  • Comment removed

  • gilla om du fortfarande lyssnar på den 2012

  • Svenska > engelska versionen.

    Men bra låt iaf.

Sjukt stark låt när man var liten. :P

  • This is how you use 3minutes! :) go sweden och pontare ;)

  • Bättre på svenska!!

  • Mäktigt! !

  • Stolt svensk!<3

  • So much better in Swedish.

  • This shows the world Swedens power in music :) Roger Pontare <3

  • Why ruin the video with crappy editing?

  • @Dirtyplanet he has right bekose the swedish verision is beter

  • @Porkusido They don't care about what he sings about they care how he sings ;)

  • So please, stop typing on youtube (on english so everyone in the world can se your stupidity) that you want this song to be the Swedish national anthem.

The extreme right (racists and national-socialists) did that many years ago, all you do is embarrasing yourself and the country you claim to love so much ^^

Im Swedish myself and i love my country, but for the completely opposite reasons the national-socialists and rascists does.

Well, it is nationalistic, but for the native peoples, not you.

  • @Porkusido Btw you do know that Roger is inspired by the native americans and he refferes (spelling) to the indians? And that this song is towards that area, so i cant find this racist :)

  • @Whimpen Well that's pretty much what i said in my 2 comments so i don't get why you point it out to me but.. yes i know :P

I never said the song was racist, just that the embarrassingly stupid people saying it should be the Swedish national anthem was, those saying it after his performance in euro vision.

My comments was a response to the idiots still commenting that this should be our national anthem, its embarrassing all Swedes and particularly themselves.

  • @Porkusido Sorry my bad :) just read that last one and wanted to make thing clear hehe :D

  • @Porkusido well... u see. the fun thing there. the extreme left has loads of proud jew haters. aftonbladet and other newspapers write extreme racist jew hate propaganda... and it's okay :S but if a right wing dude critizises a muslim cause they dont like human rights. then he's racist and should be put to death. 40 years ago the extreme right was racists. nowadays the racism flipped to the left side

  • @geson86 Well obviously there are racists in the extreme left as well, the extreme left isn't any better than the extreme right, however i have some hard time understanding the relevance of this as every political view and ideology have members that are very racist.

Your claim that the racists have moved from the right to the left is not really true, look at the Sweden democrats, every issue is solved by stopping immigration ^^

The left is often criticizing the actions of Israel, not the Jews.

  • @geson86 No racism is alright obviously and i dont really understand the meaning of your comment, but to sum it up, there are racists in every corner of every ideology, the racists have a strong home in the extreme right in Sweden and many organisations like NSF and the father organisations of the Sweden democrats which had clear Nazi policies are still taking up much of Sweden racists. Not to talk about all the racists in the Sweden democrats (not all are, but some are real big time racists to)

  • @geson86 So nah, the racists are still in the extreme right and they will probably always have a huge number there, but the extreme left ain't far from it.

I have no problem with liberals, there are obviously racists there as well, but not more than in the social democrats (there always will be some) and they have valid points, so don't think i attack all the right movements just because i talk about the extreme ones.

  • @geson86 Im a lefty though, but not an extreme one, and the social democrats are actually the ones that fought for most of the rights and acceptances we have today.

The Liberals have done a lot to, but its the social democrats that truly made Sweden what it is today, were we all have more equal possibilities and employee protections. Its the old people today that built this, we forget this way to quickly, so lets thank them by giving them decent retirements and joining a union (make it better)

  • @Porkusido thoose ideals fell decades ago... society today is not a place were you'll be accepted for who you are and for what u are capable of. There is but one rule and it doesn't even apply to thoose who can use it. Money, it rules all. "All hail capitalism" >_<

Ps.There's alot that could be added to what i just posted. Try using your common sense if u are replying to this comment.

  • Whats funny with some of the comments here is that they think Roger is singing about Sweden and the Swedish people.. hes not and those people have just proven themselves retarded!

