I have a serious question about the blue plane...Did the pilot cancelled the take off because from the side the plane turned around the planes only land not take off and if a pilot cancells the take off it's very dangerous for the plane and the people who are in it...I know this information because my father was a pilot in the hellenic air force and he also knows how to fly these planes....
@Spyrosphantomas you say that your father was a pilot...if so then you asking a false question...
the blue plane MAERSK is using runway 37...the runway of IOANNIS KAPODISTRIAS AIRPORT is designated as 17/35 dependind of the weather airplanes land or take off either from 35 or 17...is the same ranway but the two ends are looking towards 170 or 350 degrees.
When here is no wind the pilot decides from where to take off so if its destination is to Europe prefers 35...
I remember when I went to corfu, as soon as we touched down, it's instant reverse thrusters. And then taking off! they have to stop the traffic behind the runway!
@FantasticBabblings no room for error at all. Thankfully no accidents at all at Kerkyra Airport. I filmed this in 2003, when I left Corfu we took off over the ocean side of the runway, it was a relief when we lifted off. You see the ocean from the sides of the runway and think, please god I don't want to be fish food today LOL.
that maersk is everywhere....

What a short runway... That hazy view to the left is magnificent!

Wow! There's no margin for anyone to even sneeze getting those planes out of there.
You suddenly seem to have a Partnership? Congrats!

The surroundings are beautiful. That runway doesn't leave much room for error, does it?
