The creator still retains the copyright and some rights for the material. Creative Commons allows the copyright holder to give permission for some uses without giving up the copyright. Public domain means that anyone can do anything with the material.
Great information Dany! I use flickr for photos and am aware of licensing restricts, but feel there is definately a need for some people to know this info.
