Great tones. They are definitely an improvement over the 3's. You can get em' to smoke if you spend time dialing em in right. Most people want to plug in and play with the presets and be happy. It takes some tweaking. Played through the 150 halfstack...great and LOUD !
@cobias Agree line 6 isn't a plug & play amp, the presets suck on them in my opinion.. I own a HD150 Half Stack & if you take the time to dial it in you have a hell of an amp for the money & fun to toy with.. For the ones bitching, the other part of playing is learning to operate your equipment. Line 6 & Peavey Both put out decent equipment..

@SymphonyOfVuvuzelas Fredrik definitely uses Line 6, he said so on an interview last year, Mustaine uses them but i don't know the model, maybe a Vetta, but even so he still favours marshall cabs, which are awesome, broderick is using Axe Fx, but most of theses guys live use Line 6...'cause Axe is just an effects modeler, i think they use the amps to give some power behind those effects... like John Petrucci, which uses an AxeFx through a Mesa Boogie Mark 5 Head, to give that mind-blowing power.
Well, Meshuggah and Megadeth (from 2006 to this day) play with Line 6's ... and they sound awesome! The lower end's of Line 6 are just awesomely incredible, Like Vetta II HD and the Spider Valve's ...
i have a line 6 spider myself. its a great beginner amp and sounds great with my RG. but it does sound a bit 'digital' and also when i turn the gain up the tone isn't all that great

Line 6 amps are truly awful. They sound very artificial and it takes a lot of work any decent sounding tone. Most people who recommend them have not played on anything else.

@DimeWashburn its all in technique and know how to dial in amps properly. I got the line 6 hd147 this summer, took me two weeks to dial in to perfect but its beast, Syu prolly spent 3 or 4 hours with the amp prior to this to set up his sounds.
@TheSchafer78 Oh I realize that it’s all in his technique. As for dialing the amps properly...well it certainly helps, but even here with Syu doing it his tone is atrocious! Listen to his normal tone while he is playing live with a Marshall or Hughes and Kettner (which is what I play on) and it is a huge difference. However there is a huge price difference as well haha. For the price these amps go for it isn’t too bad, but I still feel you can get a better sound for around the same price.
@DimeWashburn You can get a better sound for the price. But the amp wont be as versitile. I bought the hd147 cause it has great distortion and pretty good cleans but it aint good for much besides metal.
