@mewmewpower4 Actually it was cancelled because after the writers strike CBS wanted it to become "CSI:Vampire" when the writers refused - CBS refused to put it back on.

I think the fact that many people didn't know whether Moonlight was still on hurt it too. I heard that Silver Pictures and Warner Brothers wanted CBS to pick up more of the production costs (and I think CBS did not want to). Jericho was also a short-lived series on CBS. CBS decided to give it a second season due to its strong fan base, but its ratings were not very good. The Jericho example also factored into their decision-making as to why they decided not to bring Moonlight back).

Unfortunately CBS decided not to renew Moonlight for a season 2 despite our efforts.

the Sci-Fi network is showing season 1 episodes starting Jan 23rd I believe. Also, Moonlight is coming out on DVD around Jan 20th/ 23rd.
