This doesn't really explain how to get the gold, it just shows the end.

you need a few steps before the start of the vid

1. Get into the dark tunnel there is a mask on the wall.

2. You get to the pool turn the statues facing each other trigger the mask again and push them back to back to reveal the next pannels

3. Then you can push the books and read the last pannel behind that silver which trigger the final mask in the hall for the gold.

Only the last part is shown

turn their faces to the wall then something will happend

I hope that someone can give soem better help than this, cuz I can´t even interact with a single book. When I go to the library and I approach one of those books, Lara doesn't have any reaction. Can some body help me with this problem?

@MrRedberet I think you need to turn the statues with the spears facing back to back by the pool. The panel with that yellow face tongue thing turns over for you to read a clue. Only then will those books be interactive. At least that's what I did and it worked!

After messing around in the manor for hours and restarting my game completely over I figured it out. The way the videos are split up it's very easy to get confused. In order to get the books to work you must 1st do the library, and access the clue hidden down in the dark basement like area. That is unlocked after you shoot the wall and put both bookcases on the markers. After reading the clue the statues will theb be able to be turned back to back. Then read that clue then the book will work.

I have since sold my copy, but If I remember properly you must 1st go into the underground area and read the clue. Then and ONLY then will you be able to turn the statues back to back and the wall will flip 180 to reveal the 2nd clue. This is all within the pool area. Now you should be able to use the books. Its a real pain in the ass but it has to be done in that order, or it doesn't work. Hope that helps...

i experienced the same thing man, it must be a graphic mistake , you must start a new game all over , go in the croft manor and in the same room do what the this video shows you , just remember forget DO NOT destroy the wooden wall .

Before you push the books go to the swimming pool. There you will find two Athena statues. Turn them so they arent facing each other at all (the wall between them will turn around. Then try the books.

The books aren't working? Go to the swimming pool. Go up to the ledge with the two Athena statues (the ones you turned so there spears would form a cross) turn the statues right AWAY from each other, so they aren't facing each other AT ALL. Then try the books. And Volia, it should work. Well, it worked for me anyways. Then, as this thing shows after the libary, do that and VOLIA! :D

Yes I had the same but you have to find the written stone above the pool and read it.. after that you can move the books.

You first had to read the hint located at the pool. Before that it isn't possible to push them.

And then, do it in the right order (see walkthrough).

you don't shoot at them you touch them. and to do that you press the same button you pick up things. for example the PS2 is triangle. and if you need help just look up some different walkthroughs. hope i helped!!!
