  • If I were stuck in a car with you I'd be screaming too.

    I kid, I kid!

  • she's adorable! but I do NOT have the patience for a screaming child. Oh well.

  • wow, this video makes me want a baby..NOT

  • Hiya - Your video made my day. We have a little boy with similar tendencies. It is truly amazing that so much noise (or poo!) can come out of such a small, innocent looking creature. A reminder of the virtues of abstinence, indeed!! ;-)

  • Haha kids are kids, ignore all these childless/ mindless trolls.

  • she just wants a parent to hold her tight and make her feel warm and safe. babies are so insecure, you just can't put them in unfamiliar enviroment and leave them there like a rock.

  • Have you tried leaving during a nap time so she sleeps? You probably don't allow her to watch TV but have you tried a portable DVD player? Do you take her on longer trips before to get her used to it?

  • No screaming ):

  • My hat is off to you, dad; that screaming would have driven me nuts, or at least put a serious damper on my mood. You seem to be able to handle it though.

  • Wow ppl are so stupid. Ignore all of the rediculous comments.

  • Iif you had the fit of the straps correctly done, she wouldn't have messed them up no matter how hard she tried. That they we able to fold over themselves says it wasn't a good, snug fit to begin with. Further, just genious to give baby paper to play with. not like sh couldn't choke or anything. You and your partner are idiots.

  • @djdrwilson

    1. You are right, the harness should have been tighter.

    2. I will admit that I'm an idiot. However, I don't go around insulting people on the internet for NO REASON. I'm not going to block you because I'd like to give you a chance to respond to your crabby response. You seem like a fairly reasonable person.

    3. I was sitting right next to her and watching her the entire time. If the post-it were to break up into a smaller, piece I would take it from her.

  • @allthewhile sometimes they're past the point of no return, nothing is going to calm them and they'll just cry them selfs out eventually. Ignore the 'Internet experts' they're just trolls :-)

  • Wow! Thanks for sharing! Our 3 month old has started to scream uncontrollably, but your little one brings a meaning to uncontrollable. Glad you handled it so well, it is tough at first! Thanks for sharing.

  • beutiful eyes

  • I swear I saw the sibling antagonizing. First time that scream happened I would apply appropriate discipline to ensure it didn't happen again.

  • I'd have stroked her forehead instead of speaking of abstinence. More mothering, less of the crap you dealt in college...

  • @Brandtalones It was a joke. Trust me, this after about an hour of trying everything.

  • He's pissed off that he has the Post-It-Note but nothing to write with.

  • Um. When did the baby calm down? That was rather annoying.

  • You need to give her a pen to write on the post it note too.

  • Why couldn't theperson that is sitting next to the baby just feed her, or hold her, or give her a baby toy, or just sing or play some soothing music on the radio? That's what I would do. Obviously the car ride isn't doing any good at that point.

  • @ danawilli05.. you dont hold a baby in a moving vehicle smart ass! good way to make sure it gets killed if you wreck and get a huge ass fine if not catch a charge!

and from the looks of it thats another small child

  • didnt the sibling pinch the baby!?

  • you can't really tell...she might have just tried to calm her down by rubbing her shoulder

  • Try baby tylenol for the teething pain; also please fix seatbelt/restraint. Poor baby!

  • I wouldn't trust baby tylenol. What my sister did for my nephew when he was a baby with teeth coming in was give him a warm, wet rag to bite on. It helped. His crying eased a lot.

  • Ohh i see, in that case why don't they try putting they're finger knuckle in her mouth or giving her a teething ring to chew on pfft.

  • Post-It note?! WTF? You would've been a lot better off rubbing her gums or giving her a cold teething ring. Thanks for showing us how NOT to calm a baby though. ;)

  • I just use duct tape

  • I've never in my life heard a baby that age to scream like that!!!

  • thats teething pains well.

  • Teething? or Brat?

  • brat

  • dont be so rude!youre obviouslt a child yourself

  • She only cries when you talk...she doesn't like you ha ha

  • Your seatbelt harness on the baby is not in proper position on the baby, it is sagging off her shoulders. You would miss those screams a lot if you lost your child in an accident due to improper restraint.

  • Colic

  • She's teething that's why she likes the feel of something in her mouth and she's just unable to effectively relieve the pain (at least for a long period of time) hence the screaming.

  • Wow nice! :D

  • Some baby seats don't rotate, they are designed to go only one way in the car, so it's not that simple.

  • next time try duct tape - it really works

  • Try pulling the car over and let Mom hold the baby then sit next to the baby and Dad drive

  • This baby is Uncomfortable on the car seat.. Stupid Man..

Babies ONLY Cry, When they are uncomfortable due to any Reasons i.e. Hungry, Dipper Change, Loud Noise, too Cold/Hot, or in Too much Light.. etc.

Read BOOKS, how to take care of babies..

    Babies are VERY Fragiles.

  • I would have to say your the stupid one...

Dipper change??? Oh, and if you NEED a book on how to take care of a baby, then you shouldn't be having babies. There are many possibilities why a baby could cry in the car seat... but did it ever dawn on you that maybe everything with the baby was perfectly fine, except the fact that they just wanted to be held? There are cases also where babies can be car sick, while rare, still possible.

  • Listen to Sharonx9, PLEASE fix the car seat! The way the straps are will cause more harm then good to your child!!

  • I really wish you would fix the car seat straps. They have to be on the shoulders and the snap must be around the nipples. If this is not the correct position, the car seat is practically useless. The straps have to be snug enough for you to place 2 or 3 fingers under...otherwise the baby could and probably would come out of the seat in a wreck.

