  • No!!! Your hair!!!

  • I'm interested in studying Japanese in either Kyoto or Tokyo, but I've heard a lot of Japanese people don't understand the Kyoto dialect. Would it be better to study in Tokyo for that reason?

  • @lissheim If you learn standard Japanese, all Japanese people should able to understand you. Everyone knows standard Japanese, but not everyone will be able to understand certain dialects. I myself am studying standard for now and until I'm better I want to learn Osaka-ben.

  • @EnticingDarkness I can only assume they teach standard Japanese in Kyoto's language schools, but I don't know how strong the dialect is when you talk to the locals, I don't know how easily you would pick it up. Where are you studying?

  • @lissheim Oh, I read your question wrong. :) I think I know what you mean now. Yeah, I would also think they would teach standard. I know that some dialects may range from being like a whole other language from standard, and some others may just have minor alterations of words. Not sure about Kyoto's though. D: I'm studying alone, but I found a book on Amazon that supposedly teaches Kansai's dialect. If you were to learn in Kyoto, you may have to find a friend who can teach you the dialect.

  • LOL

  • Poor eggs

  • I am sure that 'Ninuki' is very popular word in Kansai region. You can find it in japanese dictionary; and used also in Chikamatsu's work (Literature) of Edo era. I like 'Ninuki' .it's good to eat with salad.

    Thank you for the video.

  • True Kyotojin are really part jewish. Thats why many Kyoto people have big nose in Kyoto. If they do not have big nose in Kyoto then that means they are not true locals.

If you scoff at me for saying such things then watch youtube video -Japanese are really jewish. LOL not all Japanese are but just mostly the ones with big noses.

  • you sure are a laugh! haha XD

    good job!!

  • you know, a hard boiled egg will spin on a flat surface. a raw egg won't. it's a much cleaner way to distinguish between hard boiled and raw eggs

  • Ahh! So that's why your hair is so beautiful! You wash it in raw eggs! (How do you say raw egg in Japanese?)

  • That would be 生卵 (nama tamago), although there might be a different word in Kansai-ben! Nice video btw!

  • you can roll can figure if an egg is a ninuki or not if you try to make it spin on the table. they dont spin if they are not boiled! :P

  • haha there is a trick :D you have to put them in water ;) or try to look thru them in the light xD but your way is way more funny. just one question: how can i tell from the word when to pronounce the U and when not? you see like desu is pronounced kinda like "des" and ninuki is not pronounced "ninki".
