That would have been really hard to get done. You try finding moon rock crushed in to a paint like paste, it's hard.

Chocolate contains a chemical called Theobromine. Humans can safely consume it usually, too much will kill us (about 1000mg per kilogram), but we metabolize fairly quickly; dogs metabolize it much more slowly, meaning less is needed to kill them. Wikipedia says about 50mg for a small dog, and about 400mg for average-sized ones.

The Hershey's website says that there are about 74mg of Theobromine in a 1.55oz Hershey's Milk Chocolate bar.

Unless, shortly after the clip cut to another scene, in the 'off-camera' time, he realized his mistake and rushed him (or her) to the vet. Probably could have made a good extra scene to show another use for the portal gun.