  • wow i am lucky my daughter never screamed like murder

  • Wow...I feel sorry for you guys on your car ride. I know how it is though, I have 3 kids, one of which is a 6 week old:)

  • post-it-notes can choke infants!! T_T

  • For some reason...the screaming baby makes me laugh. Farts make me laugh too..I guess add "screaming baby" to the list of things that make me laugh, as well.

  • if i have a kid and it cries, i just hope it doesnt cry like this.

  • Yeah, just show this video to high school and college students and it's a garantee they'll choose to wait or at least use protection.

Cute baby though! She (or he?) sounds like my niece when she goes on a car ride. Thankfully Willa Mae only screams sometimes in the car.

  • Trying giving it a valium

  • i think i hear a next mariah carey when she hit that high note.....lol!!! cutie baby.. enjoy every moment..

  • you poor guy

  • I hope you can look back at this video now and laugh..but it brings back some bad memories for me. I used to frequently take my son from Georgia to Florida to visit Grandma...it's a 7 hour drive..and he was a screamer...AHHHH LOL

  • Oh my goodness...I feel for you! And don't let anyone tell you that it's something YOU are doing or not doing! I have a six month old who screams bloody murder almost everytime she's in the car...we've tried EVERYTHING...bottle, music, toy, distraction, putting a blanket over her carseat, turning on the interior lights...nothing works. I feel for you, I really do...it's HELL driving with a screaming baby. I hope for both our sakes they grow out of it soon!

  • She looks tired. It's funny, but sometimes they get like that in the car (especially during the day). Usually, they just knock right out from the sound and the motion, but sometimes they get so attracted to watching the stuff go by out the window that they overstimulate themselves. It's a bummer. If she's not wet or hungry, all you can do is tune her out until she cries it out (or until the trip is over).

  • I agree-don't give a child something like that. Why didn't you have a pacifier or even a bottle of juice or something? Or a special toy? Some music? Think before you take a child out on a trip.

  • Thanks for the tip but we don't bottle feed our children or give them pacifiers. I really don't want to debate the benefits of such things, we just don't do it. Besides, at this age, she was still nursing and had never had anything but that. Of course mom pumped beforehand and guess what: she didn't want it. You think I didn't try toys? You think we didn't try music? We stopped multiple times, but she wasn't having it.

  • You are aware are you not that paper can cut like a knife if you get it in the right place? Stick to something soft.

  • That's what I'm saying! Jesus Christ, think about this shit. I am mother and stupid ideas like this would never cross my mind. Ur a dumbass, dad! Plus, the adhesive and chemicals on that little piece of paper are probably not good at all for your baby. I wouldn't even take the risk!

  • @lkibel Why the insults? Do you know me? Would you call me a dumbass to my face? Do you teach your children to insult people you don't even know? Yes, it was a stupid idea. Children don't break.

  • to think that a baby's carseat will be secure jst be wedging it into the middle is not smart.

  • Her seat was securely fastened with the middle restraining belt. I have no idea where you're getting that from.

  • I didn't realize that the seat was installed with an in car base..I apologize..I saw that the slots where the belt goes when you are not using the base was empty..and slipped my mind. haha!

  • give her a good smack...thats what my parents did to me!I have zero tolerance for spoiled brats like your kid!

  • She's an infant. If I were to smack her, she would only cry harder. She would hardly understand why she was being smacked. I can see you have excellent knowledge of childhood development. (sarcasm)

  • That kid's a baby!

  • I don't plan on having any either. But I do admit babies are cute when they're asleep and not crying.

  • puppies are way cuter

  • Nefeli, I am also glad you have chosen not to have children. There are enough bad, impatient parents in the world.

  • Thanks!! I take my 'impatience' as a virtuous sign. One day when you are old and decrepit I won't have the time for you either! Ta!

  • The Exorcist - Return of Damien. lol

  • That car seat needs to be adjusted for a correct fit. As it is now, in an impact, the baby's shoulders would pop out of the harness. It also appears that the carseat is NOT strapped in with a seatbelt which serves to make baby and carseat a missile to be ejected form the car on impact.

  • Absolutely. Also, you can stop by most police departments and sometimes even the fire department and they will check your car seat to make sure it's safe. It's free so there's no excuse.

  • Thanks for the tip on the correct fit. However, if you notice in the vid, she had been pulling and wriggling at the straps.

Of course the carseat is fastened by a seatbelt. The middle seat of our Saturn has a waste strap only. I pull that thing so tight and secure that it can't even move. I may be an idiot, but not a complete idiot! :)

  • haha she's good at screaming...sux for you dude.

  • Cute though, shes so cute even when shes screaming

  • Calm a Crying Baby With a Post-it Note

    I don't think it's calm...

  • Anybody considered that we aren't dealing with an annoying kid but with one with taste?

I would cry, too, if my mom would force me to wear these clothes!

  • Good eye. Normally I would take offense at such a comment but I do agree. That was an outfit that Grandma bought and we were on the way to Grandma's house. We too thought it was hideous. My wife has excellent taste, and maybe Ruby was rebelling against the hideous leopard print!

  • Yeah post it does not seem to work, give it valium :)

  • i dont think u should b givin a baby a post it 2 play with but hey thats just me

  • You're good at using casual comedy to defuse small nightmares. Next time try a whole Cinnabon instead of a Post-It. That's the kind of thing an uncle would do: give his brother's baby a Cinnabon.

  • God, what an annoying kid... Jesus, shut up! X((
