As a basque myself it is nice to see how this basque company (Irizar) succeeds in the world. It is a cooperative (the workers own the company) and its HQ are in a nice green valley surrounded by mountains in Gipuzkoa province where the biggest cooperativist movement of the world is.
i have just driven a scania with an irizar body from shropshire to the welsh coast and back,my usual drive is a dennis and let me tell you the scania was a world away an absolute flying machine and just so comfortable.
if any of you drive coaches for a living yourl know the scanie/irizar is one of the absolute best
I drive these, they have their faults but are really good to drive. 2004-2006 models are best. 2008 seems lower quality and road holding. also need big engine option.
I dont get this,if scanias are so c**p why do they get awards and so many companys buy them? Not small ones either,National Express has 100's of Irizar Pb's around the uk :|
Have you seen the build quality of these, Its appalling, everythings held together with self tappers, and they only have two sizes, short and very long! If you ever get a close look at one check the gaps round the windows where they've been filled with window sealant!
No its made in Spain and very badly, and the technology comes from the 80's the windows don't fit properley and the electrics are notoriously unreliable and it has a Scania engine so breaks down all the time!
I agree. Later this year CORGI/Original Omnibus are releasing a model of it and I personally can't wait. They are releasing it in the National Express Livery. Then later on into different ones.
i drive a Scania for National express no problems

Yeah, really! I'd prefer an MCI J4500 over one of these.
