I like to leave the skin and head on. These types of fish have very little bones my parents are used too back in their homeland, I find it sort of amazing the length people will go to remove them. still a very nice video!
ok sweet so its the same as filleting a bluegill..nice..i always wondered about filleting a trout..i would always cook them whole....gunna hafta try this
LMAO!!!! are you kiddin me ??? bears hate the smell of fish??? I tell you what you come up on Redlake Reservation in northern minnesota right around 5 pm and you will see bears every place they dump the garbage fish from the lake after taking them outta the nets every day I dont know if I believe that about them not being able to stand the smell of fish either that or we have an all out different breed of bear lol (to which we are limited to just the small black bear)
why is it necessary to remove belly meat? I've been kind of wingin it for a few years and I always eat that. ...then I realized that youtube has these videos.
I've always wondered about fileting trout, I hate fish bones. Thanks for the instruction. Two fileted Montana rainbow trout will be on the grill tonight!
Hate to do? Not me, I love to eat fish, it's natural. Duh. Too many unnecessary steps to fillet a trout. Just slide the knife behind the head, go all the way through and fillet to the tail. No bones, no mess.
Did he say: its a 10 mile walk in the anus?

@909beats I beleive it can help reduce the fishy taste. There is alot more fat in the belly meat
