it is. i participate in a large medieval group called the society for creative anachronisms and that is what they are all about. it is a great way to get away from the modern world and just have fun. camping but with a little more style.

Indeed. But the plague killed a far far higher percentage of people and there was virtually no way to avoid it. Nor did they have any drugs to contain it.
