  • You are so down to earth, kind hearted, and truly a Filipina....we will always love u Christine.

  • wow i love this video, i love her story and i admire her :) i'm proud to be a filipino :)

  • I admire you of tracing your roots back here., and visiting your dad's relatives (family) as other Filipino's who migrates in the U.S. don't want to look back to where their family roots came from. mabuhay ang mga taong katulad mo :)

  • so nice..........................

  • Where i'm from...we call it Caribou

  • No wonder why you got positioned head of tourism.

  • Filipinos are asian mexicans

  • @1upchannel What?!

  • @1upchannel i like to shit in your hand

  • @levilaufner Shows how primitive filipino people are heh...

  • @1upchannel hopefully from all the burritos i eat. All the feces i create will flood your house of organic goodness. then your dog becomes a griffin and fly away

  • Is this in Zamboanga?

  • It's so sad that some pinoy families who lived in the US and had kids would not teach them how to speak in tagalog or their native dialect anymore. And they don't recognize to them how they lived in the Philippines before they came to the US. They don't even bother to encourage them to visit the Philippines. They want their kids to be "americanized" So sad! But Christine, we are so proud of you. You will be Blessed with your kind & beautiful heart for our country :)

  • Where r the other eps??

  • i miss the philippines too

  • hi HappySlip. i have watched your videos and i found them plain and simple like any other videos of balik-bayans. but when you said your last words "mahal ko ang pilipinas".... damn, you made my cry.

  • Christine's uncle said: Im Very Thank you you becuz you...coming here in my house....(and Laugh) small House im very happy and proud you

  • Christine, awesome stuff, let me know if you ever visit the Clark area.

  • I love the Philippines too for all it's worth! When I go for vacation in the Philippines. that's when I feel real happiness and love. Thank you for posting this.

  • Thank you for posting this....made me cry. I've been wanting to go back to Australia to be with my husband but after watching your videos in the Philippines, especially this one, it made me realize that I should be thankful that I'm home. Who knows when I'll be able to come home when I finally join my husband in Australia.

Thank you Christine. You never fail to make me smile. I've been following your videos since 2007 when I was in the US. God bless you :) Mabuhay ka!

  • That was amazing, I felt like I was there with you

  • Even though I've been back to the Philippines several times, I don't think I ever saw it the same way you did, with that amazing sense of wonder and excitement at seeing clear water beaches and riding jeepneys. But I do know what it's like to reconnect with family that you've only ever met as a tiny child so I really enjoyed this video in particular. It has certainly made me want to go to the Philippines again :) Salamat, Ate Christine!

  • I admire you going back home and retracing your roots. Some of the younger generation that haven't done this might need to experience it, it's something that they need to fall back on. Some back in our homeland may not have much but they seem to have cheerfulness. Those who are foreign raised are fortunate that they didn't have to experience what our parents have gone through just to give us a better life! Like I always say" To understand the culture you must immerse yourself into it"

  • Thank you soooo much for uploading this video. I visited the philippines in 2009, unfortunately for only one month. But this month was absolutely live-changing for me. I pray that I can go back as soon as possible. I've never met so wonderful people before, never saw such wunderful places, never understood better how precious live is, no matter if you are rich or poor. Thank you for sharing your experiences there and through it remebering (me) of how much I love this country. SALAMAT GID!!!

  • @RidiculusAngel22 lol nah. Its Filipino or Pilipino.

  • @Dianner1307 read my other comment. You don't just have to be Asian to know how it is.

  • Wow, I haven't seen my dad in 7 whole years. & you don't have to just be Pilipino or Asian to know how that feels. I'm puerto rican & haven't seen my moms side OR my dads side of the family in 7 years. I've only seen part of my moms side that lives in the states. If it wasn't for Facebook I would have no connection at all. & it doesn't help when your dads side of the family doesn't call or care about you. I'm going this October because my grandma Rosa is turning 80 years old, & she is a strong

  • sooooo preeeeetty! this is from the guy who cant stop eating pork rinds? jk hahah

  • @RidiculusAngel22 ahh mate, no its not

  • Great video. I myself have never been back in the Philippines. I left when I was about 10 yrs old. Now that I am 41 yrs of age I am longing to go back with m y wife, mother, and kids.

  • I cried :( i miss my family in philippines :(

  • @nokiaanimal I'm Not A Pinoy But Dude! Not Cool!! Yes The Govn. Is Corrupted, That's Why My Ex & Friends Migrated Elsewhere, But Deep In their Heart They Always Love Phillipines & Their Culture... Don't Cheapen Them With Ur Statement Even If What You Say Is True, You Shouldn't Generalize It To All Of Them.

