  • Never much for Stevie Nick's looks, wasn't a huge Olivia Newton John fan but Nancy Wilson .....I forgot about her . Hell ,shes damn near as hot now .

  • All you assholes who think she was so good looking (no way). You better not check out how she looks now, it'll burst your retarded school boy bubble. So put your dicks back in your pants.

  • Possibly the greatest combo of looks and vocal ability ever......any others come to mind ?

  • @fborrodnco Stevie Nicks, Olivia Newton John, Ann Wilson, in the 70s they all looked better and had better voices than Linda Ronstadt IMO

  • The sight of her makes my temperature rise. I'm melting.

  • Linda R. sang songs that made our times so memorable, even for life. I loved her point of view; tough, sure of herself, her beautiful voice, this made her more desirable.

  • Damn! Back in the day, Linda was a babe.

  • I still love her - all these years later. No pretense, just pure talent ......and pretty.

  • Bobby Kimmel looks EXACTLY like Bernard Maskit.

  • a wonderful woman and singer. never seen a better one!

  • Great!

  • love it what more can one say

  • love it what more can one say

  • sooo fucken beautiful!!!

  • watch out linda, there's a villian from a Hammer house of horror and a 70s porn star behind you!!

  • One Beautiful Brunette with the voice of an Angel.

  • Linda makes my knees weak! Hot!Hot! Hot!

  • thank you for putting this up..LOVE it :)

  • muy bonita

  • * Absolutely Fantastic! One of my favorite vocalists : ) I have uploaded an old t.v. commercial I found featuring Linda Ronstadt,

hope you guys check it out and enjoy it!

  • This one goes out to all the concubines out there.

  • When it first starts...she kinda looks like Anna Paquin. But shes still beautiful...and I hear this song all the time at work. Yep...grown to love this one too.

  • dam she was hot my ever music crush lol

  • The Axe Excite-commercial brought me here! I thought it was Cher when i saw the commercial!:)

  • HARRY2shoes1...HAHAHAHA...please tell how you really feel....you're so right about linda, she was so special ....''skanks of today''...hahaha...awesome...

  • I would give that hippy some serious pipe

  • Lovelyyyyyyy

  • Her voice was absolutely stunning and the song sat on the charts for a long time in the summer (as I remember it) of 1967. A decade later she was dating the governor of California - Jerry Brown - and they were off to a trip in Africa.

I think there are some equally good female vocalists today, just as there were then, but she holds a special place among those of us who grew up listening to her for a long, long time ;-)

  • Lovely song and well sung, but I only like the first 35 seconds of it.

  • even as a 11 year old in 1967 i could appreciate the talent and looks of this fine lady

  • New she was a beautiful woman but have not seen her looking as good as this, wow. she really is a little darling.

  • the Stone Ponys went on to become founding members of The Eagles

  • She reminds me so much of my dear Friend, Carol.

  • I used to hear her with the Stone Poneys lots of times in Greenwich Village. They were very wholesome. She dressed in white. I went for the loud blues band that was top billing.

  • see back in the 60s a woman was not scared to have long hair

  • dont we all wish are woman looked like her

  • great post!!! I Love this one...I was in love with Linda till she turned into a balloon...

  • She is beautiful in a classy way. Which you just don't seem to get in the modern age of skanky musicians.

  • What a fantastic voice Linda Ronstadt has, and a great pop song with it. That would be in my top 5 of 60s music.

  • Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:30 best part

  • This was written by Mike Nesmith of the Monkees!

  • This song always reminds me of 'the girl who got away' ... Kristi Lofthus of Banning High .... I loved her then, I love her now ......

  • Rock, Country, great lyrics, beautiful performer, super music. The end of a relationship, ended to be free and find yourself. A woman standing up and striking out for herself with an inner strength that matches her voice.

  • Linda was gorgeous!! And hot! Love this song.

  • great tune. would have really brought it full-circle if they had finished out the song with the "different drum" chorus, imo. still love it, tho

  • the cutest of them all...xxx

  • The music of the sixties was so great

  • Thank god the Lynx ad seems to have died a death.., to me it,s sacrilege to this beautiful song !!

  • Properly sick of the ads on Youtube now!

  • A babe in those days but unfortunately couldn't be trusted around pie.

  • Not only she could sing, She was HOT unlike the skanks of today..

  • @Harry2shoes1 ,,,,OH MY GOD HARRY!!!!!!!!!! You're so right Sir.

  • @Harry2shoes1 Exactly!!!! HOT, overflowing with sexual energy but without acting/dressing like some back-alley, crack-addicted, skanky 'ho bag! She was certainly a rare one -- for her day and for all time.

