In an immediate emergency situation, any shelter can save life. People should have on hand at all times three or four of those "space blankets". They take up less space then a handkerchief and could be used in place of the plastic. I keep three of them in my bug out bag. Tie to poles with paracord, quick and easy. Once that waterproof, heat reflective skin is on start leaning pine branches against it for added security. It would be fast and sometimes seconds counts.

i made a teepee by making a tripod of large sticks and putting sticks laid around those and put a childrens parachute around it....im fourteen and its pretty awesome haha

I think there are many videos on youtube, showing various kinds of shelters........ one should be able to source cordage/rope/vines/roots etc... and other materials if they know what to look for in their climate........ but this guy uses plastic on all of his shelters........... there are some good points, like the lashing he shows...

If you lay three poles on the ground, tie them together with on pointing between the other two, lash them, then you can raise them in the center so you don't end up with a tree in the middle of your tepee.

@BobbySoFamous hi, ive had expirienced a real situation where i was out there for 4 days, me and my cousin, and im pretty sure i know what im talking about. more than likely you wont have fancy gear in a situation like that, i didnt. survival courses should show what to do in that situation with just your ouw hands. i enjoyed the video i was just informing people not to try and do to fancy stuff like this should they get lost-stuck out there. maybe later on, you could build a permanent shelter.

That is NOT a tipi... For a tipi the cover should not come all the way to the ground. The inner liner comes to the ground inside. This makes it a natural chimney for a fire in the center.
