Wow... laptops and electronics and Reid on a bass guitar. They are killing it. When I heard Dave describe this, I knew I'd like this project but I'm only now finally getting to hear it. Thanks very very much for posting.
yes! dave king unleashes . . . My favorite dave king band second to the bad plus. love craig taborn's playing . . . beautiful and atomospheric nicely juxtiposing dave's driving style.
@turtleboy84 It's too hard. I can't even count it without messing up. How he can play it is beyond me. It's either 15/8 or 17/8, but I lean toward 17/8 -- think there is an extra beat in there. Where's Bill Bruford when you need him? :)
It sounds like the groove is divided like its 7/8 then 4/8 then it switches to the quarter note triplet pulse for 5 beats.

14 / 8 , the last 3 beats are equally divided into 5

There is no measure of 8/8. It's 7/8 throughout. The triplets make it a bit harder to count.

Doubly-syncopated polyrhythmic drumming in odd time that rocks out. Only from Dave King. From around 5:00-8:20 will blow your mind.

3 measures of 7/8 (223) then a measure of 8/8. its weird cause the 8/8 is the measure that sounds odd-meter.