  • @Harry2shoes1

No kidding, she was adorable and without pretense. Why do people like lady gaga ?

I am a pianist so I like really old music like bach, mozart, beethoven ....

but for god's sake that era and I was not even born, kicked ass.

Long live Hendrix, Joplin and the stone poneys.

  • @turncapp $20 says lady gag gag is uglier than a bag of assholes without that crap she slaps on with a putty knife...wait she's gross with make!! Linda Ronstadt is all natural stunning beauty at itself

  • @johnnyboy6473 LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO best comment ever!!!!

  • @GOODIES1986 glad you liked it :-)

  • @Harry2shoes1, i totally agree with you there

  • I like the story about her and the governor Brown of California .....They were dating and he asked her to attend a function with him but discreetly, she arrived in a Brownies uniform on roller skates.

  • Lynx did not bring me here.It was Linda singing this song in my head all bloody day.Had to listen to it.Cheers

  • I think I could be one happy camper if someone were to abduct me and put me in a situation where I'd be forced to live in a room with all the great vinyl from this era and booze it up, along with a few jays now and then, and go back in time when human beings actually knew how to make great music and play one album after another!

  • i love this song, thanks mum!

  • hmm going to have to google/wiki The Stone Pony's and find out what year she left (not even sure she left) or maybe they just dropped the Stone Pony's name. I have not seen her since she was with J. Brown in California

  • suatos

  • why would I ? I have never found anything better than perfect, and for me this song by Linda is perfect

  • this song is brill brings back so many memories of the 60's

good god so many people only ever heard it from stink adverts, such a shame

  • Everyone go listen to the cover of this song by the band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

  • @cheezkid GF no cover will ever beat this

  • @Brian13496 ...have you even listened to it?

  • My favourite year; next to '64...really brings back memories.

  • Michael Nesmith brought me here!

  • Will always be grateful to the Lynx advert . I' ve listened to hundreds of tracks over the years trying to identify this song without any joy and then i hear it in a tv advert. Thank you Lynx.

  • @PHILSUN09 haha exactly the same here my friend!

  • I always called this the "noun" song....

  • This song was used in an ad on tv and I couldn't find it for ages it nearly drove me crazy. it is fantastic really 60's. I missed them

  • She sings this better than any other songs.

  • Linda Ronstadt was a total babe!!!!

  • @BuffaloTom79 Why can't today's girls look like her?

  • OMG absolutely, Linda Ronstadt was totally gorgeous back in '68

  • I didn't know this song till the Lynx advert....and thought it was Cher! Love it.

  • i was in tucson in 1979..couldnt find you..even went to choo choos the night train.looking for you..linda you are so gorgeous

  • Love her vocals here....so emotional and true....

  • @crustywasp Nice 2 meet someone who has a brain, eyes & ears and isn't swayed by shortarse cowell and his miming circus....

  • She is great,, did great songs later on including "Dreams to Dreams"

  • @crustywasp Totally agree with u on everything, most popdivas have 2 strip naked to sell their tripe to the moronic chavs who buy it, cheryl tweedy included.....

  • @56DOBO excellent.propably one of the best ever comments i've seen on youtube!!.

  • I;d forgotten how beautifull Linda was thanks Lynx

  • love it...This is singing unlike x factor tripe.....

  • .@56DOBO well said, such a beautiful song and what a voice unlike the garbage as you say off x-factor and then look at all the other manufactured shit these days such as beyonce.what a load of fucking crap!!.

  • lynx brought me here too

  • Born in "58," a bonafide child of the 60s and 70s, pretty tune from then and there--a much more simpler and beautiful time.

  • funny it was nothing to do with lynx - I was listening to Bob Dylans theme time radio hour (episode 37 musical instruments)...... still, what a lush song ;o)

  • the advert brought me here what a great song

  • yes the advert brought me here too.

  • fantastic song

  • GREAT SONG BY A GORGEOUS GIRL

  • Ha ha great girl ,I thought was getting on and this video was a year before I was born .Linda is really good a pleasure to listem to her . Alan x

  • me to what a tune

  • I have LOVED this woman ... all my life ..

    Well so far anyway !

    Totally AWSOME Voice !

    and a Beautiful Face !

  • Written by the great Mike Nesmith!

  • had to find out who sang this after hearing lynx ad,gobsmacked linda ronstadt singing <and written by mike nesmith, brill tune, wish i was a teen in the sisxties listening to the best music ever<compered to crap these days

  • This was on the radio when I was in the army stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA....I'm old enough now to start getting sentimental...it brought tears to my eyes as I thought of the folks I knew in those days & those who did not survive the war.

