This movie is one of the best I ever seen. Gus Van Sant is a great director and all the actors (Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, Diego Luna, James Franco, Josh Brolin...) are amazing. I didn't know Harvey Milk before the movie. And now I am really happy that a movie so beautiful was made on him. Every people should be proud of this man.

My father was a tough, macho, flaming heterosexual...as am I, as are my sons(well, maybe we're not as tough and macho as my Dad was). This movie was so wonderful. I went to see it twice while it was in theatres. The acting was great, the writing was very well-done, the timing of the release very appropriate, and you can't forget that nice shot of James Franco's ass.

What a great movie. Sean Penn so deserved the oscar for that performance. Emile Hirshe was incredible too and Diego Luna. Such great acting. The emotion from Sean Penn was so real, it was like someone recorded it in real life. This movie was so wonderful. I went to see it twice while it was in theatres. The acting was great, the writing was very well-done, the timing of the release very appropriate, and you can't forget that nice shot of James Franco's ass.

What a great movie. Sean Penn so deserved the oscar for that performance. Emile Hirshe was incredible too and Diego Luna. Such great acting. The emotion from Sean Penn was so real, it was like someone recorded it in real life. Great movie but if you are a homophobe then I have to warn you there is a lot of intimate scenes, but open your mind and see what the struggle has been for gays in this country. I was shocked at how bad it used to be.
