i want to know that too, but you can already have yahoo mail push notifications, even before 3.0. But thats only for yahoo mail for some reason.

not sure, but certain aim and other apps, im sure it does already for mail, but if not most likely VERY soon it will be updated.

actually i just found out recently that push notifications are available with the update. you just have to download apps that support it. the first app to support push is tap tap revenge 2.6. if you dL that app you can go to the iphone settings and under wi-fi you'll see the notifications menu. on it you'll see tap tap. and mms wont be available till later this summer. it's not apple's fault, it's at&t's. so don't fret my friend

you dont actually have that smiley face icon on your home screeen. that was just for the presentation. it doesnt ahve an icon its just a setting

you have to have an app like A.I.M with the new 3.0 upgrade. make sure it has the upgrade. then it is automatically turned on and you can toggle thte settings by going to settings, then it is right under Wi-Fi with a button labeled Notifications.

it works just like voncheezy said...u have 2 install an app that uses push notifications. try tap tap revenge 2.6...once u open the app, it will ask if u wanna use "push"...if u choose "allow" u will now see the "notifications" option in settings.

k im pretty sure that the smiley thing is not actually what will be on ur phone but its just what they chose to show it as for the presentation. Im pretty sure you will see a red number or alarm or whatever by the actual app that is using push. It will look say the icon that shows you have a text message but instead it will be on a different app. If facebook eventually uses this, picture seeing like a red one next to the icon for you facebook app, showing u have a message on facebook or someth