  • this tune on the advert took me back ... I realted to this when I was a kid, and there was something haunting me about it. When I looked into it, I was 5 when she did this, I still havn't worked out what it is that gets me about this track because I'm knocking on the door of 50 so it was a long time ago, and it's still haunting me since I heard the Linx advert ... I will get to the bottom of it.

  • i would smash her!!

  • Comment removed

  • love it bring back the 1960's

  • Another from the Lynx Excite ad. 1967, yep, definitely not a 'modern' music fan. Linda went on to get a #1 with "You're No Good" in the 70's - that's the one most people will probably remember her for - another neat tune.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • The Lynx ad has just revived this song to the mainstream again.

  • what memories iam going to use lynx forever

  • The music is similar to the left banke's don't walk away renee in style and arrangement, i believe the called it borough rock or something like that. 67,68, and 69 were magic years for music!

  • Great song! How much does she look like Dawn Porter?

  • It,s good to see that the TV ad has awakened peoples interest in this all time classic song..., for some of us, we already knew !

  • @schuller51 Never heard this before. It's great when you hear an old song for the first time.

  • @orbazel yes it,s a lovely old song, from 1967 written by Mike Naismith of the Monkey,s, I play it at least once a week, the words are quite profound, and I guess, a lot of us can relate to them ?

  • Not associate Linda Ronstadt with the sixties???? Where were you in the sixties? I was graduating from high school that year and she was definitely part of the music scene. And this song was an anthem for girls who were deciding to make a life for themselves and beating a different drum.

  • Lynx got me here 2 :-D

  • chicana!

  • Gosh, never associated Linda Ronstadt with sixties music !

  • Thumbs if the Lynx advert brough you here :)

  • just heard this on the lynx advert and quite liked it so here I am!

  • @mike649fox do yourself a favor and listen to some more of LR songs.....

  • @amsterdamkim wil do!!

  • had this track in back of mind formany years but didnt know who sung it, thanks to Lynx advert tracked it down again, O.M.G. she`s brilliant, Thanks

  • asks is it possible to get addicted to a song....I can remember listening to this bach in the 70s when I had The Best of Linda on tape and of all the songs on the album this is the one that was played, re-wound and played time and again till the tape machine ate the tape :( For years I'd forgotten all bout it till the Lynx ad came along n now I'm hooked again (only this time I just have to hit the repeat icon) Thank you for uploading!!

  • Great song and what a wonderful vocal performance. Love the harpsichord arrangement, reminds me of the Judy Collins version of "From Both Sides Now". Just beautiful.

  • @djtherecruiter spot on.absolutely brilliant.sounds so good even after all this time.so much better than the talentless manufactured garbage churned out these days such as beyonce(who?).and so stunningly attractive with it.

  • I've posted a few times before, but always forgotten to say how I rued the fact that it was a little short. But maybe, just maybe that is one of the many magical and alluring attributes that make it the best song in the world.

  • great great song, fantastic singer...how fabulous is this???

  • Lynx Excite brought me here !

  • @bilzup I hate lynx, but the advert did bring me here, awesome track.

  • @jamesloy176 I haven't bought Lynx for a while, but the Excite advert was really funny and what a great track, it's great that people get to find out about awesome tracks from yesteryears! This is the first time I've ever heard this song and can't stop listening to it. Love it !!!!

  • @bilzup same as me bro

  • Pastels,

  • @ehead2222 Funny, I thought that. Would be a great dancer.

  • My childhood dream girl... Still love that voice.

  • i believe this was written by Mike Nesmith of The Monkees fame, am i right?

  • @smartbomb05 Yes you are. Before he joined the monkeys. Great song, great singer

  • Beautifully crafted song, with lovely chord progression, sung with a winning comibination of power and wistfulness by Linda. Songs like this are not written anymore.

  • She has a mouth I could kiss forever.

  • beuty

  • lynx excite brough me here!! love it :)

  • Perfection!

  • what a voice.

  • I had this song....she was quite pretty....

  • Quiero saber como se llama la modelo que sale en el video de axe donde usan esta cancion

  • @PERVERMUSE Que bien que los comeraciales revivan buenas canciones, pero dudo que los fans de Linda sepan sobre el comercial. Mejor googlealo.

  • I posted a month back. Still listening to this song many times a day. As many people have said, today's so called 'singers' don't have what Linda, Joan Baez or Judy Collins have/had. If you would like to hear a woman who follows in their path and gives the same tingling performance, look for Iris Dement - she's fantastic.

  • Thumbs up! Way up!

  • es hermosa *.*

  • mee enqantaa estee videoo!
