lol, some of the best songs on biffy albums are slow ones. The fact that they can pull slow ones off as good as the heavy ones just shows how amazing they were/are. I don't think you'll say Scary Mary, All The Way Down, Diary Of Always, etc... are bad songs...?

Very true but these albums also had heavier songs such as bodies in flight, toys ect. so it didnt matter if ther were a few slow 1s cos the heavy 1s made up 4 it. The problem with puzzle it had pop songs and slow songs.and that was it. If the new album has a mix of heavy and slow then ill be happy.

another great song from biffy cant wait for the new album. had not heard of biffy till puzzle and that album got me into them. without puzzle i would not have heard the likes of toys toy stoys, just a boy, ideal height,57 and loads of other great tunes. biffy never sold out they just got massive.grow up you idiots

Just becasue they've released a more mainstream album doesn't mean there selling out their roots....

i can proudly say that the first biffy album i listen to was puzzle.... but when i listened to puzzle i listened to all their other albums after it as well and therefore got into them much more....

if it wasn't for puzzle a lot of fans wouldn't even know about biffy and give their other albums a chance

to be honest its not that people feel they have sold out its the fact that puzzle as an album is relitivly weak compared to something like vertigo. The live shows are now full of characters who are quite fairweather fans before biffy gigs where like a religious experiance!

Why people keep saying this is "old biffy" is a total mystery to me! because the first 3 biffy albums sound completely different to each other and the only reason people said they didn't like puzzle is because it was successful! Puzzle is my least favourite album but it is still an amazing album! It's just because people don't want their favourite bands to be in the mainstream!

Puzzle was not widely accepted by hardcore Biffy fans was because it sounded like the record label had made them do something which would sound good on the radio and suit the 'mainstream' of music.

That's not what Biffy used to be about, I think a lot of people felt let down...

Although you are right about every album sounding different. But I'm with everyone else, I'm glad they are making music like this, with the raw energy Biffy often lacked on Puzzle.

It was biffys conscious decision to go for a more mainstream direction on puzzle. Nothing to do with the label. They were going througha hard time and just wanted to make more simple pop-punk-rock songs. And tbh, much as i think either infinity land or blackened sky is their best album, puzzle has some pretty immense songs on, probably sme of their best.

I agree with you there, although i do think their change to 14th Floor meant the songs were edited in a way that they were no longer as spontaneous as the previous three albums.

One of the main things i love about Biffy is that their songs have an insane order to them - mid way, changes entiarly - and i do believe Puzzle did that.

Not that it's a bad album. Vertigo is by far my favourite.

i think some people just felt a bit bitter as a result of puzzle. before that came out, liking biffy almost felt like being part of some exclusive club and puzzle gave the general public more of a chance of hearing them. the elitists amongst us (and myself being one of them at times) will have not liked their more mainstream sound no matter how rad puzzle was. either way i think we can all agree that this song sounds fucking rad.