Roger Pontare himself denied every claim like this from the extreme right himself after singing it at eurovision song contest, saying that hes singing about the native peoples (at Eurovision he meant the indians in America.)

When he sings it in Sweden, hes singing about the sami people.

  • This is power metal without distorted guitars xD

  • @turbooggyboy There are loads of distorted guitar in this tune. Listen closely.

  • @TiipX Not enough distortion. NEEED MOOOOOOOOOOAAAAARRRRRRR!

  • @turbooggyboy HELL FUCKING BENT FOR LEATHER!!! \m/

  • HE IS KING!! SVERIGE!

  • @hinkaeger haha lost? 2011 var det bästa året sen typ 2005 i ESC men även i MF

  • The best and most powerful song through all times! (but better in swe) :D (Y)

  • Comment removed

  • hes so saxxy

  • i think the english version is better really

Just an exemple of a part that is better in swedish. The whole song is better in swedish.

  • @Fantasyof1995

    håller med, svenska e bättre!

  • How could the two fags from Denmark win over this guy? :)

  • @Longbluecoat oh dude, they were not fags and that song is awesome, though this is better.

I hope one day that this will be the swedish anthem cause i am a swede

  • @Shaqify32 I was just a joke my friend, I never said that all Danish are fags, just that its easier finding friends! :) :)

  • @Longbluecoat i get it dude, it's ok!

My meaning of saying those masterguys should be fags is so behind

  • @Longbluecoat I know right.

  • @Longbluecoat If he would be performing in swedish with subtitles instead of translating it into some half-assed junk I bet he would stand a chance against those "fags"

  • @Longbluecoat They took epicness drugs, which are illegal in 20 universes, 50 dimensions and 100 alternate realities...?

  • This song is fucking metaL! \m/

  • Roger Pontare. Worlds last real viking

  • @Musikkingofthecookie hahah viking xD more an indian and a sami to be exact! But this is on of the best esc songs ever done!

  • @Hanubis1 i just meant that there were still indian and sami's left.

He needs to be the last something

  • @Musikkingofthecookie Aye! just want to poke on you with a stick if you say that sami's and vikings are the same thing!:P People tend to do that ><

    But yea get it ^^

  • @Hanubis1 Sami and Finnish-speaking Finns are the only Nordic people who were not Vikings. ;) But the Swedish speaking finns where i think. ;)

  • @Musikkingofthecookie lol I'm an "indian". We're still kicking around :p

  • @Smashley27 i know you are, your awesome. But the vikings aren't, aye? :D

  • @Smashley27 we have natives in sweden too :) called samis

  • @Musikkingofthecookie More like an indian father xmas....

  • Shit we have soo mutch to pay back for american indians and for my sake samer and the list go long... this song... going to eko in my mind .... i dident do a shit then but it is my duty to clean up the past !!!

  • Imagine this + epic sax guy.

  • @LudieProductions HAHA! Exactly!

  • fucking powerful

  • Back in the day Sweden didn't just send some fag to tell us he will be popular.. Awesome this!

  • @denni342 yet the fag brought you to 3rd place, and I believe this ended up sixth? Times changes, even though this song is awesome, it wouldn't fit in 2011..

  • @peaceandlovemotherfs Sorry but if you get many votes in ESC it doesn't mean you're good.... Maybe many years ago but the last years weren't that good..

  • He is my friend's relative.. :)

  • This old geezer criticized Denmark for sending two older men... But look how it turned out; We won, you lost!

  • this song was a lot of power in it....^^ really nice!

    kisses from Brazil!

  • so epic video, too bad some tard fcked it up by editing the perfection into something... utterly worse

  • What happend to eurovisions real music?? only the worst bands and the most girly boys represents every country theese days,

  • Cuz of this song I think it's worth to learn Sweedish.

Roger Pontare is original, unique and has emotional songs

  • @nightmarealeksinac He`s singing in English...

