wow, how the fuck did slipknot come to mention on this thread, anyone who willingly likes them should kill themselves right away. IUt's become rather an annoyance that when I go to listen to some of my favorite music to see someone bringing up deathcore, slipknot, etc, if you love that shit, why are you listening to this?

Entombed, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility, and Hypocrisy don't have same atributes as Morbid. Deathcrush is more death metal than this album...thas a lude statment man!
@Raven99664 It has elements of black metal as well as elements of death metal and thrash. People didn't put as much emphasis on the different subgenres back then as they do now, but even so it's not JUST black metal, there's other stuff in there as well.

These days it's easy just to pull influence from every (in)famous metal band and blatantly release yet another shitty album of generic crap. These guys had little influences for the sound they were after, only some bands before them that sounded even more primitive and "horrible".
Personally, I think this has some novelty to it, considering in 1987 this sort of thing was pretty new and still in development

@ LUIGI666SLIPKNOT1 agreed. I'll admit if it weren't for slipknot when I was 14, I'd never gotten my first issue of Metal Edge. With that I saw covers for Children of Bodom and Six Feet Under. From there I found Cradle of Filth, and so on and so forth. I have a high level of love for slipknot, but they're not the best and haven't been the same since the second album. Love them but hate them. Corey is pretty wide ranged, but so is dani, and that ain't saying much.

Dead's demon turned out to be Euronymous. He really pissed him off, he had no home, except the rehearsal house, and used to drive him out with a chainsaw (according to Hellhammer), so Per had to sleep in the woods. No surprise he killed himself, his best "friends" were all against him, and he had moved to Norway just to be Mayhem's top vocalist. Öystein was an asshole to him. Good riddance when Varg killed him, but of course, that was murder by another asshole.

Euronymous was a mediocre musician, and as I said before, Mayhem wasn't anything without Dead. Check out Mayhem's first album without Dead. It's a bunch of uninspired shit. I like Euronymous' great compositions, actually the Live in Leipzig period, where the whole of De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas had not been done with Blackthorn.
Dead had a limited but great talent, he took people by surprise with his antics, but he was manic depressive, so when he proposed De Mysteriis, Euronymous went for it, darkest album ever. Still is, even though people died making it. Dead started to build the mythology about this book he was looking for.

Why do hate a metal band. No don`t tell me its for children and the other stuff you know I heard before I want a real reason. I don`t hate an metal band. Well yeah dead is really into this music but this don`t mean that other bands are posers and they suck.... stop hating on other metal bands! Dead's demon turned out to be Euronymous. He really pissed him off, he had no home, except the rehearsal house, and used to drive him out with a chainsaw (according to Hellhammer), so Per had to sleep in the woods. No surprise he killed himself, his best "friends" were all against him, and he had moved to Norway just to be Mayhem's top vocalist. Öystein was an asshole to him. Good riddance when Varg killed him, but of course, that was murder by another asshole.

@louiscfc93 Mayhem weren't even that good of a band moron. Their only great songs were Freezing Moon and Funeral Fog. The rest were pretty mediocre. Morbid was far superior. Euronymous was a mediocre musician, and as I said before, Mayhem wasn't anything without Dead. Check out Mayhem's first album without Dead. It's a bunch of uninspired shit. I know what I'm talking about- So fuck you pussy.

@pashedmotatos i have Deathcrush.its great.Although i do prefer Morbid over Deathcrush era Mayhem but no Morbid song is as good as anything on De Mysteriis Dom Satanas.Dead wrote the great lyrics and Euronymous wrote the great music.I dont see why you have to be such a bitch about it

I like Euronymous' great compositions, actually the Live in Leipzig period, where the whole of De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas had not been done with Blackthorn.
Dead had a limited but great talent, he took people by surprise with his antics, but he was manic depressive, so when he proposed De Mysteriis, Euronymous went for it, darkest album ever. Still is, even though people died making it. Dead started to build the mythology about this book he was looking for.

wrong asshole, everyone enjoyed dead's company, they met him at the airport and took him in as one of the other black metalist [it was small but very terrorist like so they kept it a secret but took it very serious] DEAD sent mayhem a note & dead bird by mail in a box, it said that Morbid was going nowhere ( also because thrash sucks & dead wanted to be a real band and saw that in mayhem.) everyone is mayhem knew dead was fucked up in the head, but Euronymous always encouraged
