Her voice was absolutely stunning and the song sat on the charts for a long time in the summer (as I remember it) of 1967. A decade later she was dating the governor of California - Jerry Brown - and they were off to a trip in Africa.

I think there are some equally good female vocalists today, just as there were then, but she holds a special place among those of us who grew up listening to her for a long, long time ;-)

I posted a month back. Still listening to this song many times a day. As many people have said, today's so called 'singers' don't have what Linda, Joan Baez or Judy Collins have/had.