  • @chanctonbury63

I know that but I first heard this song in Sweedish

    That's why I said that

  • its not spirits... its wind realy

  • every time i hear this song im almost crying, it is sooo freaking goooood!!!

but the swedish version is soo much better ;D

  • @MuppNilsson To bad sweden looked down on this artist. Same with Nordman, Hel etc.

It was just about new, new this, new that, legeal immigrants (i dont mind that), freedom in sweden, no nordic athem music.

Now day's, I cant even love my own country, i'll be called racist.

Now day's, we cant even sing our own National Anthem without being called racist's.

I miss the 90's when we could listned to Nordic and love our country, with out been called racist.

  • @ExtendedSpace i dont see the problem, stop giving a fuck about what others think! go out and sing our national anthem as loud as you fucking can and if some one calls you racist flip them off and continue singing!

The only thing that means any thing is what you think and to hell with the rest :D

  • @JohanssonJ92 Hey, Tack :)

  • @ExtendedSpace if thats racist, then america is beyond help in terms of racist, lmfao

  • @soccersj93 O'er the land of the free and the homes of the braves? hell yeaaah!!

  • @ExtendedSpace

"Now day's, we cant even sing our own National Anthem without being called racist's."

Thats totally untrue. Some extreme patriots have conspiracy theories about things like that. Probably in all the swedish schools we sing the national anthem on graduation etc. Maybe there are a few expections.

But of course if you go around and sing the national anthem loudly on the streets for no reason, people will think you are retarded or extreme right activist.

  • @Flyingtart In my city in norrland there was a student who couldnt wear a t shirt with the national anthem on the back.. And we didnt celebrate the exams in the church anymore because of the minorty who wasent christian -.-.. So yeah its pretty true, thank god we are starting to sing the anthem at the exams again and celebrating in church.. wonder why ? :)

  • @Flyingtart

just have your soldier's say to the Swedich King and not to the Korpral and you

welcome to Sweden old tradition seen's Noa's grand son

  • @ExtendedSpace First of all, hes singing about the native people of Sweden, not the swedes in general (probably not about you)

    Secondly, thats BS.

We sing the national anthem quite ofthen, it just sounds weird to all of a sudden start singing it in the street.

Newsflash by the way, the 2 groups who most actively celebrates Swedens nationalday is the immigrants and the far right (racists all the way up to nazi groups)

Maybe its the far right that ruined all these things..

  • @Porkusido Aye, Thank's for the comment. Was looking for where the problem may be.

  • @ExtendedSpace Nazi groups using the flag and anthem as their symbols.

by nazi groups im talking about Neo nazis like NSF.

  • @ExtendedSpace To bad that this song is about North American idians then ;)

  • @Jakelol1980

You sure of that? It's more like a fantasy sami theme on his clothes with indian themed song. It's not necissarily about north american indians. More like fantasy sami-indians.

  • @Flyingtart Im sure, he has said it him self and the axe he sings about in the swedish version is a tomahawk becuse sami people never seen the axe as a symbol as the Indians did, The song is about when the europeans invaded North Amerika and also there is a North American indian on stage dancing.

  • @Jakelol1980

Oh well but he is from Lapland and he is dressed like a sami, not like an indian. That's why I supposed this song could be placed outside history and be more like a fantasy.

  • @Jakelol1980

He is toying with the similarities of american indian culture/history and the sami culture/history, that's atleast for sure.

  • @Jakelol1980 Aye, maybe, but you get my point? x)

  • @ExtendedSpace

Oh Sweden looked down on it? Stop being a paranoid bitch. We fucking voted this to the Eurovision. Atleast I did. Also you should not have skipped your english lessions.

It's less controversial to have far right wing ideas now than it ever was in the past, so please shut up and enjoy your opinions.

  • @Flyingtart ... I just told you my opinion on how it looks in sweden - MY OPINION, and everyone i know sees the same. And who cares about spelling in comments? It isnt highschool or political reports.

  • To be honest this guy has a good voice, just that all the rest makes him look like an idiot. Come to the UK Roger. This is beneath you. We will help you get sorted.

