Gamefaqs has good guides for this game on where to find parts. Doesn't have much on the tech tree unlocks though :/

Also playing your first run on Easy is a good idea, going back on Normal for S-rank later. After that, starting Layout 2 and getting your XO, then doing the Special goofy missions on Very Easy to get your first wave guns. You can also run the Special missions on Layout 2 in Training right after that, without finishing layout 2 story for some reason. Good for Point/ngmatec farming.

@IBOUGHTYAMOM You can get normal aircraft. You unlock lasers and ducks the second time through.

@CompassProductions have you heard of the 56 cm / 45 cal cannons and were to get it and what lvl is it dropped at??

Oh yeah and as soon as you can, run the Second inferno mission and get the Championship Pennant flag. Put this flag on your main combat/farming boats to get 50% more points after missions. This will help up your silver swan level and unlock more tech tree stuff. Hope this helps some people!

@TheSquishey You have 2 missions layouts in this game, layout 1 (first run through it) and layout 2 (unlocked in your second run through).

You also have 3 story paths, depending on the XO you get, and all 3 have their own special missions throughout the story. There's Werner (kill everything first 3 missions), then Braun (minimum kills, ditch Tsubaki in 3) and Tsubaki (minimum kills EXCEPT 3rd mission, kill everything, and wait for Tsubaki to catch up before exiting South).

@TheSquishey Layout 2 is the game mode you unlock when you beat the game once. Supercarrier holds 30 planes and is dropped in Layout 2.

@TheSquishey They're called Duck Fighter/Interceptor/Bomber/Sco­ut, and I am using the Supercarrier, which has no nation, but visually looks like a modern-era CV of the US.
