I remember getting a used copy on eBay way back when this game first came out. I made it all the way to the end of disc 3, and the game froze during a cutscene. No matter what I did, I could never get the game to go past that moment.

Likewise, I've never been able to bring myself to play through it again to finish it, even though it was my favorite of the series. I couldn't get into VII.

@mania66107 well final Fantasy is an entire franchise of games and movies. there is no starting game since they all have different story lines and people. you can get FF1 o the nes the gba and the psp same with 2. 3 u can get on the snes and the DS. 4 on the ds. 5 on the gba. 6 7 8 and 9 all on the ps1 but u can get 7 on the psp and ps3 throung psn for 10 bucks. 10 and 10-2 u get on ps2. 11,12,13 u get on the ps3 and xbox 360 though 11 in an mmo u have to pay for. i would start with FF7 cause it

They're mostly unrelated, but some games do have sequels. FF7 has like 5 games under the FF7 name, and it turns out that FFX is set a millenia before FF7 on a different planet, but in the same universe, though plot wise they're TOTALLY unrelated which is why a lot of fans hate the connection. Personally I hate it because FF7 has been milked to death and feels really cheap now, FFX also had a sequal called FFX-2. FFXIII had a sequal on the DS, and FFIV had one too, but I don't remember what on.

He's wrong. Well not about it being re-released, because it was, but it's basically a downloadable copy of the disc playable on the PS3. If you have the PS1 game then it's 100% the same, even graphics wise. There's been no improvements made to the game. Same goes for Metal Gear Solid.

you should be able to get a copy on eBay i got one there a few months ago. FYI its for the ps1 it has 4 discs and i have over 100 hours of game play on it and i only did a few side quests but i did spend a few hours training and wandering aimlessly. the best part is the monsters lvl up as you do so hard monster stay hard but bosses do not lvl as you lvl so if you get to lvl 100 on disc 1 the bosses will be 1 hittable.
