  • It works the exact same way as portals on walls. If he pushed the square portals against the walls, it wouldn't look any different from Portal's portals... Can someone please explain to me what the big deal is? I don't mean any offense, I think this is a cool program you have.

  • what happen if one of the "portal" fell into the other one?

  • That's why portals should only be projected in walls.

  • How to you use rotate and move?

I am using the most recent version

  • Hey, do you know when this will have at least a game beta release and if the full thing will be free because i want this SO BAD!

  • Its already out.

  • Splitting it by its verts?

  • how do you grab it like he does at :54 in released portalized?

  • Portals should be double sided.

  • Umm... Well... Nevermind

  • @Bleenderhead Agree, like in that interdimensional sofa video (look it up) :D

  • Not Download Portalized

    Make To Blender 3D

  • If you pause at 1:01 you see a "lagg" that can't be fixed... I think... Doesn't look great but your game does.

  • I cannot figure out how to do that. it's driving my nuts. You're still using the Newton Phyics Engine, right? What you do, split the body into two bodies?

  • Haha. Yup, still Newton. I'll let your imagination run wild on how it's done :)

  • Well, went ahead and posted a video reponse with a video I posted eariler showing what I have accomplished so far. I know, I'm a programmer, so you'll probably say I have to figure this out on my own. Question though: You use defered rendering right? Is this what makes it easy to clip plane meshes? Still have a problematic issue of spliting physics bodies :(

Crap, sorry if i double posted the vid response. seems to take forever to post.

  • I still can't see the response, but I can answer your question: the clipping has nothing to do with deferred rendering (because Portal used forward rendering, yet it used the same method to visually clip the meshes). Just use a pixel shader to clip fragments if they're behind a certain plane.

  • I tried posting another vid reply, but it appears that that is not working either. Anyway the video i was talking about was named "Portals Scalable"

  • @nullsquared i cant get my portalized to work. when i click the editor it plays some music but doesnt run. I have a radeon hd 6950 graphics card. what should i do?

  • Wigle in wiggle out in out in out wiggle it all about :D GREAT :D another cool program that I will be loosing all of my hours on LoL :D

  • Incredible, i can't wait for this to be released!

When will a public version be out?

  • Very nice, awesome work!

  • post more videos PLEASE!!! :D :D :D I LOV EYOU!

  • Nice to see the proof there. Although it's a little odd to see inside an object that isn't properly rendered, from the back of a portal.

Any reason why you didn't add a cover over the back of the portal, as a simple solution? Course it don't really matter. lol

Glad to see some update videos... I just can't wait to play around with this myself! I'm sure I'll spend hours messing around with it!

How much is left before you're ready to release it?

  • Uh, I suppose a back can be added, didn't quite think about it, haha.

How much is left: portals need to be fixed up 99.99%, gravity tinkering, and just some minor fixing up here and there, maybe a few test levels, and this summer's release should be good to go.

  • Don't forget resizable portals :D

  • don't worry, those are what im doing right now. it's a bit complicated with the whole "one-object-in-two-places" idea considering those two places are not of the same size ;)

  • Well I mean, don't you think it's odd, seeing objects go through a portal from behind it?

Like I said, functionally, it doesn't matter. lol It's just a visual thing.

So are you actually making some sort of game out of this, Or is it just a physics/portal toy?

Heh, I just found an old test demo on my computer from when Portalized was just starting out. It's just a darkish 3D room, and you can toss Portal Cubes, and change the gravity direction. At least I think it's from this. lol

  • OMG WANT