You Think That Because You Yourself Thinking Of Getting Laid, Try To Get To Know Them Then U Know What I Mean

  • YOUR VOICE SOUNDS LIKE NIKITA!

  • For GOD'S SAKES PEOPLE, get over it!!!

I spoke my peace. What is your issue that you can't get over it? Do you want to drag it out? Or do you want to move past this comment, that was made over a month ago?

You guys really have some issues with resolving different opinions. The more you make a stupid issue out of nothing, the more I'm beginning to understand why people don't like Americans visiting their countries. The world DOES NOT revolve around you, or this girl and her video.

  • awesomeness

  • I am very moved, and thankful. I really am.

    Timmy

  • @cowgirl9630 this is HER experience so obviously she'll be in the video shot it be weird if she wasn't. It wudve been like "Christines Experience in Philippines" and then she's not even there, if ur calling her self centered and arrogant for that, then obviously ur vain and cold hearted

  • Dang! You have a lot of extended family in the Philippines

  • beautiful country

    i lovee PHILIPPINES

  • You visit once, and call it "My other home?"

You talk more about yourself, as if you are some goddess worshiped by everyone because you graced them with your presence. So arrogant. You talk little of the beauty of the people and places, only yourself.

  • @castawayds So tell me this, if you are so annoyed by her and her videos why do you even bother to take the time to comment and watch them? HMMMM? And while you think about that you should just do us all a favor and leave your comments elsewhere because no one wants them here. And you know what? This is a video of HER experience....hence the word HER. Which means yeah, she will most probably be talking about HERSELF!

    LOOOVE you Christine:)

  • @cowgirl9630 Why did I take the time to comment?

Simple: its called TRUTH. She uses the backdrop of the Philippine culture to glorify herself. The self-glorification and 'me me me' arrogance was far too obvious to not say something about it. Who cares about who she is, her life is not a public issue. If she REALLY CARED about anything besides herself, she would have stayed out of the pictures and let the Filipinos be the TRUE stars of the show.

Once again, American arrogance at its best.

  • @castawayds I live in Las Pinas. We get Americans all the time coming here like that all the time. They confuse what is common hospitality to us with thinking we are 'priveleged' by their visit. I don't think Americans have that kind of hospitality in their own country.

Many Americans call us 'third world', and are shocked to see we have our own movie stars, musicians, basketball and hockey teams. Usually they try to exploit the 'poor' view, and not the truth and beauty of the Philippines.

  • @castawayds it's her video for her audience. You seem to have a real chip on your shoulder! How someone can come up with such a negative spin on a positive video is amazing.

  • Let me guess, you are an Obama lefty democrat who hates America and who thinks all Americans are arrogant! Get a life.

  • @osprey380 Oh, GOD no!!! You are way off, so wrong, in just about every word you used.

    1. I'm not a democrat

    2. I don't hate America

    3. I certanly don't judge all Americans to be 'arrogant'

    4. I HAVE A LIFE.

Next time, try to think before you write something like this, such emotionally charged misguided statements really discredits yourself.

  • Let me guess, you are an Obama lefty democrat who hates America and who thinks all Americans are arrogant! Get a life.

  • @castawayds Once again, the inferiorority complex of the non-american rears its ugly head. Or is it just jealousy that this Philippina lady was raised in the USA and actually studied in school instead of singing and dancing all day like the public schools here in the Philippines. What philippino culture are you refering to? The cheating, lying, stealing, murdering, extorting? The complete lack of education, following any kind of rules, total corruption by nearly every official?

  • @73Corbin You have a wild imagination... or is it just a high level of hatred who doesn't kiss up to those who stand on the shoulders of others? WHY would I be jealous of someone being raised in the U.S.? The world knows how rude and insulting Americans can be, as shown by the comments here by those who can not tolerate different opinions.

By the way, don't call my family cheating, lying, stealing, murdering OR extorting. We are a Christian family that practices none of those traits.

  • @castawayds This is a sort of biopic..so what do you expect, she should hire another person to describe her emotions?. Did you check the title, "My Other Home...she should tell it as she sees and feels it.

I can't find anyting for an excuse to diss Christine...well, all along I thought she was young and beautiful and available only to find that she has 2 kids already but hey I am married too. She is a smart woman. I am proud to know that there is a Christine Gambito doing what she does.

  • @jurbinsky77 Do you all worship this woman? Americans come to the Philippines all the time, often misinterpreting our hospitality as something to take advantage of but not give back in return.

