  • i prefer the duet florez - mattei...

  • Love that polka dot vest.

  • 5:28 "Dunque?" - "All'opera" - "Andiam" - "Da bravo"...."Oooooh....il meglio mi scordavo, il meglio mi scordavo..."

    the best transition ever

  • all'idea di quel metallo, portentoso onnipossente...

  • Saw this Almaviva live in Milan. Amazing! *.*

  • Brillante!

  • bellissimo duetto, baritono tra i migliori in circolazione

  • When they sing in duet it sounds absolutely breathtaking.

  • This Almaviva is fantastic!

  • The baritone is great!!Who says "not bad"?Pietro Spagnoli is probably the best baritone of his generation, and his acting his excellent too.

  • I agree. I heard his Figaro in London, and the audience in ROH loved his Figaro, including myself.

  • He never sounded like a tenor to me, except on his "numero quindici" Fs. Weird!

  • Placido Domingo sings Figaro on one of his recordings

  • @Falstaff85 domingo used to be a high baritone. He's sung everything!

  • I like it! Even a lot! :)

And I didn't even notice it being "an off night"...

But I complitely agree about not comparing it to P&W, there's just no point.

Besides, tastes and fashions change over time!

  • Good heavens, if we compare every singer to Prey or Wunderlich then we'll never be satisfied. Besides, live performances should be cut a little slack -- these two are good singers (very good in Florez's case) having an off night. Don't go crazy over it.

  • I think this is some increadible duet with two fantastic singers

  • increible juan diego flores!! dando la cara x el Peru! xD y esta opera igual de increible!

  • Great duet!!!!

Placido Domingo once sang both parts.

  • yay for tenor-baritone duets! I love their interpretation in this one. Juan Diego is leggero as ever and the baritone was overall pretty good.

  • Its the duet between the Count and Figaro from the opera "Il barbiere di Siviglia" by Gioacchino Rossini.

  • This duet is so charming:D nine and a half minute of great singning, I enjoyed every bit of it:) Florez has a such wonderful "friendly" voice and this role sure suits him very very well:) And the baritone is not that bad, come on!;D first of all he has a very pleasant timbre and makes Figaro a very human and modern character, which I don't think is bad at all:)

  • Part of which opera is it?

  • Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia (the barber of seville)

  • Well, he is different type from somebody like Bastianini, whom I love also... but this is why I called him "MODERN" in both good and bad sense.

  • A delicious duet and, for me, a highlight of the opera.

  • Barbiere has so many "highlights", but certainly, this is one of them for me, too^^.

  • You are welcome!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this performance. Loved it! Thanks for sharing.

  • Florez is good, the baritone is not bad.
