@MrSoloman Hyper Dimension has great graphics (better than these), and HAD great gameplay for the time. These days, when moving from a modern DBZ fighter like Budokai 3, and back to Hyper Dimension, the controls feel a bit stiffer and harder to get a grasp of. It will always be a classic, but the gameplay hasn't aged very well. Also, Shin Butouden is just, more or less, the better port of Ultimate Battle 22.

Naw, hyper dimension may have a bad story mode and limited characters, but it's so intense - graphics in this game are a lot better, but look when they power up, it's like a flash animation or something - they took way too many shortcuts here. I'm a Sega Saturn fan too, but this isn't as good

Are people actually comparing DBZ games released nearly a decade later on far superior hardware to one's released in the mid-90's?

For basically being a 1st generation 32-bit game released in 1995, this was a very good 2D DBZ game for it's time. Trying to compare this to the original Budokai series or later Tenkaichi series is really not a fair comparison. Compare this game to the likes of UB22 on PSX since they came out at roughly the same time.

I think it's fair. I'd say the old snes DBZ fighters were far superior to all the newer DBZ games apart from maybe budokai 3 and Burst Limit.

Those games had great graphics for the PS2, and Wii. The presentation wasn't too bad, but it wasn't that good either. The animations were good. So were the soundtracks (well, except Budokai Tenkaichi 3). Most of all, the gameplay was simply great on those games.