This was the case of this woman's video. If you are all offended that she was called out on it, then thats an issue you'll have to deal with your own ego. I know Americans are prone to complain and can't cope with criticism. We tolerate rude Americans all the time. Is it too much to ask for respect?

  • @castawayds What arrogance did Christine have done? Why are you so riled up? Your feathers must be ruffled that you call Ms Gambito names. This wonderful lady is tracing back her roots, her origin and she is not ashamed even if her uncles and aunts are not educated and wealthy. Imagine the promotion for the Philippines she dis when she was asked by the Tourism dept to do viideo clips of the beautiful spots of the country. Christine does videos for companies like Microsoft and other tech firms.,

  • @castawayds for crying out loud, this is her vblog. her video. her experience. her feelings. all about christine and her trip in the philippines.

  • @cowgirl9630 Ohhhhhhhhhh... for her "audience"?

Well now, since she's famous then I guess that makes it ok for her to exploit third world countries to use them as her backdrop to make her look more important then, doesn't it?

Seriously... she needs to get over herself... she IS NOT A FILIPINA, and doesn't have an ounce of the grace, respect, and integrity that they have. She is just another Cano who likes to self glorify herself at the expense of others. THATS INSULTING BOTH COUNTRIES.

  • @castawayds first of all, she is a filipina. she has filipino blood. just look at her: dark hair, tan skin. second, she is not exploiting the philippines. as a filipino, i actually admire her for doing this. some filipinos who migrate to the US don't actually bother to reconnect with the people they left behind. and third, she doesn't "self glorify herself at the expense of others". what made you say that? she was just trying to trace her roots.

  • I love it...

  • I don't know why but I kind of cried! Very beautiful!

  • Caribou is completley different. It's a deer in North America. What you're riding is a water buffalo. Caribao is the Tagalog word for it.

  • this is so beautiful. .. it makes me cry

  • can you speak filipino?

  • @madagundong Yes, she can.

  • This is the advantage of being Asian. The culture is family-oriented.

  • This is the advantage of being ASian. The culture is family-oriented.

  • where is the episode 4 and 5?

  • Your dad was born in Munoz not in a hospital? wow that must be hard

  • This made me tear up! There's really no place like home! :(

  • MABUHAY KA CHRISTINE!

  • i cried watching this it was so awsome

the best to you and your family

  • Now i miss the Philippines..

  • @CottonCandy69471 mee too

  • WOW!......Tears of joy for you Christine. I love the culture and people of the Philppines. I am Puti but my Pinoy friends say in a previous life...I was PINOY. I have yet to see this beautiful country but someday soon, I will. I am very happy for you. MABUHAY and Ingat.

  • @ParengGeo I heard Pinoys are also called "Noypis".

I ain't gonna be surprised if they start calling you "Naughties". LOL

  • The Philippine culture is so mired in corruption that it's hopeless for their country to be among the top 5 of the least corrupt countries in Asia.

According to the corruption statistics taken from the Transparency International's 2009 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), the Philippines was given a rating of 2.4 on a scale of 1.0 to 10.0 with 1.0 being the "most corrupt" and 10.0 being the "least corrupt".

  • cont...

With a corruption rating of 2.4, the Philippines is tied with Pakistan and Bangladesh. Imagine that. The two countries which are both sponsors of terrorism and where Osama bin Laden is supposedly still hiding out are tied with the beautiful Republic of the Philippines in the corruption index!!

Oh BTW, the country of Singapore was ranked as the least corrupt with a rating of 9.2..

  • mahal phil sobra...i`m a norwegian dude, who have find the love in phil...love the contry and the people there...i`ll be back for you, giliw...mahal na mahal kita, princess po <3

  • kamusta are you a tagalog i am to kamusta ka

  • MY PPL! xD

  • good job!! really enjoyed the videos....

  • The persistently corrupt Phlippines government has led the country into an irreversible backward state. Its people must reform its police forces, kick the few dominating families out, and restore true democratic structures.

  • I'm touch.. I'm a Filipino.. More power ! :*

  • One day i hope my daughter will go back to phillipines and reunite like this with my side of the family.. O wait ,how is that possible im a Mexican ahh mann shoot.

  • i feel like crying. T.T

  • This vid touch me profoundly (we used to raise carabaos, goats, and chickens) as I was born and raised in Mindanao Philippines and when I came to Canada and brought my family here a decade ago, my family and I (specially my parents) wanted to go back to visit but things are more complicated than it would seem so the plan was postponed year after year which saddens my heart to see my family's longing for the relatives and homeland.

  • Proud to be Pinoy..yeahhh
