  • As the owner of 2 30-06 deer rifles, all I can think of when I watch this video is that ammo must have cost a shit ton! Awesome video though, the 1917 is very cool indeed.

  • watching shoot it like arnold s. was cool!that`s one bad ass toy!i hope you share well with others, because that`s too much fun for just one person!

  • great video, also that gun appears to have all of her WW1 configuration intact from the WW1 rear sight, topcover pin, pivot pin, and I did not even see a reinforcing stirrup. Does she also still have the WW1 backplate with trigger lock intact?

  • It's fun to watch these videos. It's from a totally different world (live in the EU, only really hunting weapons allowed here) so it's a wonderful chance I get to see your weapons (or arsenal) in actual action. I have commented this before on many of your videos, but thanks for taking your time to make and upload these videos!

  • turk bitch sitting and shooting wtf?

  • Didn't know the barrel hid in there like that when firing..

    Sweet video!

  • Thanks !!

  • when I saw the water cooler I thought it was a maxim

  • @sniperintheboat44 Actually Browning himself developed the M1917 Browning differently from the Maxim principle - the only similarity to the Maxim was are the recoil operation, T-slot breechblock, water cooling, and forward ejection. Otherwise the Browning M1917 did not involve the toggle locking mechanism and was lighter + simpler than the Maxim gun.

  • you must be a rich. what is your profession?

  • did it overheat at all, you fired it for quite awhile

  • @theclash181 No, the barrel is water-cooled.

  • @theclash181 Well John Browning fired around 16,000 rounds in one burst with one of these - So no.

  • @theclash181 By the way, when the army tested this they fired one for 48 minutes straight, or 21,000 thousand rounds, it didn't overheat as long as you kept water in the jacket. This thing has reliability records that have not been met or beat yet in its' class. One of the best machine guns of all time, Browning 1919 has the same mechanism.

  • wow just like the movies...i thought hollywood was full of bullshit

  • You ought to do a video on the BAR.

  • Beautiful gun. RIP John Basilone.

  • i am 20 years old

Yet my passion goes to my 8 bolt action rifles of WW2 and before (Finnish and russian nagant, K31, 2 M95's stutzen, Carcano's, Swedish mauser, berthier)

And watching video's of epic M1917 browning MG, Maxim MG's, Russian Maxims and any gun before the 1960...

  • were do the casings go? iv'e studied this gun for years, but iv'e just realized the the shells don't exit after being fired

  • is this the one you pee on to cool off?

  • @AtomicAtari no, i has a water cooling barrel. its so hot, your pee will just evaporite

  • You really do spectacular work on these old MGs. I'm extremely impressed (and not just because I absolutely love the classic look of the old 1917s)

  • Strange how a lot of people own fully automatic firearms but we never hear of petty criminals using them for mischief... Could the media be wrong about gun control!!!!

  • @terrask those who abuse guns often own them illegally from the beginning. most criminals get a record before they get the chance to buy a gun legally, so i dont think liberal gun laws are the problem :P

  • Where's the trigger of this weapon?

  • @chry92killer On the back you push the button... and shoot ;p

  • @whitehawk62 His hand didn't though.

  • i love that sound

  • from world war 1 right?

  • If there ever will be a zombie invasion.... i'm coming over to this guys place

  • so the water in the jacket will never get warm or boil?? damnn

  • Can I come to your house and shoot it? lol

  • love this sound!!!!! tik tik tik 0:34

  • do you need a new son?

  • cn neone explain how this gun works,....

  • John Basilone would be proud of you guys.

    Semper Fi.

  • Given the difference in sight radius between this and the M1919, which was more combat effective? Was the M1919's front sight placed on the receiver merely because there was nowhere else to place it, or was it to reduce the sight radius for faster target acquisition?

  • Thank you, Great to see a very recognizable and important weapon being demonstrated for our viewing pleasure.

  • Browning makes the scariest guns.

  • Beautiful Gun

  • Poles were producing their own version of browning m1917 heavy machine gun, its called ckm wz.30. Different caliber, tripod, sights, longer barell, additional AA sights, additional butstock for AA fire and few more things. Polish browning was slightly more relieble than its predecesorr beacuse it composed less parts so it was less keen to jam. Very good piece of weaponry, loved by polish troops.

  • FIRST WAVE OVER THE TOP!!!!!!

  • Does anyone here thank C2builder for the provision of answers? Just something to think about.

