Apparently this movement is representative of the toll the war took on rural France. Notice how the climax suggests happiness but if you listen closely it's just a cry of anguish.
I think this should be the final movement, you just cant beat the ending

The emotional tone here closely resembles Shostakovich 7th Symphony, as both composers spoke of the senseless destruction of their homelands.

I love the blend of the sax section in this movement! The vibrato really adds to the emotion of the piece.
