@MUMMY186 lots of bands nowadays sing in english no matter the nationality; they either sing exclusively english or make english versions of their original songs;
well, it seems pretty obvious that they do it to appeal to a wider audience.... I mean sure you could just google translation to lyrics but some people like to understand the lyrics of the songs they're listening to... and english is as close to an international language as it gets;
@rutgerpiechers seems to me metal is more international.... it's unifying as opposed to just its best coming from a single location.... but, hey, maybe it's just me
it detects light at a certain measurement, like if they stopped in the middle of a scene they measure the light to make sure that its the same for when they begin the scene again
Paulina: "Of course it's great going for Finland that Billboard thinks that at the moment interesting artists and bands appear here and this place should be looked forward to." Tuomas: "Several bands have breaked through, especially in Europe. It's a great for Finland. I hope it goes on." Announcer: "Nightwish's new video Nemo is ready in March. It will get it's first view in Levyraati. Future will show what a million old marks brought in." Tuomas: "This was incredibly great. The expetations ...
... that finnish bands haven't reached to UK and USA market because the music genres that have been successful here aren't 'in' in the countries. For example, in USA they don't listen to the music like HIM. It's not always about the bands, but more likely about the flow of genres that are successful there." Announcer: "I wonder if little by little this is going to change. The appreciated Billboard magazine named Finland and Denmark as the rising music countries of the year." ...
... been welcomed with open arms in Finland so we got the chance to pop up outside the borders." Tuomas: "Band must have a kind of identity of it's own, it's own thing it does in the end. We are not going to copy the others, but make our own stuff instead." Antti: "The video that is sugar on top and goes for MTV around the Europe isn't enough. In that point the music should be OK with some original elements and it shouldn't be so low quality that it will be rejected for that ... partly I feel...
... with many people the name of Antti Jokinen brings a lot of images in minds that the product is high quality." Paulina: "Of course, he's professional in that career. And his videos go quite automatically to the recordings of MTV of USA, and it's really great that he starts to make videos for finnish artists." Announcer: "For the long term success the music is of course more important than the videos." Paulina: "Nightwish has made most of it's career abroad. Thank God that we have ...
... visibility, especially in Europe." Tuomas: "It does need a video nowadays, or at least an attempt. At least it's a big plus. When a video is made, it's primarily made for foreign market, which usually means MTV." Paulina: "I'd say that in Germany and USA the music video is extremely important medium because the channels have such wide visibility and big meaning. For example in UK the music video is less important. The channels won't catch the audience as easy." Tarja: "I believe that ...
... here in Finland since I haven't shot with this small group in years and I know every person by name which feels like making it on own backyard which is good." Announcer: "For finnish market the exapnsive videos are rarely made. One of the reasons is the small number of channels. A video rolling once in a music show is not worth spending a fortune. As the market is international, the meaning of spectacular video grows." Tarja: "Video is very important product today, and you get a lot of ...
... the effects are used." Ewo: "So far the video has used the old half a million (marks). At least another one will go." Antti: "I have come here today and I will be going away right in tomorrow. In a week it might be possible to have shoots again. The special arrangements depend on possibilities to be in same place and same time with certain band. I have noticed in the last years that the star culture has become so high that it's quite sterile and technical job. I think it's fun to come ...
... for charity, I'm not taking any payments. Everything to make this video is on me." Announcer: "International audience is reached by classy video, but payments for it is something to be prepared for. For this video a massive lighting gear was ordered and post production of international level is looked forward to." Tuomas: "It will be very expensive at least in the measures of Finland. It's done in a studio almost from beginning to end, playing in the band set against the screen where ...
... pop and hiphop. The biggest names I have made videos for have been Will Smith, (?), Eminem, Shania Twain, Cèline Dion, Shaggy, Westlife, Beyoncé and Missy Elliot." Announcer: "The first videos of his career Antti Jokinen has made for finnish artists, such as Samuli Edelman and Leningrad Cowboys. The video of Nightwish is Antti's first finnish project since 4 years." Antti: "I have always spoken of how finnish music should be helped so I turned my words into action. I also do this just ...
... in Herttoniemi, Helsinki." Tuomas: "We chose Antti Jokinen particularly because we saw a magazine article of his will to make a video of finnish heavy band." Antti: "I do like opera and heavy metal. I've had the rock background lately anyway. I didn't know their project very well before, but I had read about them from the magazines, that they had made it fairly well. I really like metal, and this is finnish ... my first videos were heavy videos at a time but lately I have made them for ...
Announcer: "When a band is after getting a success, a good song is of course good representation but a music video is also the key. It has to be fantastic if you want in the great international market. The heavy band Nightwish got Antti Jokinen to make their new video. Jokinen, who got his reputation in Hollywood, is popular with the world class stars. The director knows his value and that's why he's interested to help the success of finnish music. The video was shot last weekend in ...

I'll translate the beginning for you.I'm not the best at english. So please try to understand. Btw I'm not translating straight what she says, I'm just getting the main idea.The woman says "When bands are looking for fame, they must have a good song of course, but the music video must be perfect. Heavy-band Nightwish got the director Antti Jokinen to film their video." And then she talks about how the Antti guy is famous in Hollywood and blah blah, and that the video was filmed in herttoniemi.
wish i could understand...but i love tuomas' hair in this video <3 (no idea why...but it looks better than his new hair style). and tarja rocks...i was kinda hoping they would show the other scenes from the video, not just the performance part (T_T)
yes. He posted it