  • was this used in ww1 cuase the barrel looks big like the fist machine gun

  • kids remember dont play with fire....

  • how much did that cost to shoot those rounds that day? $300,000 every 12 seconds? :D

  • Hell yeah love your videos! KEEP EM COMING!

  • 1:28 BADASS!!!!!

  • I'll be John Basilone all day if I had this baby. :D

  • 0:03-0:17 Basilone Cam

  • The Machinegun that won Guadalcanal!

  • my grandfather ran one in korea. he said they were heavy, and they used to have to piss in them sometimes. idk if it was to cool them down or if they leaked fluid. he didn't say much about korea.

p.s. my grandpa is a badass.

  • @fatdan460 it's always the ones from usa who keep yapping about how great their veterans are :D no offence´, its just funny

  • @fatdan460 i know this was 7 months ago but, my grandfather was in vietnam and he used this gun, he told me pissing in it kept it cool. lol

  • @fatdan460 what regiment was he in, my grandpa was in korea also

  • @fatdan460 all grandpas are badasses

  • that machine wiped out alot of banzai attacks on Edson ridge, Guadalcanal 1942.

  • @Sturmmann John Basilone and Mitchell Paige

  • this gun builds up a lot of heat?

  • Raggh!!!!!!!

  • Can I come to your house if there's a zombie outbreak?

  • Ah... the beast that John Basilone used... Respect

  • @Shuyin686 Not to mention the fact that he had to hand-carry it during parts of the battle and got 3rd degree burns...RESPECT !!!

  • wow, very low recoil :)

  • Nederland is the Dutch word dor The Netherlands ;D

    likely Dutch pioneers founded it

  • what calliber?

  • IT'S JOHN BASILONE

  • I have to say that first I envy you in a good way. I live in the USA and am in a state that allows ownership of full auto weapons. What lisences do I need to purchase and approx. how much would they cost? I appreciate any help

  • @Metallica3636 Do a online search for "class 3 license" or "NFA ownership" and that will answer more than I could tell you. Thanks.

  • @C2builder i envy you too, here in italy there are a lot of restrictions in weapons :(

  • @Metallica3636 which state is that??!?!?!?!

  • this is 80's yugo surplus ammo\

  • Awesome!

  • @engaurd No myth. As long as you have cool water in the jacket surrounding the barrel you can shoot all day. You would have to lubricate the internals every now and then but that takes what....1 minute?

  • @C2builder surely most weapons are like that though

  • @C2builder What about swapping out barrels?

  • My granduncle Pfc. Quinten G. Nelson of I Company 3/6 2nd Marine Division was a gunner manning a Heavy Browning M1917A1 MGN on Saipan, Marianas Islands June 16, 1944. He was awarded the Navy Cross & 2 Purple Heart Medals I can only imagine the destruction he inflicted upon the enemy in 1hour & 30 minutes of action time before being wounded by a enemy hand grenade & heavy enemy rifle fire & evacuated.

  • Love the watercooled

  • Water cooled, thats how its done

  • how much do you sell these for? i have contacted another builder and he sent me a video of one of his but it kept jamming, your looks very good and i would be interested in buying one if you are still selling them

  • @killa123211 I don't sell anything unless it works 100%. The price of a registered Browning 1917 is around $17,000US, if you are a NFA or Class 3 Dealers the price of a Post '86 sales sample is $3,000US.

    Thanks.

  • @C2builder why is the price 3000 for dealers and NFA only? how do you become NFA or a dealer?

  • Do you ever think you'll one day get a Ma Deuce?

  • @135twilight I built one for a client about 7 years ago and I doubt if I ever build one for myself, they're just too damn expensive to feed.

  • My uncle was a Marine in WW2 with the 2nd Marine Division at Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, & Tinian. He was a Heavy Machine Gun Crewman and was awarded the Navy Cross & two Purple Hearts for actions on Saipan, Marianas Islands June 16, 1944.

  • Where do you get the ammo for all your guns? And is it expensive?

  • @laksemann, As a gun manufacturer I keep a large stock pile of ammo for gun testing. I don't pay retail price.

  • Excellent video! Very nice to see one in working full auto condition. I've been in concact with a vet from the 94th Inf Div. who carried around a M1917 in 1945. He said the only problem he had with it was that the water jacket was an easy target for shrapnel damage.

  • @HPBrowningBoy Is it me or is the firing rate on this machine gun faster than the 1919A4?