  • @chanctonbury63

Lol, Why should he'd better by you??

Well, maybe by the Viking mythology?

You ARE our ancestors(Scandinavian Vikings and so on...) so don't argue(lol again)

Anyway, this is a great piece of tune, muzic and vocals, and 11 years later, it's still great..

    WSBP(Which should be proofed)

So, great muzic will always survive, not really depending of "modern shite" as Malc. McLaren called it?!!

    Take care and

    Cheerz/MazterGuitarz

  • @chanctonbury63 He wouldn't be Roger if he didn't look like an idiot.

  • @Jagvillboienhatt He doesn't look like an idiot...hes got a traditional costume of a indian or of some sort. Grow the up ffs!

  • @TheImamo93 Take it easy, I'm joking ;p

  • @Jagvillboienhatt Still grow up xD

  • @TheImamo93 not a indian, they are called samer

  • @fisknyll1 I wrote indians or of some sort, which means that it was either indian or samer!

  • @TheImamo93 lol upset? i'm just saying that indians and samer aint the same, they got nothing to do with each other. we've never had indians in sweden

  • @fisknyll1 lol why would I be xD anyway, they do actully have a lot in common if u would see how they live! I've studied these tribes, trust me, I know this and that is why ppl tend to think they are dressed up as indians.

  • @TheImamo93 It's not an indian costume. The clothes are from Sweden's native habitants SAMER. I don't think that was clear enough in the performance, so people thought we made a song about native americans. A bit sad because if you look at it from this point of view, the song becomes so much more powerful.

  • @thismustbeme Samer and indians are very similar culture.

  • @TheImamo93 well.. depends on. but the thing I meant was that the performance was about our country and culture, not USA. what ever it means to be an indian or same is not mine to comment.

  • @chanctonbury63 NO! BACK OF! He's ours!

  • @chanctonbury63 WTF!!!!!!!!! you know, in the freaking swedish version he sings "aldrig sviker jag mitt land" which means "i will never let down my country", so why would he go to UK ???

  • @plupp1master He might get himself a decent singing career instead of prancing around the Eurovision in silly clothes. Anyway whats freaky about the Swedish version?

  • the oringal swedish version are better

  • the original swedish version are so much better.

  • Just because you can make all sorts of video effects doesn't mean that you should. Visually this video is a disaster.

  • ;-)

  • Great song from Sweden. Would have won any other year than 2000 :)

  • First I heard the version with hammerfall but this one is cool as well.GREAT SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ROGER PONTARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

  • ROGER PONTARE!!!! xD <3

THE SONG IS 1000 TIEMS BETTER IN SWEDISH.

  • Cancer to my ears.

  • @Zebbe190 RETARD. Han vann idiot. -01. Melodifestivalen.

  • Jämför "When spirits are calling my name"

  • what the f//k is he dressed up as????

  • @chanctonbury63 He is dressed like an indian :))) But this song handle about every native people but he looks very cool like an indian :))))

  • @kokasosi There is a theory that the weaker the song the more spectacular the costumery and effects are. This is a perfect example of that. Cheap vacuum packed Eurocrap.

  • @chanctonbury63

Ofcourse its not the original you wanker.. Someone else made that so stfu!

  • @dnbwriter Original what you twat?

  • @chanctonbury63

    The effects ofc..

  • Sjukt ful edit.

  • Comment removed

  • WONDERFUL song!!! Such a great singing voice!!! Sweden deserved a higher placing with this. Even I agree the Swedish version is better but never mind. Excellent Song!!

  • the Swedish version has so much more heart and soul in it :)

  • @termometen AGREED!!!!

  • @termometen In the swedish version, he is singing about how he retreated up to the mountains and heard winds (read:spirits in the wind) which whispered warcries to him, and gave him the final will to defend his country. Kind of. And more :)

  • @Silverormen yes indeed ^^

  • @termometen espeshelly when he plays it with hammerfall at melodifestivalen
