All those things will face the same hurtles those lobbyists don't like. Just focus on the infrastructure that this health care reform can give us voices for improvement and cost savings for our future and our kids. Look, we are not afraid of our own gov't and they don't need to be afraid of us and dividing us. If we got divided, they get two times more of punishments. Don't be loyal to any political party. We call those who do religious fanatics in our young generation.
2.3 billion dollars in settlement against a well known drug industry. By cracking down on medical fraud is a Huge step forward in aiding against high cost as we fight to over haul our current healthcare sytem. This is what we needed as part of a new health care reform.
Thanks rationalnow for your kind comments....To be fair to both parties, I had already signed up for Mr. Boehner's GOP Alert updates...I've received his letters every week, and one today. But there is an ad that reflects the need for public option needed by a Republican constituent:
You're welcome, shella2bella I have seen your comments before and I admire the fact that you can be impartial, open, fair and civil in your debate. I admit I have a problem doing that as do most liberals I've debated.
I will check into the information that you gave me an get back to you with a response.
Sorry shella2bella, I got your name wrong before. Did you listen to Rep. Boehner in this video as he outlines some of the Republicans better solutions to health care reform? I encourage you to check out my channel's comment page for information about the GOP's alternative health care plan. Under their plan many Americans not covered by insurance will have a viable option to receive coverage. A government-run option is not the answer. I know you're a fair-minded Democrat and open to other ideas.
I like Obama's plans on healthcare reform in part because,he said many time throughout his town hall meetings that:...we can reduce medical cost by cracking down on wasteful spending practices like medical frauds; Doing so will help keep hosps & insurance honest, and it will also eliminate unnecssary medical tests, and procedures brought on by doctors to their patients, that will double or triple medical bills....that alone is a "HUGE" reduction in medical cost, that is efficient.
Hey stella2bella, did you know that your statement about "reducing medical costs by cracking down on wasteful spending practices like medical fraud," is a big part of the Republican plan for health care reform? In addition the GOP's plan for tort reform will restrict the number of fraudulent malpractice lawsuits. Also, Republicans have other good ideas on reducing red tape and establishing uniform medical forms to reduce costs.
The idea of the public option needs to be scrapped!
rationalnow, you asked me...."did I know that my statement about "reducing medical costs by cracking down on wasteful spending practices like medical fraud," is a big part of the Republican plan for health care reform?"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
If that was true then.....why didn't the republicans used it when they were in the majority?
Plus, I haven't heard, not one time, when the republicans were in power, had they thought about, or care to do any health care reform..excuse me? Not once.
You do know that I'm a former Democrat, right? I've only been a Republican since 2008 and because I was of a different mind-set then, I don't feel obligated or perhaps qualified to speak for the GOP's past. However, I feel sure had they known of the radical bill that Democrats are now pushing, they would've done something then and am sure they regret they didn't. The GOP's main concern at the time was keeping the country safe. And remember they did pass a beneficial prescription drug bill.

You also said, "The idea of the public option needs to be scrapped! "
I say, "Why don't you try telling most Americans who do need the public option that...including myself."
