STO going F2P soon I think I might come back and check out the changes.

@AdisloKazdan Well, for me it was constant disconnections and/or failing to log in. Sometimes the game will crash while at the character select screen.

Also... Cryptic FAIL for not using the Spock likeness that was used in one of the episodes in the game. The one in the video doesn't look like Spock at all.

I saw this a while back as a sneak preview.. This will be the new opening scene instead of the old one we all got with a new character.. if anyone one remembers when beta testing or getting the game for the first launch... we didn't have any of the new ships ( Dkyr ) and other things that are in this video at that time..

@adrius Look at previous Trek games, Bridge Commander; unfinished and buggy. Same With Armada 1 and 2. Elite Force 1 was the best for its time; not so sure about EF2.
STO has become a lot more canon recently; perhaps if you didn't have blind hatred for Cryptic you'd realize that STO is a good game.

Hey CBS, how about a new *Elite Force* like shooter on base of the Unreal Engine 3 or the Cryengine,,, or the Frostbite 2 engine (Battlefield 3)
