I've seen this style used for photographs, but never for motion footage - It is amazing, real life as an art, superb work by the creator :D

I was first introduced to the 'miniature effect' through the tilt-shift photography of Miklos Gaal and Olivo Barbieri, but I must say this completely tops it, with the introduction of motion and sound, and the quality of the recording.

It's such a common effect now, I can't help but think the artists who use this technique need to develop a deeper conceptual framework if they wish to maintain interest in their work.

nah its the real thing, i dont have any experience in photography or video editing but i'd say that he made the miniature effect by focusing on the center part and blurring the edges a bit and playing with lighting and stuff.

yea, i believe it's the 35mm-format telephoto lens with tilt and shift movements. Only extreme photography enthusiasts use that kind of lens since it cost roughly about $1,500 - $3,000.
