  • A golden oldie from a young Gordon Lightfoot. Good guitar work by Red Shea also. Nice to hear one of the old, lesser known gems!

  • I am a big fan of Gordon Lightfoot !

  • High artistry!

    What a voice tone!

  • Red was amazing. He complimented Lightfoot much the same way Maury Muehleisen did for Jim Croce. Without those lead guitarists...many of their great tunes would not be the same.

  • RIP, Red Shea; As lead guitar player for Gordon Lightfoot from 1965 through 1975 (he toured only sporatically in the 70s, and shared lead with Terry Clements), he was the man responsible for the stirring and memorable lead riffs on some of Lightfoot's most famous songs. Listen to If You Could Read My Mind, Don Quixote or Song For A Winter's Night for a sample of his masterful guitar playing. He played on every album from The Way I Feel through Gord's Gold. • @trbfshmn I always thought Terry was the lead guy. never knew about Red......It seems Terry was in all the shows/clips/etc.

  • where was this recorded and what year

  • @pkappel006 This looks like a clip from Gord's BBC special recorded in the spring of '71. The stage setting, and audience, appear the same.

  • @dllewiszz But it's in fact from the US TV-show "Music Scene", late 1969.

  • @pkappel006 1967

  • @folksinger91 thanks.