  • @victorrain It is, but the m1917 is a MUCH heavier gun

  • I always thought that muzzle flash would handicap the aiming over iron sights, but it doesnt seem to be a problem to keep looking trough sights while firing full auto.

  • @peicemakerSS22, I can see now that it wasn't that hard for the Marines on Iwo Jima to carry these guns into a assault attack, they are not that heavy and the weight soaks up alot of the recoil. Very managable.

  • great video as always and a quick question - the barrel moving back and forth - what is it's function? to reload next round? thanks.

  • @krinkovfullauto, yes the barrel moving is the recoil action pushing the bolt backwards, removing the next round from the cloth belt then to be inserted into the chamber while also ejecting the previous empty case through the bottom of the gun.

  • Strange thing about guns (and probably the most interesting) is that some of them look so good and works so perfectly you'll forget it was made to do the dirtiest of the jobs available.

Anyway, again thx for the vid.

  • Been looking for a video of this for ages, Thanks very much!

  • Great looking gun. All the details are very impressive when you see it "in real life." Great vid.

  • are you ex ATF officer?

  • No, the hat was a freebie gift. But, I do work with them occasionally.

  • The Pre WWII Polish Army used a copy of this gun called the CKM wz. 1930. The only differences were 8mm Mauser, Mauser style rear sight, tripod, a shoulder stock, and flash hider.

  • I'm curious as to how many rounds you put through this thing. I'm sitting here watching this video and I'll thinking, "There goes $10... $20... $40... :D

  • I think I shot around 500rds through this M1917 while I was videoing. You have to understand one thing, I'm not rich. Being in this business for ten years now has allowed me to stock up on all calibers of ammo back when prices were really cheap. I haven't bought any ammo since 2006.

  • Professional comprehensive video again.

  • Will you build me one of these if i send you $30 and a kit kat bar?

  • No problem, I will also send you some pictures of your cute wife while you are spending 10 years in lockup at Club Fed. LOL. You can share the pictures I send you with your new room mate Snake. LOL.

  • Lovely gun that one, thats some fairly smoky ammo your using there, mil surp? Bulgarian? LOL,its a shame someone bent the windage adjuster spindle on the rear site,I suppose if you try and straighten it it will fracture, unless you strip and heat it at the bend gently and strighten it.Did you have the water jacket filled when you were test firing this gun?

  • Yes the spindle is slightly bent but it doesn't bother the movement so I will leave it alone. The ammo was Greek and has always worked well for me. Yes, the jacket was filled to the proper level during testing. I'm very pleased with this gun and will probrably keep it for some time.

  • Thanks for the reply,it is a very nice example. What year of manufacture is the greek ammo?Just out of interest.

  • Headstamp is HXP 80.

  • i REALLY want your job.

  • ★★★★★

  • wouldnt want to have to clean that bastard afterwards ahaha

  • The 1917 is very easy to clean, no booster cone to scape the carbon out. You should try to clean a MG42, nastiest beast to clean.

  • I like this weapon!

  • Brilliant! Awesome work firing free hand! You MUST be a big bastard to be able to hang onto it and manage the recoil so easily. I'm liking Texas more and more!

  • It's not that bad Ted, with the weight of 33 lbs + the weight of the water in the front jacket it's very mild. Even a frail little Kiwi could handle it! LOL.

  • Never knew the muzzle recoils. Only see that just now in slowmo. How does that work?

  • The internal parts of all Browning machine guns recoil because it uses recoil operation from each ignited cartridge cycling the action.

  • A very nice gun, I like the distinctive rattle effect :)

Say, is the barrel an original or refurbished? If so, how many rounds would you say this barrel could take before it gets worn to the point the rifling is ineffective?

  • The barrel I'm using in the video is a new condition spare so I could check the gun's accurancy. The life of a MG barrel really depends on how well the barrel was serviced and cleaned during it's use.

  • Great Video! Waiting for more of your videos, regards, Yevgen, Ukraine.

  • Fantastic!. can't wait for more!

  • How does the water jacket work?

  • The water is simply poured into the jacket and surrounds the barrel during firing, keeping it from over heating.

  • sweet slowmow

  • Really nice M1917! Runs very smoothly. Would like one myself, but the strict gunlaws here makes that close to impossible.

Keep it up, I really enjoy your videos!

  • Awesome. I would not like to be on the recieving end of that
